2023 Mazda MX-5 review: Can the Miata be a daily driver? | Top Gear Philippines
Вставка

- It’s been eight years since the current-generation Mazda MX-5, internally designated as the ND, was revealed. As far as pure driver’s cars go, this is relatively attainable-it’s roughly the same price of a higher-spec midsize SUV, but nowhere near as practical or versatile as a daily driver.
But if you were going to buy an MX-5 as your lone everyday car, how well can it perform this duty? Away from driving roads, is it possible to live with on gridlocked city streets? Check out our review of this special-edition model, the Mazda MX-5 Miata Club of the Philippines 25th Anniversary Edition, to find out.

This is the review (Philippine review) that cemented my decision to get one. Thanks very much Top Gear Philippines for this. Proud owner fo #58.
you really have to love a roadster life to own a miata :)
This car just gives the driving pleasure I haven't experience in any other car I've driven! Proud to own one and can't believe it's been 7 yrs of riding with a roadster already!
We have the same car, no. 13 in manual too. pretty much sums up all the things ive experienced.
Really enjoyed this review! Informative and funny!! Haha
Has currently 2022 Mazda MX5 RF here in Bahrain. Sana maiuwi ko sa Pinas. Really love this car.
Mia's a perfect 100 for me! Saving myself up for that!
2022 Mx5 owner: the answer is yes, you can daily drive a Mx5. Very agile in traffic, easy to park, can do light grocery, easy to maintain. Can't own this car if its your only car due to limited space. You don't buy this car for practicality but for ultimate fun.
hello! what can you say about weather protection? like does it get hot on a sunny day?
@@FGP007 i have a soft top and live in Florida heat. I dont feel any different compared to my other cars. Im comfortable. Also no leaks during severe rain/thunderstorm.
I'll give it a 💯, this car is definitely gorgeous, wish I could avail one while supplies last 🤔
I have a MCP25AE and its a 11k km at 4 months in manual transmission. This is also a semi-daily for both of us.
Definitely a 10! This is a perfect second car and my dream car at that! Been saving up for this one and might be in time for the next generation NE coming up around the corner.
i own the RF version and i drive it whenever i can i love how small and nimble it is and for me it looks absolutely amazing with the rf roof it compliments the curves of this car even more
Lifetime target for an affordable sports car ❤️
Can a medium luggage fit the trunk of mazda mx5?
I definitely give that more than a 100. It could be, provided the roads and its conditions are quite forgiving hehe. For cons something I do not think if that LCD monitor is a real touch screen when driving you can't pinch to zoom or drag the map whenever using a waze or a map. It needs some more infotainment apps and touchscreen capability
For me, it’s either the Miata prioritising flair, or something else prioritising practicality. If you look around, most opt for practically, but it is inspiring to see when someone does not.
100/10!
In general, Mazda is one of the best brands out there especially if you pit it against its fellow Japanese brands. I have been driving a Mazda 3 Gen 1 2010 and it is still a performer and looker even if it's already old at 14 yrs old. It is my project car now, will slowly dress it up and customize it from paint jobs to under chassis issues to address and also if I already have the budget I will trade my original Mazda mags to something new but for now I painted mine to make it more edgy. Miata is one of the nicest cars out now. If you are single and has the money then go for it! But the Mazda 3 Gen 4 Sportsback is my new goal! 1.5M Php for that car is already reasonable! It's like driving a European brand car! Not even a Honda Civic latest generation can come close to what the Mazda 3 can offer! Mazda is Mazda and it's a King in its own right!
Sir Dinzo, it's a 100/10
MIATA IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER!
Wag naman. Baka sabihin bayaran tayo eh.
@Dinzo Tabamo hahahaha! Missed your reviews, sir! Looking forward for more 🙏🏼
My dream car
mazda mx5 cutie
Love the MIATA!!!
Barnone..
this would have been a good review if we could actually hear what the car sounds like, the engine, the tires, etc. instead of that awful elevator music we hear in the background.
MADAMI GUSTO NG MIATA....HINDI QUESTION KUNG PWEDE I DAILY DRIVE....LATELY LANG NAMAN NA USO ANG AUTO SA PINAS....MADAMI PA DING MGA EDAD 50s NA SANAY PA RIN SA MANUAL....ANG PINAKA QUESTION KUNG MAY PANG BILI HEHEHE
I had a 1990 MA for a few years - 12 years old when I bought it and I drove over 200,000 kilometres with it as my daily driver - even with a guitar stowed behind the seats and a dog beside me.
My brother has an MC with a folding hardtop. To me, like the one you have, it’s significantly less room than the first. All the safety stuff occupies too much space.
Let me live dangerously in a mark 1 any day.
I'm looking to get a used 2016-18 Miata. Not gonna be an everyday car. To all the owners of that one, can you give pointers as to what I should look out for? I've already watched many videos of the common issues of that model, but it'll still be good hearing from actual owners here in the Philippines. Thank you!
Does the roof leak during heavy rains?
No leaks even in severe thunderstorm (I live in Florida). This is a well made car.
I would give a perfect 10 for the vlogger
NUNG 90s NAG PROMO ANG MAZDA, PAG BUMILI KA NG MPV MAY FREE NA MIATA
10/10
Miata all day every day, even if I got a million dollar to spend
