  • Did you know even more free food services have become available to students on the Sunshine Coast?
    Study Sunshine Coast and Study Queensland have increased their support so you can get such needed food supplies and feel better during this challenging time. They are providing your institution with ready-made meals, fresh fruit and vegetables and pantry items each week, for you to access. And it is a free service!
    You can reach out to your Sunshine Coast education institution from the links in the comments section below and they’ll connect you to these free food services.

    Food Services Available Through Your Institution:
    The following institutions all have FREE weekly food services set-up especially for their students.
    * Free ready meals
    * Free pantry items
    * Free fresh produce - fruit and vegetables
    You can access this free food services every week and this does not impact your study or your visa record.
    Education Institution contact details:
    TAFE Queensland Sunshine Coast - students can contact Angie at intss.eastcoast@tafe.qld.edu.au. Students are encouraged to write ‘Support for International Students’ in the email subject line.
    USC Sunshine Coast - students can contact Alex and Emily for more details welfarestudentguild@usc.edu.au or phone 5430 1226.
    Mindroom - students can contact Lina at lina@mindroom.edu.au
    Lexis English Sunshine Coast - students can contact Simara on (07) 5447 4448 or keep an eye on the Lexis English Sunshine Coast Facebook page.

    Many thanks to OzHarvest Sunshine Coast (facebook.com/OzHarvestSunshineCoast/), Urban Angels Community Kitchen (instagram.com/urban_angels_ck/), Study Brisbane, Fareshare (www.fareshare.net.au/brisbane/) and Foodbank Queensland (www.foodbank.org.au/?state=qld) who have been instrumental in organising, supplying the produce and cooking the food to make this free food service initiative happen.
    Free Student Support Services:
    A new FREE Online Student Support Hub is available for all Queensland students. By registering on this hub you can speak with Student Support Officers (translators available) and book virtual appointments to discuss any needs or worries you have. You can access the hub at: www.studyqueensland.qld.gov.au/Live/Student-Support
    If you book an appointment with the Hub they can chat with you about any help you need and provide vouchers for groceries and to pay bills, and this not does impact on your study or visa.
    The student study hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This free service supports students, agents, chaperones, parents and homestay providers and is accessed at: 1800QSTUDY (1800 778 839)
    Free Food Services:
    The Sunshine Coast has amazing food charity organisations that operate throughout the week to provide free meals and discounted or free pantry items to any community members in need.
