I am constantly on the look out for an old skool King Kong Ghetto blaster. With auxiliary inputs. Gotta have the aux. I can thus recreate the summer of 1982, wandering the streets of the little beachside town I lived in, with my massive Krysler twin deck, in a t-shirt with the sleeves cut off, blasting Combat Rock to annoy the locals. Oh, sweet juvenile delinquency!
First video that I've watched in 2025! Awesome responses to a cool thread! Tony is one cool dude as are you! Hope you have a great new year too my friend! All the best to you and yours in 2025!
Hey Gary! Only time I bought cassettes was while I was in the Air Force because they travelled and stored easily. I gave away my collection to a younger family member right around when I started buying CD's, so probably 1985. Thanks for the shout out!
Thank you for those kind words. I always appreciate you supporting my channel. You are one if the best. Uriah Heap was one of my first concerts. Nice. Or wouldn’t like White Snake. Thats an awesome box set. And the boom box for the win. Thank you my friend.
I bought that Police box set on CD when it came out in 1994 and it was awesome because it had everything commercially available on four discs. Great response!
Happy New Year Gary! So many vinyl tags. I like those first few Pat Benatar albums. Whitesnake are an incredible band. I used to call him David Coverplant, but David Copperfield works too. 😂 Nice Police box set. The bonus tracks would be new to me. Next time I’m in Kenton on a warm day I’m stopping by to have a few beers and listen to cassettes in your backyard!
There is a whole new audience out there collecting cassettes these days, and new boom boxes are being made as well. What was once old is new again! My cassettes and boom box are long gone, but 'Awesome Mix #12' was the best mixtape I ever made! It's a simple pleasure, as you say Gary. 😎🎶
You showed some interesting cassettes. I could not do this thread as I only have one prerecorded cassette. I am working on my Uriah Heep collection. I guess that I could answer the prompt on mix tapes as I did make a lot. Great response.
Thanks Randy! I was lucky enough that I saved a lot of my cassette collection even after I thought they were dead. I’m always on lookout for Uriah Heep too
This thread is great, but it makes me sad because I gave away most of my cassettes years ago. That is a cool Police box. I had no idea it was released on cassette.

Thanks for watching Brian. I bought that Police set when it was marked way down after cassettes went out of fashion.
Maybe I’ll jump on this thread…. Happy New Year
