Whats funny is the harder you get hit, the more you forget. Ive been KOd in two fights and forgot them both, but only the fights. In the brief period of time between UFC 241 and UFC 243 we had 3 out of 4. Holloway, Whittaker and Stipe were champs (Stipe had just won back the belt from DC, and Whittaker still hadn't lost to Adesanya)
I was super casual before Covid and had no idea who Wonderboy was. I didn't know what the hell was going on, he was being super nice to his opponent. He'd kick him and he'd roll like he's in a cartoon on the ground and Wonderboy would make sure he was OK before kicking him again. Was so fucking weird.
Wonderboy's only mark after all these years was from an accidental clash of heads from his last fight with Geoff Neal that he dominated. Pretty cool scar above his right eye brow.
That one time I had a deep cut in my hand losing a lot a blood, my dad told me to sit down and I stood up a minute later. I fainted from the blood loss and landed straight on my skull. After that I kept asking my brother what happened for 3hrs...
20 years ago i cut just halfway into an index knuckle with a machete. The little bit of blood loss while walking a half mile i would have passed out if it were a mile
It's really odd being really knocked out cold. I caught a tire on a BMX bike and end overed landing square on my head, no helmet like a total dumb fuck, and woke up in the ER 2 hours later with zero memory of about 12 hours of my life. For some reason like 5 years later I woke up one morning and the entire thing was clear as day with the exception of a few minuets after the initial impact. I knew exactly what happened, I remember the ambulance ride, my best friend calling an ambulance (he said he was 100% sure I had broken my neck and shattered my skull and if he hadnt seen me breathing would have assumed I was gone). It was nuts. Obviously I had a pretty good concussion but other than being a bit loopy for a day I had zero injury or lasting issues. Fucking blessed.
I can just imagine stephen jokin around with his dad and his dad replies with "steven if you dont cut it out im gonna go get anthony" like im dead just thinking about it 😂😂

I lived down street from him in summerwalk when his little brother now big brother Tony was just a little 4-5 year old.. I can almost guarantee anytime I see a movie in theaters and only 5 people are there, it’s me and my wife and then Stephen his dad and bro(s) If I had their money I’d have my own huge theater but I do know they have a movie room in their mansion
I was knocked out in a car accident and my family said that I was talking to the paramedics at the scene and I was asking the same question over and over again. Thing is I don't remember any of that. I also felt I was teleported from the moment I left the gym after lifting to the ICU. My sister said she was gonna smack me if I had asked "what happened?" again. I get it Wonderboy, I get it lol
Worst concussion I’ve had was on a dirt bike and yeah that’s exactly what it’s like. It’s like you are teleported around. Fall on a track, wake up 300 feet away in a building, then again wake up in the hospital. I have only minutes of memory of it. Waking up to the now two piece clavicle was the worst pain I’ve experienced, that’s one of the only memories I have of it.

If they all become champions at same time, that era will be called nmf era.
Facts. All great dudes.
In the brief period of time between UFC 241 and UFC 243 we had 3 out of 4. Holloway, Whittaker and Stipe were champs (Stipe had just won back the belt from DC, and Whittaker still hadn't lost to Adesanya)
Man, Wonderboy against luque was something else. He was really wonder to watch.
This guy is what I feel a true martial artist should be like. In style and mindset.
Thank you Joe for having wonderboy
This is everything I want👏
This man is a legend. Been looking forward to WB on JRE for some time.
He's happy for his opponents when they knock him out
Only wonderboy lol
Humble beast, everyone should aspire to be like this in life.
I've been waiting to see Wonderboy on JRE for so long. Gotta watch the whole episode now.
Wonderboy's only mark after all these years was from an accidental clash of heads from his last fight with Geoff Neal that he dominated. Pretty cool scar above his right eye brow.
That fight with him and Pettis was the first UFC fight I've ever been to in person.
I was there, too!
I miss the old new studio
Said no one ever
Powerful video and I loved the Naruto shirt too!
I always forget Wonderboy got knocked out by Pettis. Such a random fight

Literally two of my favorite people!!! THANK YOU JOE!
Fucking blessed.
thank God you are safe!
5:42 That's a good dad looking out for his son. Good on you Mr. Thompson.
Wonderboy is a beautiful human being
I can just imagine stephen jokin around with his dad and his dad replies with "steven if you dont cut it out im gonna go get anthony" like im dead just thinking about it 😂😂
This reminds me of Gaethje loving being choked out by Khabib
Can't have love it too much since he was tapping...
wonderboy is my all time fave, most entertaining fighter.
and when he's away from the ring, he's humble and a gentleman.
the wok he does with the kids in his area is commendable
Bring devon Larrett on your show, armwrestling champion. Great guy, would make a great podcast
As much as I would say love to see John Brzenk because hes the GOAT Devon is just much more witty and talkative. Whereas John is quite and kinda camera shy. They call him the _quiet_ storm for a reason lol.
I'm from right down the street from him (before he moved into a mansion). Its amazing to have such a humble fighter from your town. Wouldn't prefer to have anyone else. Simpsonville represent!
I lived down street from him in summerwalk when his little brother now big brother Tony was just a little 4-5 year old.. I can almost guarantee anytime I see a movie in theaters and only 5 people are there, it’s me and my wife and then Stephen his dad and bro(s)
If I had their money I’d have my own huge theater but I do know they have a movie room in their mansion
I've been waiting for Wonderboy to be on the podcast! Might have to download Spotify for this one.
Who turns down a free nap? Anybody can come knock me out if I'm having trouble sleeping

38 and rocking naruto, forever young 💪🏼
That must be the best and most honest account of getting knocked out I've ever heard! Wonderboy is a class act and just a sweet guy
It's easy to mistake WB's soft and fluffy exterior for weakness. Inside, he is as tough as teak and is an absolute savage - one of the toughest and most skillful to ever step into the cage.
Now THIS is a guy I’d listen to for hours.
