here are a couple different ways to look at the odds mentioned in the video: what happened in the video if we only care about winnipeg and seattle being chosen in that order: winnipeg getting chosen the first time: (1/26) winnipeg getting chosen the second time (1/26) seattle getting chosen the first time (1/25) seattle getting chosen the second time (1/25) multiplying them together yields 1/422 500 however, If you dont care about it being specifically winnipeg and seattle the odds of two different teams getting selected twice in a row using the results of the rolls that happened in the video for simplicity, the odds would be as follows: (1/1) 1st team (1/26) 1st team again (assuming no game from first selection) (24/25+25/25)/2 different team than first taking into account the result of the game, if you want the 1st team to always lose their game like in the video, just use 25/25. (1/25) second team chosen again(assuming no game after first selection) that multiplying those together using (24/25 + 25/25)/2 as the calc for the second team is: 49/32 500 or roughly 1/663 using (25/25) gives: 1/650 there are more things that can potentially be taken into consideration for both calculations (ie wether or not a game is played each round, but that just complicates the answer even further for not a whole lot of variation) TLDR: odds are 1/422 500 or 1/650
I love this imperialism. This was way smarter to put someone form the last team to the winners team since last time Carolina didn’t play a game until the end lol
This was fun, I've seen the imperialism videos for NBA and NFL and was waiting for someone to post an NHL one. Some suggestions for future imperialism videos: - Make it so all 32 teams play before there's a repeat team. It's really funny seeing the Wild or Flyers pick up a bunch of territory on an upset after doing nothing all video, but that's also how you get Arizona adding a million players. That was really funny too, but imagine if it happened to a good team like Tampa, just getting to play every other wheel-spin, the video probably wouldn't have been as exciting. - When there are only a few teams left and most of the map is covered, don't use free spaces. If the option is to either take a free space that ultimately does nothing, or to compete with the team *slightly* to the left of that free space, just have the teams compete. The free spaces are fun at the beginning because it allows for teams to "move" across the map to other opponents, but if 90% of the map is already taken, it adds zero entertainment value. That being said, I really liked that you only took players from teams current rosters when they were defeated, I think that helped make things more balanced. I also like that you chose players based on team needs (like McAvoy for the Rangers). I'm excited to see more of these!
So NJ doesnt just take Delaware and has to play Washington but colorado gets a free pass(doesnt play Dallas) and takes Oklahoma, huh? Just genuinely asking so no need to come at me with "its just a simulation bro chill" "its not that serious bruv" im hoping SOTI will reply, I do like this series btw! Also how are you putting the players that youre picking up after winning to the new rosters? i didnt now you could do that in NHL23
Love this video style, could honestly keep simulating it every few months and see what crazy outcomes happen next time cause it's pretty entertaining watching ARI knock out so many teams
This is a great concept and fun vid. One critique if you don’t mind it. I’m not sure if you script the dialogue or go in with no script, but you use words like “potting goals” and “locking it down” a lot. I think adding more variety in your dialogue will be more engaging and entertaining. Another suggestion, if a team has claimed extra territory, instead of complete elimination on a loss, maybe the winning team gets one territory or all land except the home base? Gives more chances for upsets and comebacks but might be too long. Another possible variation, use the maps based on the biggest nhl team in each state. That means no free spaces, they all duke it out from minute 1
This was a really cool video, but a couple of suggestions to make it more interesting. First, you should make each matchup a best 2 out of three, or maybe even 5/7. Second, whichever team wins should claim the other team’s claimed players plus one from their roster, so the upset hurts even more for the losing team.
19:46 the fact that the Islanders and Flyers got the smallest land tho. We did nothing the whole video Finally at 20:30 we do something and we LOSE TO THE FREAKING FLYERS 🤮
15:53 Yeah well let me tell ya how that would have gone! The Rangers shut the Blues out last night 4-0 without Ovechkin on their team. So that’s how it would have gone!
Let’s do imperialism but with the franchises most recent cup-winning team. I suppose teams with no cups would just have whatever roster they went furthest with.
Now we need a hybrid in part 3, when a successful attack gives you territory and a successful defence lets you steal a player That's gonna be a long war
Can we get NHL alumni imperialism next?
Would love that
Fantastic idea, honestly any league would be cool but alumni especially
Yeah
Please no my team was an expansion we have no history😭
That would be really cool
WE NEED PART 3, love this content
Yes!!
5:55 Columbus is NOT the first Canadian team to enter canada
YES THEY ARE
@@slammy268 no they are the first American team to enter Canada.
I herd that too.

