    Every guitar sounded good, as one would expect, but the Explorer at the end was exceptional.

    3:51 “Sandy.” That’s a perfect description of how a germanium diode clips.

    Sounding really good. I have to thank you for turning me onto JJ's pickups, They are so good it's got to have certain other big name manufacturers realising they need to lift their game. The Broad Toneys really bring the snarl!

    thank you (again) Mr Kingman. All scenes sound incredible, yet the Brilliant Amp holds its own, with great dynamics, tones, and clarity.
    Just wondering: When you’re performing live, are you using the FM9, or are you running the FX III with seperate Foot Controllers?
    And finally, are you choosing to plug directly into the desk, or are miking everything on stage?
    I’m just curious to know what you thinks works best for your sound?
    cheers
    Ewan

      Hi Ewan. Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you're enjoying this one.
      I use the FM9 exclusively on stage. We play mostly medium-large attendance gigs so I run two monitors, in stereo in front of me, behind my vocal mic. I'm at the mercy of backline hire companies but fortunately they can supply pretty good stuff such as NEXO, dB Audio or something along those lines. I make sure our monitor guy knows to run them totally flat so I can EQ from the FM9 if need be. Lately I've been supplementing these with Fender FR12's when available - one or two - as they have a great 'amp-like' midrange. The FM9 goes to the house directly. Cheers.

    Gday Brett, is that a digital Db meter in the background? Got me thinking. Thx for demo btw...Indisposed bought back cover memory! John

      It is! It does dB reading as well as temperature and humidity in the room. And I think it looks kind of cool too. I found it on Amazon for $100 or thereabouts.

    Nice demo of the patch Brett. I'm thinking of switching from a Boss GT-1000 to a Fractal Audio system. I'm 72, so I don't need to go hog wild all at once. What order would you recommend for slowly building a full system over a 6th month period?

    • @BrettKingman
      @BrettKingman  9 місяців тому +5

      I'm not sure what you mean by 'order' or 'slowly building a system..', Joe. If you just want to upgrade from the GT-1000 and wish to stick to a floor-based system, I'd go for the FM9. If you want more of an installation such as a rack, there is the Axe-FX III and corresponding FC-6 and FC-12 controllers. You'll need some decent monitors for it - Red Sound, Atomic CLR, Fender FR12... any of those will do the trick for live use. Otherwise you can use your desktop monitors if you trust them enough. You'll need a computer of some description if you want to use the free desktop editor (recommended). That's it, really. There are a zillion 'how-to' tutorials here on UA-cam and the Fractal forum is bursting with help from people all over the globe (including me) if you need it.

      @@BrettKingman Thank you Brett. I appreciate your response. I think I'll look into the FM9 and the corresponding controllers. I have a computer I can use for the free desktop editor; and, I have both high end computer monitors and a PA System. Again, thank you!

    • @BrettKingman
      @BrettKingman  8 місяців тому +2

      @@joemccarthy641 No worries, Joe. If you go for an FM9 you won't need any further controllers. It's all self contained. Cheers.
