WHat surprises me is that no one on UA-cam did not make one of these motors and show off their prowess. Just maybe we all will be surprised.
there are quite a few axial motor builds here on YT
Just hope for more unique axial motor builds doing great things on YT. Make it happen YT for all to learn from. Well stated Eric. @@ericvauwee4923
That is a lot of heat to dissipate
this engine was first developed by emrax in Slovenia in 2008 i have a 150 hp emrax 268 version at 20 kg which i bought in 2018 in a 2 place aircraft.
Does Koenigsegg bought the rights to further develop and manufacture this electric motor?
does that mean there are ways to access this tech without KonnigsEgg?
@@LouAlvis Axial EV motors have been around for more than 200 years, they have not copyright or patent claims to it. Radial EV motors, same... combining two common use unpatentable items via a shaft is pretty much impossible to patent. Now the controller system is another thing. They probably have a lot of research in getting it to "fire" correctly and efficiently.
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:14 🚗 Koenigsegg has developed an electric motor with a small diameter, around the size of an unpeeled coconut, and a thickness of about six centimeters, which can produce up to 330 HP.
00:27 ⚙️ This electric motor is designed to be paired and controlled through one inverter, and two units of these motors can generate up to 660 horsepower while weighing less than 85 kilograms.
01:08 🔄 The motor uses a technology called "raxial flux," which combines two types of electric motor designs, radial and axial flux, to achieve a unique balance of torque, power, RPM, and weight efficiency.
02:16 🌟 Koenigsegg achieves the motor's lightweight by using carbon fiber material in certain internal parts, making it up to 15 kilograms lighter than Tesla's electric motor.
03:15 🏁 The Quarky motor outperforms Tesla's electric motor, offering up to 300 more horsepower and 1173 newton meters more torque, making it a promising option for various applications, including mass-produced vehicles.
Made with HARPA AI
I'd like to see them stuck two of those motors together and offer them to put in other cars as a combustion engine replacement. Motor, controllers, batteries , and chargers all as a package.
Two 330HP motors at 30kg each. Combined with a 100kWh battery weighing about 400kg, it will perform for about 10 minutes.
@@hougen968 I am interested in you evaluation, I should love to know more
@@hougen968 bugatti veyron, with a full tank of gas, can drive only for around 12 minutes at max. speed:))
@@hougen968What nonsense
@@the_atomic_kebabClearly not aware that max speed is very different than full throttle. he never said max speed lol. again, flooring it around a track it would last about 10 minutes . completely useless without a combustion motor hybrid setup.
Please can they apply a similar level of thinking to power generation and supply. At present the methods and efficiency are very low and far too expensive. We need more distributed storage systems.
I still think a fairly tiny gas turbine driving a generator through a reduction gearbox would be the best of both worlds. Could run off of kerosene, and be even cleaner on CNG. Very little infrastructure would need to be changed and 0 charge time as there would not be a battery powering the motors. Drive all day and just fill at the pump like we do now. I wonder the power needs for this koenigsegg motor?
Meh. Ive been tinkering with an engine designed 120 years ago, that showed a thermodynamic efficiency that still hasnt been bettered.
Ww1 got in the way and it was forgotten about. Theres one running example in australia somewhere. Its huge. But its also highly scaleable.
Thing is, with no crank, con rod, piston, it seems useless... until its used to create hydraulic pressure... that drives turbines. That can run slow enough to be direct coupled... to wheels, generators, whatever.
@@reevinriggin3570yes but how would you get the heat away from the electric motor/s? turbines are not very fuel efficient, and take a while to start and produce max thrust. interesting idea though not saying it shouldnt be developed if efficiency is there. a big if.
Any electric motor that is rated in hp only is utter BS.
What is required is RPM. It makes x torque at y RPM. producing z kw of mechanical work from w kw of electrical energy.
Why dont you people try learning real facts instead of swallowing marketing hype?
Are you nuts? hp is just another unit for mechanical work and can be used exactly the same as kw
@@TrccrT its meaningless without rpm, or TIME.
horsepower is a function of force over TIME.
i see you fell for the hype. thats what these guys rely on. ignorance.
@@paradiselost9946 typically they just put the maximum HP at any given rpm, it's still pretty meaningful.
@@pasiutrial its absolutely meaningless.
and then of course... is this the electrical power it consumes? electric motor manufacturers love to take advantage of little minor details like that...
or is it the actual power seen at the shaft?
this whole thing is fun. like my ebike back whenever. a strict rule of 200W maximum.
they fail to state if thats rotational power, or electrical power. so i could have hundreds of NM of torque at virtually zero RPM. yet use several KW of electrical power.
vice versa, letting it spin at an rpm equivalent to our (also strict at 30km/h) top speed yet limiting consumption to a mere 300W or so...
and yet, in either case, the OUTPUT was 200W.
i can lock the shaft on a motor. it makes ZERO HP. its making LOTS of torque though.
its also chewing plenty of electrical energy, making heat, buzzing, and if i hold it for much longer it will start smoking... because it isnt spinning, it isnt acting like a generator producing a backemf to counteract the applied EMF to keep electrical power consumption to a safe figure.
so whats its output when its stalled? its not rotating. its not making any HORSE POWER.
or... to be really sneaking... its not moving 330,000lbs 1 foot every... awe hell, i forget if its a minute or hour...
