It doesn't matter if the noodles are too much you want a meat eggrolls then put more meat instead of bring it down. Why can't you people comment constructive comments like nice decent people instead of always trying to bring ppl down -_-
There are many different types of Eggrolls in which originated from China. We Hmong are originally FROM China. Every family's got their own special recipe.
I LOVE some Hmong style eggrolls! My Hmong girlfriend back in the day in Minneapolis showed me how to make these. So delicious and I love cooking them for my own family. I really like your recipe too! Its so easy and delicious! Could you share some more dipping sauce recipes/ideas? YUMMY!
@SHENGGGX3 Hi, thanks for your feedback. Most of the food on this channel are influenced by other cultures. I wanted to focus on the food of my era and what is a common dish at other Hmong houses. I called it Hmong eggrolls because this is how we typically make it, I'm not saying we invented it. I value your opinion and it is very valid :-) Thank you.
OMG, these look so Yummy. i never seen them with the noodles before, i bet they are so good! never tired to do them before, but now i want to! Thanks for sharing!
I'm German/American, but I grew up in a city with a huge hmong population, I miss this food so much I'm going to attempt to make my own in Texas, I can't find anything like the hmong delis and markets that I grew up with in Minnesota 😂
yes yes...i love egg rolls...and everyone makes it different...don't hate...just be glad she's showing u how to make it LOL...by the way it's not STOLEN...thats just her way of making her own eggrolls...
Okay I know this video is old but I am curious what brand of noodles is your go-to? I used to make these in high school with Asian club and I’m craving them so bad lately. I don’t wanna mess them up! 🤣
Yes you can. I don't cook mine because I don't add a lot of meat. But if you want, you can cook your meat until its slightly brown but not cooked all the way through.
Hey Annie, thank you so much for showing this video to those who never know how to make egg rolls. I learned from your video. And you are absolutely right? There is no right or wrong to make egg rolls. Mahalo sister!
These look so delicious! Can they be fried and then frozen? Or should they be frozen and thawed before frying? I'm thinking about the pork in them, also that the recipe makes quite a number of them. Excellent presentation; thank you.
One benefit to frying and then freezing is you only need to fry a batch of eggrolls one time, rather than having to fry eggrolls EVERY time you want them for a meal (gets kind of messy). My family fried them and would freeze them so all we needed to do was heat them up in the oven.
I like your recipe,Annie, I am gonna try it myself 'coz I am buying it cooked but not really satisfied, of course, home made is much better, Keep up the the good work, Thanks!
Oh My!!!! You recorded on your new iphone??? The quality is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G... just more than what I expected xD.... Hehe! BTW... somehow whenever I cooked this recipe... I ended up bunch of the eggroll before serving them on the table xD.... Such a shame... lolz!!!
Looks good... Interesting too... I never saw one with vermicelli noodles... Mine always ends up getting burnt little bit because I don't put much veggies. Mostly meat-- more moisture it creates I believe and opens up in parts... Would like to try it with veggies and noodles next time...
@maiphuonglinh Yes Linh! All my videos were recorded on my iPhone 4S. I also edit using iMovie app, super easy and simple. I also love Vietnamese style eggrolls too... so Good!!!!!
I LOVE Hmong egg rolls! This looks like a great recipe or at least a great base if you wanted to change it up some! I have a few questions can you roll these these ahead of time and fry later like the next day? also can you freeze them raw and fry at a later date? If you need to fry before freezing how do you get the crunch back do you refry or will they crisp back up in the microwave?
you can freeze them (but freeze well) before frying them. I've done this to make multiples for fundraising. if you fry it then freeze then fry, it isn't crunchy (from my experience).
What is the sauce called that's like spicy fish sauce with with lime and I think maybe cilantro or green onion, it's not sweet, but the hmong ppl where I grew up serve it, and it's soo yummy
It's optional. My boyfriend's family likes to cook the pork before rolling because they don't like to fry the egg rolls for a very long time. I, on the other hand, like mine raw so I can fry the egg roll for a longer period to get that crisp, golden brown color.
Hi there! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Hmong egg rolls! I will be using your tutorial video and I was curious, are you suppose to cook the pork before packing the egg roll??
@brookhurstus Honestly, do you see french people complaining about how some of Vietnamese dishes take their french influences? Food is influenced by culture, region, location, and availability of ingredients. I'm not a food historian nor claim to be. Just enjoy the food and relax.
Annie, Congratulations! Love it. Cannot wait to try it at home. :) By the way don't listen to stupid comments. People just don't have anything better to do or say.
@Maiseefue I hope you make some today! I haven't had eggrolls in a long time either. It was good. My brother makes a really good pepper sauce for the eggrolls. I'll have to ask him to share his recipe with us.
Uhg, now this is making me crave for eggrolls. But I'm broke and I don't have a ride to go to the store. It's like 20 minutes away to just go to a hmong store. Hehehe ^^
I am thai and I think southeast asia countries have similar foods but i like to try and not pass judgment too much food is food as long it is good and done right who care where it come from
I have some threaded coco yam to replace half of the rice threads, and less vegetable than your recipe, adding some Pork and Shrimp, too. I cook the rolls in 6 inches deep of vegetable oil at 350 F degree for 10 to 15 minutes. The rolls you make is very close to mine.
This is Vietnamese traditional egg-rolls, you can make many different flavors of egg-rolls, then you see the spin off versions : Filipinos, Cambodians, Laos, Thais including Hmong's, the same with fish sauce.
Instead of having to shred your cabbage and carrots, you can buy the coleslaw bag mix and use that. Cuts your time in half.
Nice shortcut. Thanks for sharing.
I just saw this after going to the store lol I will be trying your suggestion next time.
u da real mvp
That's what my friend. Does
It doesn't matter if the noodles are too much you want a meat eggrolls then put more meat instead of bring it down. Why can't you people comment constructive comments like nice decent people instead of always trying to bring ppl down -_-
bill xiong I like less meat in mine like this too. But I agree with you.
Because people will always focus on bad not good but you are correct
Amen!

