Dahican Beach, Mati, Davao Oriental - When the sea beckons

Dahican Beach is probably the most well-known spot in Mati City, Davao Oriental, Mindanao, Philippines. It's a 2-kilometer white/cream sand beach that's home to sea turtles, and other sea creatures, surfers and skimboarders, anglers and fishermen, frisbee and volleyball players, beach lovers and nature lovers.
The colors of Dahican beach run the gamut from slate grey to all the shades of blue, most spectacularly, turquoise blue, truly resembling a jewel.
While Siargao has overtaken it in popularity as a surfing spot, Dahican is not as crowded and it's just a 4-hour drive from our home-base in Davao.
It was unfortunate the Dariel was feeling under the weather during the trip but being near the sea is medicine for him so he did recover.
