I never paid attention to how well or not well received angels and airwaves was but I remember being 16 in my bed, getting ready to listen to them for the very first time.
I threw my ipod together, laid in my bed in a pitch black room, pumped the volume up, and listened to the entire album.
I went on a trip, I'll say that much.
That’s the best way to listen to this album. I’ve done it at least 100 times at this point and it never gets old.

Same here! From the first time I heard the album I got addicted to it. Tom's vocals, the melodies and the lyrics - it's just perfect . Even better on vinyl (more clarity of the instruments).

Always going to be a timeless classic to me. the first night I heard it after it leaked, I was instantly sent to another world, with grand landscapes and star-filled skies. I was going through a difficult time back then, and the instant I heard this song,I closed my eyes and sobbed uncontrollably, but I felt something in me starting to heal.
That's when Angels and Airwaves became a band that would change my life.
This is my favourite Angels and Airwaves song to play. I remember playing it in my room, singing into my mic with the backing track and feeling a wave of emotion and shivers around 3:40 and i'll never forget that moment

Happy 10th Anniversary!!! shit I was 14 when I first saw the music video of this in the Philippines. I remember waiting for the video to play so I can watch it over and over to see if its Tom from Blink, because at that time we didn't have the internet to verify whether it's him or not.You can also assume that I didn't know Blink broke up.This was sad news,but at the same time good because out from Blink 182's ashes arose AVA, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I remember falling for this band only from this song, then the rest of the album followed, Heck my cousin played this song as the intro to her wedding reception and even though im a guy I was giggling like a school girl just because I knew this song and it was being played for something so important. I havent listened to anything from AVA after Love part 1 since its pretty blah but this was what made this band great.

AVA is so underrated, this song alone has made me who I am, the first time I heard this I was 5, and it has changed the way I look at music, listening to all the new popular songs are all so dumb and not real music, while this is. AVA is an extremely unique band that deserves more attention for how different it is.

Annoying that after the middle 8 it just turns into that as an outro and you never get to hear the intro / more specifically the intros lead guitar parts again which are the best bit of the song. Song should end with the intro but dragged out 4 or more x longer. Wish it did!

Although I'm a old blink fan (1992 - 1999 skater punk days with all original members), and I didn't like the pop punk/new wave direction that the went in; I still love this song. Sure it's something different but it's so damn beautiful that I don't care. Original I was upset that Tom left but I now realized it's for the better. I really don't like any of blinks new stuff, and it's certainly much different from when NOFX and The Descendents were their main influence. You can't have blink with out Tom, sorry Skiba it's not that you aren't good (love old alkaline trio) but you aren't a fitting Tom replacement. Well in the age where I don't listen to much besides 70's-90's punk rock, this has opened my mind a little bit. Thanks Tom, I guess this is growing up huh.
Also I'm aware that in 99 Travis joined an EotS came out alongside him, I don't hate that album. It definitely had some good songs, but it just didn't have that spark that they use to have.