THAT is the MOST MEANINGFUL figure any electric motor manufacturer can tell you. STALL TORQUE. along with max rpm, and efficiency.
a squirrel cage or synchronous AC motor is a great example of an electric motor with pathetic "stall torque". so bad it simply doesnt start by itself, and will only run when close to its synchronous speed.
@@paradiselost9946 1 HP is defined as the power that lifts 75 kilogram for 1 meter in one second. Equivalent to 736 watt. It is not meaningless. Combustion engines have sweet spot where torque is maximum at a certain RPM. Electric motors not so much. The conversion of electric input power is more linear to mechanical output.
Interesting, but small Error: Tesla's Plaid Powertrain uses just 3 Motors! Not 4!
Imagine what this could do in a motorbike
Not much. Gonna need a lot of battery space to deliver 225Kw of electrical power for any longer than a few minutes.
Or maybe just a long extension lead?
Look at Verge Motorcycles & be amazed! Simply Brilliant & Brilliantly Simple. You can't get motor loud & direct than that? The shortest possible drivetrain! Enjoy!
the new version has a cooling system.hope they build an electric scooter.👽
I guess the world is in need of good technology, keep it up.
The price tag must be nauseating.
it could resist for brick maker machine??? price??
I like to have this Motor to convert my Honda GROM into an electric bike 😀
beware of the gyroscope effect on the heavy flywheel inside the motor ❗
Imagine what would happen if Christian and Elon and Mate Rimac all joined their combined brain power and business acumen together. The world would be a better place.
I don't see Elon wanting to share anything.
The world will be much better for shure but not with the help of those 3 ....i think hydrogen cars are the future not electric ones ...the electric are more poluant than a regular petrol car
The three remind me of Ferdinand Porsche and Soichiro Honda. Streaks of light amidst all the fakery, pointless decoration and marketing driven bs industry.
@@lastminutesolutions The two you mention were true innovators.
Ferdinand Porsche in the the of the 19th century presented the 1st hybrid car. Elon on the other way used (huge) dads money usurped the name of a true genius to give him e-credibility and it's actions are on plain site. Smoke and mirrors.
Soichiro Honda was another passionate visionary. Let's wait to see how the other three will fare in the next decades before hastily calling them streaks of light.
Can you afford any one of the cars they produce..... This is rich white people nonsense
Sure it would be impressive if they didn't require heavy batteries
We want more details
did anyone else notice the slew of mistakes on this video? The tesla plaid has 3 motors, not 4. so the HP is higher on the plaid on a per motor basis than the "raxial" motor. Then over and over the horsepower stated is 330hp while the text keeps saying 300hp. But the motor has 250kw stamped on it which is about 335. So technically neither the text or what is stated is correct. Then the efficiency number is never given either. So how can you say it is less power consumption if you dont have anything to compare it to? there isnt much to redeem this video.
All that engineering and innovation wasted on a limited hypercars that people will have sitting in garages.
everything is made for the elites, in fact they shame, blame , force and forbide working people to use normal cars, for polution but if they give a fuck about polution they let the slaves work remote... imagine the poluton decrease, instead they parade around in their super poluting jets and hyper cars...... even if they make eletric ferraris the elites will laugh at any inconvenience for them....
How about its cooling?
Now, we have the dark matter
On the title is 600HP, on the thumbnail is the 330HP that’s how is speculation possible, so where is the true?
I'm thinking Scooters❣️
Como consigo comprar sistema motor e controlador desse
ed il pacco batterie QUANTO PESA ?
I want to see that one kg, eleven horsepower engine, multiplied by four, mounted in the hubs of a 600kg car. Is here where the revolution lies, not in a hypercar.
I do wish they were using a real human voice
Unpeeled coconut... is that an SI unit?
How much can it be bought
I want to build a plasma quantum motor.
Il existe un nouvel embrayage et frein hydraulique par perte de charge beaucoup plus compact
Put them up for sale. Otherwise, we will use Cascadia.
Wow
price????
price vs performance
petrol engines just cant compete with electric motors, but batteries let it down for practicality ???
is this an AI voice? Sounds so strange
I wish companies like this would sell the motor, battery, and other parts, as a pack to install on any car we wanted. The "ev packs" i've seen online are all cheap chinese garbage.
Pls produce for normal car.
Read by a bot or person unfamiliar w English. Small prob but distracting.
i'am sorry with that. but we will try to fix it next time 🙏
@@ft-shareinternational2146 is it really a bot? Is sounds like a real person but not the whole time.
@@pasiutrial of course its bot. everything with that smooth, perfectly timed voice with strange inflections on certain words... and absolutely no errors like "um", coughs, sniffs, or simply pronouncing the same word slightly differently, is a bot.

oh, and some "ron burgundy" they will read ANYTHING "on the teleprompter".
Electric death . Gas is Greener
I need 100kw motor
Bike motor ...
Koenigsegg blatantly stole YASA Motors' design while it was developing the Regera. There is nothing Radial about that 'RAxial' Quark Motor. It is a near-identical YASA axial flux motor in design. Changing the material composition of a shaft to carbon fiber is not a breakthrough. How sad for Koenigsegg to be ripping off other company's technology and trying to fool people by falsely claiming Radial capability along with axial. Sadly, this is a clear sign that Koenigsegg has stopped innovating and given up on being respected, and is instead prioritizing money-making.
I think that if that were true, YASA would be on the warpath, legally. At any rate, I don't think the combo motor would be economically feasible to compete with the YASA. I'd like to see the design logistics support analysis between the two.
I am interested in price point of either Yasa or Quark. Any info on price for unit responsible for 350 hp?
