Left my ears to their devices to figure out the lyrics, as they did not come up on Google Search: Well the words hardly spoken All the laws have been broken No easy way to wrap around You need a new direction You seem to make correction You try to make it on your own There's no substitute for the man of truth Who'll lead you into life There's no other way That the only way To find your paradise They say it's a difficult procedure To be prepared when you finally meet your maker, maker, maker Real things are few Can't fit too many The gift is free All the many takers, takers, takers Play church with the best of them Religion with the rest of them There's no substitute for the man of truth Who'll lead you into life There's no other way That the only way To find your paradise There's no substitute for the man of truth Who'll lead you into life There's no other way That the only way To find your paradise
Great job trying to decipher, "techmaester"! I know it's tough... :) Here are the actual lyrics: Well the words have been spoken All the laws have been broken Is there a way to right the wrong You need a new direction Can't seem to make correction You try to make it on your own There's no substitute for the man of truth He'll lead you into life There's no other way Than the only way To find your paradise They say it's a difficult procedure To be prepared when you finally meet your maker, maker, maker Real things are few Counterfeits are many The gift is free Are there any takers, takers, takers Playing church with the best of them Religion with the rest of them There's no substitute for the man of truth He'll lead you into life There's no other way Than the only way To find your paradise There's no substitute for the man of truth He'll lead you into life There's no other way Than the only way To find your paradise
There was a song on this album entitled "Alien". It's a well-written, haunting number... one of the earliest pro-life tunes. Almost always made the phones light up when we played it on the radio. Found it here: SOLID ROCK- "Alien" 1985
I first played "Alien" at WCVC in Tallahassee, then WMIE in Cocoa, FL. Didn't matter where, the feedback was always immediate. Only a handful of tunes I can recall that had that kind of impact.
Just an fyi, the name of this band is Real to Reel. Solid Rock is the name of the album. It has never been released on cd, and the band was from Weatherford, Oklahoma, not Ohio.
Just saw this and had to comment. The band is Solid Rock and the album is entitled Real 2 Reel. Had to clear it up. Thanks for the comment though. Scott Jay - vocals and keys
This sounds a lot like Yes! Especially their song "Open Your Eyes." Perhaps influenced by the band best known for "Owner of a Lonely Heart" is possible, based on the sound and some words used in the song title and lyrics. Even "Open Your Eyes" by Solid Rock reminds me of "Owner of a Lonely Heart." Coincidence? (Sound and vocals surprisingly similar.)
A great christian Rock Band, Love them.

Well the words hardly spoken
All the laws have been broken
No easy way to wrap around
You need a new direction
You seem to make correction
You try to make it on your own
There's no substitute for the man of truth
Who'll lead you into life
There's no other way
That the only way
To find your paradise
They say it's a difficult procedure
To be prepared when you finally meet your maker, maker, maker
Real things are few
Can't fit too many
The gift is free
All the many takers, takers, takers
Play church with the best of them
Religion with the rest of them
There's no substitute for the man of truth
Who'll lead you into life
There's no other way
That the only way
To find your paradise
There's no substitute for the man of truth
Who'll lead you into life
There's no other way
That the only way
To find your paradise

Here are the actual lyrics:
Well the words have been spoken
All the laws have been broken
Is there a way to right the wrong
You need a new direction
Can't seem to make correction
You try to make it on your own
There's no substitute for the man of truth
He'll lead you into life
There's no other way
Than the only way
To find your paradise
They say it's a difficult procedure
To be prepared when you finally meet your maker, maker, maker
Real things are few
Counterfeits are many
The gift is free
Are there any takers, takers, takers
Playing church with the best of them
Religion with the rest of them
There's no substitute for the man of truth
He'll lead you into life
There's no other way
Than the only way
To find your paradise
There's no substitute for the man of truth
He'll lead you into life
There's no other way
Than the only way
To find your paradise

Where did you spin records at? Just curious. We had tons of feedback from Alien. Still brings a tear to my eyes today......
