Loved this breakdown. I am an auburn fan so I frequently watch SEC and it was nice hearing you talk about his struggles as an in-line blocker. Announcers always talk about how you can do everything with Browers and how he’s this great blocker which is only somewhat true from what I’ve seen. He can be great blocker on the outside when throwing WR screens and could probably get by as an in line TE in a zone blocking scheme(like Kittle with 49ers), but he is just way to small to be an in line TE consistently. Also, he’s just such an S tier athlete with his speed, burst, balance, and coordination that it would be a disservice to a player of his caliber to leave him on the line every player. I’m really hoping my chargers take him with the 5th pick
I think you’re selling Bowers short with blocking. He plays to the whistle and can take on DEs at times. He also seems to have really long arms, take a look at the pic with him and Gronk, Bowers’ arms look longer.
I SERIOUSLY doubt he will break the tight end record in the 40. That would be sub 4.38. If he did he would end up probably top 5 in the draft. Excellent prospect, but I don't see quite that elite of physical characteristics.
@@rodneyhewitt2772 Vernon Davis had a 42 inch vertical @ 254lbs. 4.38 40, 128 inch broad jump those were 99.9th percentile for his size and on top of that he benched 225lbs 33 times. Probably the best combine performance ever. It would be crazy if Bowers beat that.
I like Bowers... But the TE must block as well... As a receiver I think he could be like a Dallas Clark... But not a Kelce, gronk, and/or Kittles... Those three are excellent blockers... He would be a liability in the run game.

I doubt he does, most likely mid 4.4s but he is an insane athlete for his size
