YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED UPRISING YET?!?!?! If you're gonna be at Dice Tower West, we should seriously play a game of it. I'm more than willing to quickly teach you the new stuff!!
I'm going to Level Up and would happily bring my painted Dune Imperium Uprising if you want to get in a game. It's even better than the original with both expansions.
I've backed Quodd Heroes based on a video of it you did more than a year ago. Just want to warn people, since they still accept late pledges, that the kickstarter is missing deadlines, communication and promises for many months now. I worry it might never be delivered.
Generally I would agree as well but the two published books of the king killer chronicles are sooo good. It's worth reading them even if he never finishes the series
Ive wanted to get istanbul for a long time now but found a deal on yokohama and got it since alot of people have said they share some simularities. Looking forward to trying it out soon but ive gotten a lot of new games recently so im not sure how soon i will get to it haha.
I got Kingdom Builder 10 years ago at least, played it once, liked it, but somehow sadly it's never been played since. I think i still have it somewhere.
His timestamps are competitive of for this video... Agemonia, along with many of the others listed on the stamps (line Brass: Birmingham) were already lower on his list.
Whoo hoo! Alex’s top 100 “of all time” but not really since there are some games that he loves but doesn’t include on the list for reasons. So, the title isn’t accurate, but at least he leans into it year over year.😅
Forget about Lavon Rising, people are STILL waiting on the Wild Assent "reprint" and based on the Gamefound updates LSG have literally done NOTHING except wait to receive miniatures for well over a year at this point. Yet Gamefound declares that because LSG are doing monthly "updates" (again, updates that literally provide NO indication of ANY progress or work being done to deliver the game), so there's no problem. To be blunt, even suggesting that Lavon Rising might deliver feels a bit dishonest at this point in time. The Quodd Heroes 2nd edition is also woefully delayed and lacking in meaningful update information. While the creator has indicated he's gone through some family issues this year, the continual delays and profound lack of communication are very concerning.
@@a.c.s.6204 You're right--it was 77 two years ago! Somehow I missed a year. Last year it topped out at 32. Had to go back through the videos to find it! Thanks for fact-checking the fact check!
If you got $1 to your Ko-Fi for everyone who had a reaction to Dune being that high, you would be funded for 2025. What breaks my brain is trying to asses the value of gameplay experiences between Dune: Imperium and Things in Rings can provide - how can they even compare. Having never played Tak, and being a fan of Santorini and a lot of the GIPF series, I look at Tak like someone wen to a drawer, found odd shapes and said I'll make a game out of this. Unfair, I know. Queen Games, giving you a game, then expansions, then a second printing of the game with the expansions, and then a big box version of the game and the expansions, and then another big box with the expansions and more expansions, and then the anniversay edition with only some of the expansions...
The trend of 1 crossover game per video continues... I own 5) Dune: Imperium. And it's a much better game than #68! Also, it's too early to count it but I think Things in Rings may be under the Christmas tree. So, currently on pace for only a 12% crossover. Probably will pick up as we get into the top of the list but may be a struggle to even hit the 20% level.
1 per video, @JohnClem56! Definitely a slower start compared to last year. Crossover count continues: 11) Trailblazers, 12) Dune Imperium, 13) Kingdom Builder (in the sell pile), 14) Things in Rings, 15) Root There’s the 50% match that I’ve been wanting. Hopefully the compatibility increases once we are through the trash games.
You seem to have faith that Levon Rising or any other game, Stormsunder (I think it's called) will ever come out from Lazy Squire. They are as obtuse and unyielding as CMON these days, utterly refusing to address the ridiculous lateness of their games... Oh but they still update each month!
I think the fact you haven't played Uprising explains why it is this low on the list. The game in general doesn't seem to be that high a priority for you. (No criticism here, btw)
I mean everything is relative :) Dune Imperium hasn't and has never been "my favorite. It's always been a game that I enjoyed a lot, as it's been in my top 100 since I played it...but yes, the lower half of my top 100 are games I love....the top half of my top 100 are games I'm obsessed with. Dune Imperium has usually been in the former category. Although I do disagree with the idea that because I haven't played Uprising, that means anything. Vindication was my number one game last year and I haven't played some of those expansions. Often if I like a game, I'm content with what's there until I'm ready to try more stuff.
Based on what I read when deciding whether to buy Uprising (I eventually did), Imperium with Ix is generally regarded as better than Uprising. That ended up aligning with my opinion after playing Uprising. So Alex has played what is generally seen as the best version of the system. I don't think him playing Uprising would change anything.
Alex, the chapter markers are for the wrong video.
I was so confused when I tried to scan the chapters for games!
Yup - victim of the copy and paste a template (but forget to update it) disease, methinks.

Are you talking about DI:Uprising or the very impressive Uprising?
I haven't played Uprising yet, either (but, I have played regular Dune: Imperium).

GRIN

If I recieved a copy of Things in Rings everytime you've mentioned it within the past few weeks, they'd be out of stock globally
I mean that's on them for only having 5 copies in stock.
As far as what you are doing in Kingdom Builder??
Wait for it!!!
You are building kingdoms! Made me chuckle.
I've backed Quodd Heroes based on a video of it you did more than a year ago. Just want to warn people, since they still accept late pledges, that the kickstarter is missing deadlines, communication and promises for many months now. I worry it might never be delivered.
Only own 1 in this video, and have only played 2 of them. Now after 4 videos I am at 10 owned.
"A book series that hasn't finished yet, and thus I haven't started". I don't think I've ever agreed with you so much on something, Alex 😅
Generally I would agree as well but the two published books of the king killer chronicles are sooo good. It's worth reading them even if he never finishes the series

Haven't had a chance to play any of these games yet. Don't know if any of them are drawing me in over games I already have.

Chapters says number 64 is Agemonia. Did the list change?

Trailblazers looks interesting. I hope I get a chance to check it out.
Love the Thinker Themer hoodie!
They're excellent :)

Root... I own it... one day I'll play it! Thanks for the list Alex!
My top three: Nemesis, Nemesis Lockdown, Nemesis Retaliation
A man of culture, I see.
I’ve only played Nemesis once, but it was the most memorable gaming experience I think I’ve ever had.
@ I am in good company I see.
@ I hope you can play more! There’s nemesis on tabletop simulator and there is even a digital version of nemesis lockdown on steam.
Root That low?!? Blasphemy!!!

I've been playing rise of Ix on steam, and it's crazy how much better Uprising is.
I guess I really need to play Wonderous Creatures
