It’s crazy Finn is a reincarnation of Shoko and he ended up with 1 arm bcuz of his dad.. similar to her parents selling her arm. Thanks for this full timeline!
@damsen978 Tldr, the Grass Blade was Finn's arm for a while, but it fused with a sword that is actually a paradox-duplicate of Finn to create Fern. Full version, Finn lost his arm trying to grab onto Martin. He was then left with just a flower and a residual limb. The flower grew into a tree, which burst open revealing a new arm. This arm was actually the Grass Blade, as shown by the fact it has a thorn on the palm that lashes out when Finn is in trouble. It's skipped over in this video, but Prismo came back to life by making a bro-bond with Jake strong enough that, by finishing Prismo's pickles he gets stuck in a time loop in Prismo's Time Room. By falling asleep on a bed that past Prismo set up, Jake's dreams case Prismo to re-manifest. Prismo then has Finn, who used the pickles to enter the time loop, to wake up Jake, telling Finn to wait a little bit and then stop the other him from earlier in the loop from waking Jake up. Finn stops Paradox-Finn from waking up Paradox-Jake, which causes Paradox-Finn to explode and turn into a sword. The Finn Sword becomes Finn's main sword for a while, and it has a reflection of Paradox-Finn in it's crystal that Finn asks for advice from (though only gets answers in the form of head shakes.) But, Finn gets reckless and drops it off a cliff, where it is then stolen by Bandit Princess before Finn can find it. By recieving dream messages from the Finn Sword, Finn hunts down Bandit Princess and fights her to get back the sword-him. During this fight, he accidentally stabs the crystal with Paradox-Finn in it with the Grass Blade, transferring the curse to the Finn Sword. Finn gets depressed about killing one of himselves, but continues to use the sword. After the fight with Susan in Pre/Reboot, Finn's grass arm crawls off of him and fuses with the Finn Sword, creating Fern, who is Paradox-Finn unknowingly possessed by the demon that inhabits the Grass Blade, using the Grass Blade to form a body.
Yeah they are basically telling there are some fixed points in every life of every dimension of an individual because also Ice Finn and dream world Finn lost their arms. I'm sure this is pointed out with other examples as well I just can't remember now.
And three incarnations of his body get buried in the same place, that willow tree. First shoko then Fern then that Finn sword at the end of the finale that they find at the top of the tree.
Ive watched the entire series twice, a couple years apart, and it was even better the second time through. Theres simply an overwhelming amount of lore to take in.
Adventure time is that show where on your 2nd or 3rd watch you expect it to be more dull but you just uncover more and more in your watches, or just merely enjoy the show, nothing detective.
Pretty neat to think about how Finn grew up with the audience during the show, and I'm not just meaning in age. The boy's been through a lot, each adventure making him a little wiser, going from a bombastic youth to courageous young man, which is like the transformations we, the audience, go through while the show goes on. Not a lot of shows do that, characters remaining on one note the entire way, Finn's a special one.
The show shaped all of our childhood one way or another. I remember sitting in front of the TV all day and all night for the show and after watching the recap of the show, it really got me emotional.
It's hard to express how much Adventure Time means to me. Not only through it's deep story telling and character development, but also as a weirdo with a vision. It's easy for me to worry about being judged negatively or not good enough but AT inspires me to follow my heart and be true to myself 🙌
This recap made me remember so many things, I forgot how goofy and wacky the first few seasons were, I remember more of the mature and heavy last few seasons it was such a good show def one of a kind with an amazing world and full of great characters I miss it a lot
Adventure time and The Last Airbender are 2 shows that stand above the rest, both start out as fun silly cartoons but then evolve into these amazing shows with complexity and depth to them unlike ive seen in any other cartoon. the fact you actually see the characters grow and mature over the course of the shows sets them apart from the rest. They werent afraid of going into the dark shoving us down a rabbit hole of holy shit this world is more fucked up than we realized AND I LOVE IT, both of these shows are truly shows i will go back and gladly rewatch them even tho i know how they go i love seeing everything happen again and again. God damnit now im gonna rewatch the show again cause of this vid. Good work on making this!
Adventure Time is the deepest lore I’ve ever seen in a cartoon. I love the flashbacks and that Flapjack thing blew my mind. I’ve been in a deep dive and damn blew my mind even more
Jake had the ability to turn his imagination to reality(show about raining knife and lava floor). Maybe jake imagination finn as strong and determined, making fin actually able to defeat creatures. This is what I think
Great vid, always love your cartoon summaries. there are some details that weren't touched on (the story and lore is just way too dense like that) - Jake is blue after elements because he is actually half dog half alien (which is why he can sharpshift while his parents and brother can't) - gumbald and the other family members became normal again after lumpy space princess reverted everyone from their elemental forms to their original forms - Betty became magic and crazy because of an experiment gone wrong. She was trying to find the cause of magic, the experiment involved mgic man, and they ended up swapping madness. Magic man became normal man and eventually the king of Mars as shown at the end of the video - fern, the grass blade version of Finn, is a mixture between the entity in the grass sword, and the entity in the Finn sword. The Finn sword is the sword that was found at the top of the tree house at the end of the story. Finn sword was made due to a paradox when Finn and Jake revived prismo. Finn and Jake went back in time, therefore two versions of them existed. Jake became the sleeping man who dreamt of prismo, and Finn became the Finn sword
I like to think that the show starts off silly and becomes more and more complex as an analogy for growing up as Finn is a young boy. I know it’s probably just head cannon but I find the idea so fascinating
Found this video on a random wild trip down youtube videos just lookin for something to pass the time and let the stress just wash away. the way the video is laid out kind of messed with me but right at the end, you tied everything together with one clean, neat, fantastic knot and the story was finished. I was using this as something to just disappear into, the way you spoke and the excitement in your voice at times, as well as the moments where you were clearly uncomfortable with or otherwise sadden by really showed in your tone, driving home the emotions that were felt when you watched the episodes. I was so entranced by the story that I never saw growing up and the way you laid it all out that I found myself lost in it. By the end of your video I felt myself on the verge of tears because of it, but I collected myself and reassured my own mind that there are plenty more stories to get lost in and travel down those paths with you again. You've made me excited to listen to more of these stories and have gained yourself one very happy subscriber. Please don't on these, and don't give up on yourself. I can only imagine what the toll of piecing all of these tales together must be then putting it all together in a way that conveys the beautiful world that people create. Thanks for lighting a fire in my heart that I thought I had lost.
I remember how i was a kid i would be scared of specific characters, but its so nostalgic for me that im currently crying a bit watching this whole re cap because it makes me remember simpler times where i wasn't so busy doing things
Adventure time is an amazing example of a show that really bided it's time, even from the first episode in the intro, the true tone was right in our face, disguised by the goofy nature of the earlier seasons. I love this cartoon with all my heart, it had a clear vision before the first episode aired.
Absolutely beautiful. I love how you explained it all. I haven't been able to watch the show on anything and decided to seek youtube for episodes and ended up finding this. Really glad I clicked on this rather than clicking on a pirated episode or something. The ending is beautiful.