Yes you can. I don't cook mine because I don't add a lot of meat. But if you want, you can cook your meat until its slightly brown but not cooked all the way through.
I added sugar to this recipe and it turned out really good. It had a slight salty and sweet taste
Hey Annie, thank you so much for showing this video to those who never know how to make egg rolls. I learned from your video. And you are absolutely right? There is no right or wrong to make egg rolls. Mahalo sister!
Thank you
Hi, im Hmong too and the egg rolls are really good in taste
Those look awesome!. Thats a great idea making a first batch as a tester. Im gonna try these this week!
These look so delicious! Can they be fried and then frozen? Or should they be frozen and thawed before frying? I'm thinking about the pork in them, also that the recipe makes quite a number of them. Excellent presentation; thank you.
Don't fry and then freeze! Freeze and then fry. :) No need to thaw cause then it'll make the eggroll soggy.
One benefit to frying and then freezing is you only need to fry a batch of eggrolls one time, rather than having to fry eggrolls EVERY time you want them for a meal (gets kind of messy). My family fried them and would freeze them so all we needed to do was heat them up in the oven.
***** Thank you!
Yum! Hmong eggrolls beat all eggrolls! Even Vietnamese eggrolls!
Made this and the family loved it.
It look very good and nice video
I’m making these today! Thanks for the recipe!

Omg! I love egg rolls with the clear noodles! Great job with the video!
I like your recipe look yummy to me thank you to show us how to make better egg rolls.
you should try using beer to seal the rolls. makes it so crunchy and the rolls stay more evenly colored. i love your recipes. keep it up!
@maiphuonglinh Yes Linh! All my videos were recorded on my iPhone 4S. I also edit using iMovie app, super easy and simple. I also love Vietnamese style eggrolls too... so Good!!!!!

I need to know the same thing too....
you can freeze them (but freeze well) before frying them. I've done this to make multiples for fundraising. if you fry it then freeze then fry, it isn't crunchy (from my experience).
I love my eggrolls crunchy even the next day. I don't freeze mine. I reheat by toaster oven or In the toaster. It's crunchy then!

@Maiseefue I hope you make some today! I haven't had eggrolls in a long time either. It was good. My brother makes a really good pepper sauce for the eggrolls. I'll have to ask him to share his recipe with us.

20 minutes away to just go to a hmong
store. Hehehe ^^
carol napolitano, the noodles are mung beans noodles. if you need to use the beans, just use a little.
did you cook the mixture before placing in inside of the egg pastrys and rolling it or did it just cook inside of the grease
trick for frying food if you add some salt to the oil it will help with the splatter
Why are people being so negative? Sheesh! The mature and educated would never do this. Just sayn :D
BTW wonderful wonderful videos!
yummy... just d way I like them. I will try to make them real soon! thank you!
I am thai and I think southeast asia countries have similar foods but i like to try and not pass judgment too much food is food as long it is good and done right who care where it come from