This deserves way more. Everyone LIKE THIS COMMENT!!!
I love how he alternated between praising St. Louis for being an almighty team and saying how the heck did we win that game
Love Ovie potting the OT winner in the empty net.
5:54 the first Canada to enter Canada
This was a super fun idea. You should do this with either Alumni teams or National teams (would be fun but quick)
Do I look nervous
British Columbia looking a bit.... different
THICKER
Thick
Canada is a little exited rn
Ah yes, the Columbus Blue Jackets, the first Canadian team to enter Canada
what an OT winner by OVI 9:30
It was in the 3rd period
@@paulmatz8908 bro thats the joke lol
I love this imperialism. This was way smarter to put someone form the last team to the winners team since last time Carolina didn’t play a game until the end lol
He definitely rigged it for St. Louis
Yea the whole thing seemed fishy. And both videos St. Louis just miraculously got really far.
@@beckprod1607 nah stl just like that

You know there are words other than "pot" to describe scoring right LOL

Hands down my favorite series on your channel.

NOOOO COYOTES DIDN’T PULL THROUGH 😭😔
9:30 how did Ovi the great eight pot home the OT winner?🤔
One of the best nhl UA-camrs regardless of sub count because you always listen to your viewers thank you friend
I love these videos man... such a great concept.
9:30 Ovid gonna pot that ot winner
Enjoyed the last video I wonder who's gonna win
You should do this but with alumni teams
Do the same thing but backwards who ever loses gets to live to see the worst team.
Arizona coyotes who, u mean utah
They used to be Arizona coyotes

i didnt know you had one of these to begin with i watched the nfl one and wanted nhl so bad thanks for great content
This is a really cool and unique video idea, loved it!
Hmm, with how good he's talking about the Blues you think he's a blues fans? 🤔
Shouldn’t the team the spinner lands on be away since they’re going into the other team’s territory??
EA hates the Rangers when they play Carolina
15:30 its like the world is rubbing it in the caps face 😔
What is the site you used to do this?
Great video! I gotta be honest, I was cheering for the Yotes... they had such a good run going!!!
19:46 the fact that the Islanders and Flyers got the smallest land tho. We did nothing the whole video

The rangers losing is kinda sad bc of the players they added
GREATEST FRANCHISE OF ALL TIME 🗣🗣🗣
Ovi got the OT winner to make it 3-1
Bro this should be a playable mode IN CHEL itself! Great, great content!
5:54 lol 😂 they are the first Canadian team to enter Canada?
what is the map's website called?
The Capitals' area is the DMV, there's arguably more caps fans in nova than in MD for that matter
You should do it again, but when a team takes a free state they can recruit a player from a team that's been eliminated
It is going to be a banger
My family loves Dean’sWorld and I love this one to hockey is my favorite sport
After that performance, put some RESPECT on the Coyotes.
Should’ve taken Shesty from rangers instead of panarin
Do college teams in imperialism

Pretty sure the odds are 1 in 1,048,576… just (1/32)^4

Bro St. Louis is not that good
16:31 hold up didn't Ottawa have hellabuck????
Love the concept
as an oilers fan I was very happy when they beat the flames
The Carolina Hurricanes knocked out new Rangers when the New York Rangers had a ton of land two times in a row
Do a world wide imperalism series with the national teams
25:02 there’s still some empty states. Also u added players so they probably couldnt be the best
Ah yes the Hudson River rivalry. The New Jersey devils and the New York… uhhh… islanders?
The binner classic bro
It’s funny that my team didn’t do any thing this in tire time san hose sharks lol
What song have you been using in videos it's nice and chill also when will you do another 10 year rebuild if so do cbj the current GM is kinda mid
Love this videos thank you so much
Mat barzal has been injured since there last game against the bruins
CBJ are the first Canadian team to enter Canada (LOL)