This story is incredible, as we watch the characters grow up with us. I started watching this show when my age was a single digit, when my voice was just as high as Finns. But we've both grown older and you can hear it throughout the later seasons. All of us are growing older, the characters, the watchers. It just makes us appreciate it more and more. As children the show taught us to be kind, have honour, and to grow morals. As teens it taught us to be wary of people, to love ourselves, and to not be afraid of new things. As adults it taught us that eventually everything will end. Yes it will make us sad. But the journey from start to finish will always be in our memories. Even our own Vaults. Our own memories we repress for one reason or another, will always be a part of us, and we'll all eventually come to terms with our past and make peace with it. It started with a boy and his dog going on adventures. And it ended with a small robot telling a story to two young adventurers, who find a sword atop an old tree, and presumably, have their own. As we tell our children our stories, and watch as they go off and make their own. It's a masterpiece of film and is truly not appreciated enough.
I love how anyone who watches the first season probably think its just a fun and silly episodic show. Then the story starts to really open up with so much lore and story. So much complexity and introspectiveness that you just wont find in other animated "kid" show. The world building is unparalleled to any other animated show as far as I'm concerned. Adventure Time has been my favorite show since I originally watched it, an extremely close second is Avatar the Last Airbender.
Adventure time was always close to my heart. It premiered on my 13th birthday, so I always remember it's anniversary. The fact it was also me becoming a teenager made it hit a little closer, as I was finally able to do things on my own, similar to how Finn did things on his own (Well with Jake, but you get the idea.) I still haven't seen most of the later seasons, but fully intend on rewatching it all the way through sometime soon.
@@mushromus7764 It's absolutely upper mid. It had some good character writing and the early phases of the post apocalypse storyline was well done..... Right up until it suddenly turns into Days of our Lives with pretty colors. Then it's closer to a neckbeard's Erp fanfic than an actual show.😂

