So glad that you are reviewing the Rutherford Marple films. For a long time, they were seemingly lost to the sands of time and then started to be rediscovered. I love how Rutherford makes her Marple both a mental and physical investigator. She never lets age stand in her way of doing what a younger person may do and is willing to dive in. Even as a younger person, I found her agility and enthusiasm inspiring.
Exactly, she constantly surprises me with her verve and obvious love of getting involved in any way she can. Her whole performance brings such a dynamism to the films that elevates them so much. Thanks for your comment!
The odd thing about movies: Marilyn Monroe had “screen presence “ -but so did Margaret Rutherford!
I thoroughly enjoyed hearing your insights and opinions of this fun movie. Margaret Rutherford was a gem of an actress.
She certainly was. I'm glad you enjoyed the review!
Flawless review of a great movie. Ms Rutherford just kills me. The look/design/music are a time machine to the 1960s! And Mr Davis is so good. Thank you for this review, it is appreciated.
Thank you so much for your comment! The atmosphere of this series represents a world that it's a joy to relax in for an all too brief 80-90 minutes.
@@HildebrandProductions I agree.
Thanks for your excellent review. I have seen this movie a time or two in years past and enjoyed it a lot.
Thank you, I can definitely foresee myself re-watching this (and the others) in years to come.
Murder Ahoy is the only Rutherford Miss Marple I have seen(use to rent it from the library and my mum has the dvd) and based on what you've said in this video, formular is fairly similar.
That's good to know, I'm looking forward to finishing off this series! (Although I do wish there were more than 4)
I'm so glad i found your channel. I've always had a hard time getting into Miss Marple. but it took me a while to get into Poirot too. Your reviews of this version have convinced me to start here. I'd love for you to review the original Father Brown episodes. It's a very different take on the character from the current one but very well done (I enjoy both). It seems almost forgotten. Whatever you do review I will enjoy it.
Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying the reviews! I've never watched either version of Father Brown, but I'll have to seek it out. Thanks for mentioning it!
Another great review
Thank you!
