There would be no Johnny Cash without Luther Perkins. Cash brought the voice but that legendary sound was all Luther. That’s pretty much what this song means. They was just a plain ole country band….but when Luther played the guitar it birthed a legend
I’m 66 and I just now found out there was a thing called The Marty Stewart Show. Damnation it’s good. I very much recommend the Otis Gibbs interview with Kenny Vaughn on UA-cam. He talks about appearing on Letterman with Marty Stewart so I looked it up and it about blew my mind. Boy howdy!
I just can't understand how this stuff is falling by the wayside and taking a backseat to this modern BULLSHIT on the radio. You'd think that any person with right mind would realize that this is the hottest damned band in country. Not to mention it's just downright fun to listen too. Such great pickers.
Somethin' about that Marty, he has such an appreciation for the ol' country Greats! Maybe because he grew up playing music with almost all of them.....I sure do love him! When I see him he makes my heart skip a beat!!
Iv'e watched as many of the Marty Stuart Shows on UA-cam as I can as we don't get the TV show here in Ireland and I have to say what a smashing show with fantastic music. Marty and the Superlatives are all superb Musicians and It's Country music at it's best.
Superlative!! Saw him at the Smokey Mt. Center in Franklin NC last year. The best show I've ever seen of it's kind, or most any kind for that matter. Period.
❤️ when I was a little girl we saw Johnny Cash and his Tennessee Three, the Carter Sisters WITH Mother Maybelle and some GRAND musical others. We got to meet JC backstage and he was a beautiful person. ❤️ soooo Luther, it was an honor to see him play his guitar.
What you should have done is at the time there should have been a report on why Marty Stuart left. Especially if he chose to leave. As with any body that you make a big deal they are on You should report when they leave. We were all left to wounder why.We loved Sat night because he was on. We LOVE 💘 Marty Stuart. Nancy and Ron Wood. 210 franlin st. New Boston il.
Thank you so much Liam for sharing Marty Stuart shows with us...it's really appreciate....I love Marty he's such a great musician so talented......I enjoy it very much I hope you're gonna share many others of Marty....Thank you again...
I love all this best old song,I miss all my past memories sometimes it's made me cry ang laugh,..all the special moments in my life it remind me,I miss it,God bless to our listeners 💖💖💖
understand from what I've read that the reason Luthur played so strange is ,because the used guitar he learned to play on, had no controls that worked so he used to palm mute the bass strings
I appreciate Marty's keeping the old, REAL country music going full blast. Looks like the corporate cross-over, pop syrup crowd hasn't gotten to Marty, yet. If only he could sound and play mush like Taylor S., right guys?
jennifur sun They are beautiful guitars, i really like the old all mahogany ones like the 0-15 & 0-17 models, they are still relatively affordable when compared with the old D-18 & 28's, Peace.
Right on, DC--I wouldn't worry too much, there are so many SSI recipients these days like ES with nothing to do but surf the web and snark, that is when they're not calling their dope dealer on their ObamaPhone.... Marty is the best! He's like a walking encyclopedia of country--one of the last acts you could tell a youngster to go see and get a genuine taste of what the original heroes were really like! (Yes I know Willie's still with us, but you know what I mean).
Kenny is a monster... just killing it every time he touches the axe
👊i concur !
Marty and the Superlatives make traditional and non-traditional country appealing to the masses. Thank you, guys!
There would be no Johnny Cash without Luther Perkins. Cash brought the voice but that legendary sound was all Luther. That’s pretty much what this song means. They was just a plain ole country band….but when Luther played the guitar it birthed a legend
Marty is our connection to the golden age of country music.....pre Garth Brooks and his head gear

Yeh, I never saw it on TV down here in Florida, either ...
Superlative!! Saw him at the Smokey Mt. Center in Franklin NC last year. The best show I've ever seen of it's kind, or most any kind for that matter. Period.

Damn - what a band!
Ooh wee Kenny! Your so calm and collected and you !!🎸
That may be the best entertainment in America.
Was just a kid listnen to my parents Johnny cash record and his version. Loved the lyrics and the tempo played it over and over.
That’s a tongue twister 🌪️ repeating “Luther/Kenny played the boogie-woogie!”
Ole Kenny playing the heck out of that telecaster!!
Love Marty he is so Country and more,,
OMG, this band is the coolest!!!
RFD TV What the hell were you drinking ??? Ditching Marty ??? He IS the coolest thing that was ever on your channel.
They didn't ditch him right? He moved on to other pastures from what I gather. They would never dump a legend.

Kenny Vaughan is soooo good! I first saw him years ago with Lucinda Williams.

That's why they called them the "Strangers"....Come to Machiasport, we love Yah
Good grief. These guys are great.

Awwwww yeah!!!!
Marty Stewart should do a bluegrass/jazz tour with Brian Setzer.
I only really like the Ramones and Marty Stuart .
Is that a real Pre-War Martin D-45 Marty's playing ?, it looks like it !!, Peace.
+Keiran Bradley if it is it is worth $$$
jennifur sun Maybe Johnny Cash gave it to him, i know Johnny had one, Him & Johnny are/where friends.
jennifur sun It would be worth 100K+ on it's own never mind the celebrity musician connection !!, Peace.
+Keiran Bradley could be. seems like a lot of the older Country singers had Martins. havent found one yet i didn't like the sound of
jennifur sun They are beautiful guitars, i really like the old all mahogany ones like the 0-15 & 0-17 models, they are still relatively affordable when compared with the old D-18 & 28's, Peace.

"Fabulous Superlatives" is NOT an exaggeration here.
Marty is way cool
LOVE that Shirt and his drummer looks like he is having sooo much fun
I love Marty & Kenny purr country ❤❤❤❤
14 crazy people
He played on Little Miss Muffett's last record, didn't he? I just hope she doesn't make him into one of those vegematarians.
still wish he would have had J. D. Fontana and Scotty Moore on this show
still wonder if that is Johnnys old guitar Marty is playing
I learned to play by listening to Luther. of course I can't hit Luthers lick either.
is that Johnnys old Martin Marty is playing
This one here's a dandy
LOL...guess its back to the drawing board for you mr Hank Marvin...this guy sure can pick&pluck.
I guess its a telecaster!
Thanks to Keith Clark for the Amp description!

Is the amp a princeton silverface?
nobody can hit Luthers lick.
What is Kenny runing his strat thru? Amp? sounds great!
No Strat ! A Telecaster !
@@claudegodefroid6407 Thank you I mis-spoke! Tele it is.
Was thinking more of what amp he was using because I liked the sound. Princeton Silverface?
Kenny could "run" through a paper cup on a string and he'd still sound great.
@@PLINKER That's why there's an edit feature, man.
Why is the videoquality so crappy? The sound seems ok.
MUY BUENO DE DIEZ
YEE HAW !
Marty just filled out didn't he.
Luther is still so much better ... it ain't about notes!
I strongly disagree because kenny Vaughn is much better than Luther Perkins ever was
Sorry to tell you the truth
you are wrong
Now,if that don't move ya,button will!
loved :30