If you make a second video, I'd really like to hear about the first 4 seasons, since it seems that every episode with continuity happens after that season. Also about Jake's family ascending and descending, and Fiona.
What made me love Adventure Time so much is that its a show that grew up with it audience. The show started as a simple Adventure show about a boy and his dog, before slowly adding in a dark story about horrific creatures that want to destroy life,
I was never able to follow the show when it was still airing all those years ago, as a kid, I thought it was just a mashup of fun stuff for kids to watch. But now, it hits harder than life.
One of the best series ever, and although I though the ending was perfect, they still keep coming out with new episodes that I cant help but love just as much. They really do Adventure Time justice.
This show is really one of the best I've ever seen. The music is great! The story is great! I love how there is a mix of cuteness and existentialism. Happiness and emotional pain. I love this show so so much! ❤
I understood the whole video, but had some questions that never got answered, or maybe i tuned out for a moment when it was addresseed, but 1. What happened to Finn's dad? when Finn was a baby he sacrificed himself to save him, but then much later becomes a prisoner of the whatever they were called (What'd he do??) and then doesn't care about Finn at all, when he promised in the past to come back for him. What the flip happened?? 2. A much shorter question. who is Prismo's boss? My only theory is it's probably just the creator of the show and Prismo was "going to get in trouble" because the story was being warped and bended between timelines
Fictional worlds as fully realized as the land of OOO are really rare and special. As far as stories that take place in a world other than our own go, only a few can be said to have worlds that feel lived in and real in their own right. It's up there with the Great Blue of One Piece, and Middle Earth from The Lord of The Rings.

Loved this show as a kid and I'm glad a video like this exists to beautifully summarize its main bits. Would love to see more Adventure Time vids diving in deeper into other characters (e.g. PB and Jake) and their relationships (e.g. what happened to Finn and Flame princess?).
That was quite a lot to take in, even though I watched the entirety of the Adventure Time. Basically grew with that cartoon. Thank you very much for that content.
I remember enjoying the show because it was wacky and weird and - dare I say - "lolrandom", and I enjoyed that kinda stuff. But I remember getting REALLY invested when they started hinting at there being something more to it, around the time they started hinting to there being more to Marceline and Simon was when I realized "oh the zany wacky show's going deeper. It's got legs. Strap in, me." I still maintain that the "Thirsty Finn" phase is the most painful to sit through, though.
Man, thank you for making this video! In this video, I saw some episodes that I've never saw on the television in my country. In Bulgaria, a big part of the episodes were censored or completely banned.

