I happened to hear this song performed by Chinese singer Tan Wei Wei, and tried very hard to find a version sung in Mongolian until now. The arrangement itself here doesn't sound very traditional? Rather, it sounds quite modern. Yeah, I heard that Chinese version. It`s quite good, actually. But I think, you do not know or misunderstood about the original Mongolian version. First of all, the Chinese version`s lyrics is changed into a completely different one than the original one. The original one is a love song which means a happy song, not about the loss of a loved one which the Chinese version is about.Second of all, this song is not a traditional Mongolian folk song. It`s a pop song or using your word is a quite modern song. Actually, this version is an exact or a really closer copy of the song`s original released version in early 80s. I do not understand why Chinese are arranged this song into a traditional way. Maybe, they just want to appeal sad and sentimental and emotional lyrics of the Chinese version of this song.
