I watched a video yesterday and thought of you sir .. the man made a boomerang from two pieces of wood and pinetar … another …. A pleasure to watch video badger brother 🫡💪
@@Sticksoutdoors two part boomerang would be a damn site easier than trying to chop through a log, the other thing is my natural glue isn't strong enough, maybe with dovetail joints or something. Food for thought though bud thanks 🫡✌️
Great a no nonesense back to basics stuff. I can just remember as a kid in the 60s seasonal agric workers would live like this on my grandparents place. They would also mend and make stuff like clothes pegs, Hazel hurdles, selling them locally. My Nan loved it as the Coppicing got done for free the workers got the materials they needed😊
@@michaelbardill5310 I've been an agricultural worker for the most part and this makes perfect sense moving with the crops a bender pole tent would be a great option, maybe a few horse drawn wagons with barrel tops as well I bet. Thanks for your insight this explains a few things. Firstly where my love for this style comes from 👍👍
@badgerandthewoodsman I find it sad that these days that this kind of way of life is gone. I'm in my early 60s. Back in the 80s there were still the odd folks doing this in the Peak District, as I did myself. As time moved on outsiders bought up most of the land and property, the dislike started. Worked with a Heavy Horses Tushing team for awhile......truly magical Clydesdales. And all this was green eco friendly even before the concept was made up. You keep going as I intend too.
@ damn ,wish we could meet, I would pick your brain all day for snippets of times gone by, so pleased someone gets me and things I aspire to. There was a small revival in the early 90s with the bender tent. I just don’t get why people spend so much money for something that should not cost much. Because it was a very valid way of life for many people in the workplace, thank you my friend 🙌🫡
Greetings, been watching your vids on my tele and just getting back to commenting, fully watched, enjoy the conversations about bushcraft tools and your creations, including the walking stick, its great to watch the thought process as much as the creating, an important part to survival is the common sense and practical approach and you have that gift shine in the content, thank you for sharing another great clip.
@@NatureInspiredSnipsnSnaps aww thanks Connie lass, I really appreciate and respect you and what you do. Have you ever heard of a bark shanty ? I would make a front on that shelter with a window . Don't know how id make it . ☺️. Your shelter looks very protected . Get your saw , get rid of the risks ? .
@@lifesahobby bark shanty? No I will have to look it up, shanty singers? It is a great observation post a window would be awesome. Yea the dead standing is getting chopped soon I think there are about 5 tall ones that need to be passived/ made safe. Thanks Owen your opinion is valued 🫡👍
Just watched a bunch of your video's,great content indeed. The stove pipe was something I played with but couldn't find the ones who connected like the ones you had found. Is this still on the 4 acres? Looks like a great place.
@@sosteve9113 thank you so much! Yes I'm still at 4 acres. I've found the cheapest tins usually connect together with a click like morrisons super saver range, hope this helps, BatW ✌️👍

4 acres looks like a big plot you can utilize.