What I always admired about Adventure Time and the world of Ooo that it doesn’t have a floating or frozen timeline. Characters age! And not only do they age, but their personalities change. Theres a history before the show and one after. Long after. If someone 25 years from now wants to restart Adventure Time, they can just start telling the story without rebooting and erasing everything.
49:24 You know I never got a chance to watch the show, because when it was still airing, my family didn't have the money to watch TV shows, and when we did the show ended. So being able to see it now its really cool. Oh also this clip is funny and kinda wholesome
I never knew the show had such a deep storyline. I just thought the world "reset back to factory settings" after every episode. But it probably has to do with me growing up and i basically stopped watching tv, aswell as me being swedish, there was A LOT of re-runs. As far as i knew maybe not all episodes were dubbed. But damn as i said, i'm flashed! Thank you so much for the video and the explanation. I knew something wasn't right when i saw some pictures with finn's arm being metal and i finally have the answer.
Adventure time is my number 1 show of all time, its something i always looked apon with amazement and i love how a normal seeming episode can turn out to be a lore bomb

Adventure time was WILD man. So glad I got to experience from start to finish and is back, kind of...Fiona and cake. AT has potential for Inifnite stories and has one of the best ending
This wasn't just an animated series for me. It was part of my childhood, and i lived with it. The crasy thing is series such as this, shows us the start and end of a person's life his adventures, his friends and loved ones, his enemies, his fights and so on which we all can relate to it. Ending every show is like losing a part of you. just like how the characters got forgotten and the end.
Why is this split into segments, rather than just... telling the story? It's hard to follow when the setting keeps jumping around and the narrative is constantly interrupted by "...as I explained in this other section" when it easily could just be explained then

Watched it when I was extremely young and then rewatched it at 17. It’s amazing
So... is the show actually all shuffled up in its time line like this video is?
@@soulance8342 There's a lot of flashbacks
yep. i watch the entire series basically annually. it always draws me back in
Pretty neat to think about how Finn grew up with the audience during the show, and I'm not just meaning in age. The boy's been through a lot, each adventure making him a little wiser, going from a bombastic youth to courageous young man, which is like the transformations we, the audience, go through while the show goes on. Not a lot of shows do that, characters remaining on one note the entire way, Finn's a special one.
Indeed.
The show shaped all of our childhood one way or another. I remember sitting in front of the TV all day and all night for the show and after watching the recap of the show, it really got me emotional.
When the video ended I literally got chills. Proves how good this series was for me
It's hard to express how much Adventure Time means to me.

I’ve been in a deep dive and damn blew my mind even more
Finn being able to punch Marceline and hurt her in her giant bat form should have been the first sign of his superhuman strength.
Yo fr, imagine a normal human tries to punch and either cant, or it just doesnt work
@@Think_mate_lol You would have a similar result to Trevor vs Dracula in the Netflix Castlevania
he was the comet
Jake had the ability to turn his imagination to reality(show about raining knife and lava floor). Maybe jake imagination finn as strong and determined, making fin actually able to defeat creatures. This is what I think
Great vid, always love your cartoon summaries.
there are some details that weren't touched on (the story and lore is just way too dense like that)
- Jake is blue after elements because he is actually half dog half alien (which is why he can sharpshift while his parents and brother can't)
- gumbald and the other family members became normal again after lumpy space princess reverted everyone from their elemental forms to their original forms
- Betty became magic and crazy because of an experiment gone wrong. She was trying to find the cause of magic, the experiment involved mgic man, and they ended up swapping madness. Magic man became normal man and eventually the king of Mars as shown at the end of the video
- fern, the grass blade version of Finn, is a mixture between the entity in the grass sword, and the entity in the Finn sword.
This recap was honestly perfect. Just what I needed for the new Fionna and Cake series
I like to think that the show starts off silly and becomes more and more complex as an analogy for growing up as Finn is a young boy. I know it’s probably just head cannon but I find the idea so fascinating
WOWWW!!! This was SO good! Thank you for all the care. You did a great job with this video!!!!
I remember how i was a kid i would be scared of specific characters, but its so nostalgic for me that im currently crying a bit watching this whole re cap because it makes me remember simpler times where i wasn't so busy doing things
beautifull comment also me too X(
I was soooooo sad when it ended, the way they ended the last episode was absolutely perfect, makes ya cry
The ending is beautiful.
this is actually what I love about American Cartoons it lasts long but it doesn't have it stay for too long, just enough for it to grow alongside us, and it fits well with the TV schedule format as some episodes can be played back-to-back
not all american cartoons. only the best ones.
they rarely played the story episodes as reruns, i never caught it live so i only saw the goofy ones that dont cover any lore
The channels hate American cartoons though. No G:KND though. Only shit stains called "We Bare Bears" though.
@@somratkhan8688we bare bears is a fun wholesome show, it doesn't have to have super complex lore and traumatic character pasts for it to be a good show
i remeber being a 8-9yr old kid watching adventure time for the first time. it was a silly and fun show at the start and i loved it. as the show went on and the lore got deeper i was also hitting the age where i could understand the lore, and that made the viewing experience even more special. growing up with the show was something i’ll always remember, every time i rewatch it i love it even more
I'm 37 and started watching it with my daughter a few years ago. It's awesome it's amazing for her, and has plenty of "heavy" topics beneath the surface to have me engaged as well.
Jake isn't Finn's dog, they're literal brothers
Edit: Maybe not literal, but still adopted brothers
not that literal... but yes they re "brothers". ( Jake is not Joshuas actual kid, his father was an alien.. and finn has no biological connections to them )

