Weird how this game is still the best looking “mainline” game of all the games. It keeps the top down look, it all looks crisp, cinematic camera angles during battles, actual cutscenes. I remember this game got so much hate upon reveal because it was “yet another remake”, people didn’t like that the catching mecanic was copied straight out of pokemon Go. As someone who has never played pokemon Go in their life : it’s the most immersive way to actually catch a pokemon, and I can imagine it is why pokemon Go is so popular. I also think people had seen what the switch can do with a game like breath of the wild. They were expecting something like that for the mainline pokemon games. (And rightfully so) But now, years later and what we got never came close to botw. I liked Arceus like many others, but honestly I prefer this style for pokemon. I wish they would build on this foundation. Every pokemon can follow you, you can ride a lot of them, even fly, they find stuff for you in the overworld, you could bond with your companion, even personalise it’s appearance, This to me is still the most complete and finished pokemon game ever created. Let’s hope for a let’s go Marill/Togepi.

I played this very game on my gameboy as a 90s kid. Everything about this game footage is mind blowing to me. I never imagined the games could look like this. I need a switch now so I can play these new games. What i love is they kept the cries, the iconic music and it’s pretty much just the OG games with better graphics. I must play this.

Mewtwo yes, the legendary birds were on per save file and depended on your starter and they roamed for a bit. Mew is a mythical so you could only get it in an event, meanwhile meltan and melmetal didn't exist yet
So to catch mew I have to pay? Wow, so now Pokemon will have physical DLC Not to mention that the game is to easy, Pikachu and Eevee are not like others, they have more base stats, to catch a Legendary I have to kill it, something that is very easy, and to get a Meltan or Melmetal I need Pokemon Go, secret spam, and Melmetal is not a so awesome Pokemon talking about stats

Mewtwo yes, the legendary birds were on per save file and depended on your starter and they roamed for a bit.
Mew is a mythical so you could only get it in an event, meanwhile meltan and melmetal didn't exist yet
So to catch mew I have to pay? Wow, so now Pokemon will have physical DLC
Not to mention that the game is to easy, Pikachu and Eevee are not like others, they have more base stats, to catch a Legendary I have to kill it, something that is very easy, and to get a Meltan or Melmetal I need Pokemon Go, secret spam, and Melmetal is not a so awesome Pokemon talking about stats

But u have to complete story

You can get mewtwo with a ultra ball and razz berries, just save the game before the encounter and it takes a few tries but it’s possible
I caught Zapdos with a normal Pokeball after using up my ultra balls! 😆
I did the same to moltress
I used the 2 player catch to increase the chance of my ultra ball to catch zapdos and articuno

I was new pokemon and I lost to Zappdos and mewtwo and I new so I didn’t save and had to wait a week or 2 to get them back
