Damn thats incredible what this show can do. He knew the answer but just couldn't go with it since he doubted himself. As he said sat and home he'd answer that straight away. I knew it aswell but in the situation would I have picked that hard to say!
Very sad, if he had been just a bit more brave and confident, who knows, he could have known the answer to the million pound question and been one of just a few on the UK version to win the grand prize...
how is it easy ? you need to know two bits of knowledge, the dates of the PM in office and the year when women won the right to vote, if you don't know one of them then you can't answer it
That was a really wholesome moment when he called his mum, and still loves a stiff drink at 80! God bless that old bird!
My all time favourite contestant. To go for that Henry Ford question took some serious bollocks to gamble
But he didnt go for Lloyd George
80 years old and she knows her Brandy. Love it!
'I love you mum'
He did absolutely the right thing and should be proud he didn't risk it all by being greedy. I hope he thoroughly enjoyed his winnings. Smart man.
01:14 when I was a kid I thought the hot seat and Chris Tarrant's chair just magically appeared lol
I love how Chris always,kind of,slurps between question's
"And my father knew him". Well that was a sign then!
- "You need a real hard drinking mate here"
- "I'm gonna ring me mum"
Now that one I couldn't stop laughing about, that was brilliant 🤣🤣🤣
"I love you Mum !!" for 10 million people to hear 😀😀😀
Nice to see someone from Beverley win big I’m from Hull not too far away

One of the most likeable contestants I've seen on this show.
"I'm going to ring my mum": priceless!

Easiest question ever for £500000?
what? I didn't even know the answer
No. It's only easy to someone who studies history and/or British politics. The fact that the question doesn't give a date makes it even tougher.
how is it easy ? you need to know two bits of knowledge, the dates of the PM in office and the year when women won the right to vote, if you don't know one of them then you can't answer it
It's only easy if you know the answer!