I am in TEARS 😭💛 My childhood all played out in an hour and a half- I just felt a nostalgia I didn’t remember existed
Ice King is my favourite character in Adventure Time, his backstory is so incredibly sad and you don't even hear about it out until season 4.
Adventure Time has been my favorite show since I originally watched it, an extremely close second is Avatar the Last Airbender.
dont forget Ninjago
Adventure time was always close to my heart. It premiered on my 13th birthday, so I always remember it's anniversary. The fact it was also me becoming a teenager made it hit a little closer, as I was finally able to do things on my own, similar to how Finn did things on his own (Well with Jake, but you get the idea.)
I still haven't seen most of the later seasons, but fully intend on rewatching it all the way through sometime soon.
Definitely watch the whole show, especially with such a close connection to it!
I had fun too. One of the rarest occasion I don't regret spending an hour watching. Nice work man.
Simon and Marcelines story is always a tear jerker
Was wondering when u were gonna add this, adventure time is like the most lore filled cartoon network show of all time
I mean adventure time seems like it's still going with Fiona and Cake
"Lore filled" does not equal "good."

If you make a second video, I'd really like to hear about the first 4 seasons, since it seems that every episode with continuity happens after that season. Also about Jake's family ascending and descending, and Fiona.
This was the best and most concise recap I've ever watched. Thank you to everyone who put in work to make this video possible.
as soon as you started talking about simon and marceline i immediately began bawling, it hurts too much
What made me love Adventure Time so much is that its a show that grew up with it audience.

This channel is so new and I already love all the work! Thank you!
I understood the whole video, but had some questions that never got answered, or maybe i tuned out for a moment when it was addresseed, but
"but unlike hunson, marceline has a kind heart."
two seconds later:
"marceline turned into a giant bat , aiming to kill this time"
Hudson Abidere saying that Gunther had an evil soul was a huge foreshadow 😅

Fictional worlds as fully realized as the land of OOO are really rare and special. As far as stories that take place in a world other than our own go, only a few can be said to have worlds that feel lived in and real in their own right. It's up there with the Great Blue of One Piece, and Middle Earth from The Lord of The Rings.
Adventure Time was my favourite show growing up! I was prime age when it came out, I remember the year it premiered and I graduated hs the year it finished. Would love to see more Adventure Time vids diving in deeper into other characters (e.g. PB and Jake) and their relationships (e.g. what happened to Finn and Flame princess?).
The writers got bored of that fetish and moved on to putting a different fetish into a kids show.
That was quite a lot to take in, even though I watched the entirety of the Adventure Time. Basically grew with that cartoon.

I laugh each time ice king is like "awe man well im outta here " when hearing PB turned 13 🤣🤣

And not only do they age, but their personalities change. Theres a history before the show and one after. Long after.
If someone 25 years from now wants to restart Adventure Time, they can just start telling the story without rebooting and erasing everything.

Yeah! Like Star. Wars and Star Trek!
The last great era of cartoons. It will never be this good again.
