  • In this video I found a 4x4 ambulance for sale on Facebook Marketplace. It was insanely cheap. I was going to buy it, but I decided to contact my friend who has also been looking for an off-road adventure vehicle for full time living. He was going to go with a van or bus build but when we saw the ambo he fell in love (so did I). This is going to be a little different then my normal videos but I really enjoyed putting it together. Don't worry about my content. I'm a truck camper for life and will always be out in the Arctic Fox. Next week I have a camping video back on deck.

That van is so cool. Definitely rare to see a 4x4. It looks like a Dana 60 front axle. This thing has some serious potential. Can’t wait to see this build unfold!

Shortly after making the videos, Trace found himself a wonderful woman. They moved to Montana to be close to her parents. The van now sits behind a shed in Minnesota. I hope to one day have it sitting in my garage. I'd love to build it out!

It was 3500 dollars. He ended up finding a lady friend and they bought a house together. The dreams of batchler life on the open road is over. The Ambo now sits behind the garage. I'm hoping to take it off his hands one day. It would make an awesome camper to beat down the forest roads.

Well, today you get Kind OR Honest- which is it to be, Trace? Jes kiddin'! Good on Ya for grabbing life by the horns and buying a 4 by 4 Bambulance! Check out David over at The Campulance Man- he's a jerk, but his dog Leftie is AWESOME! He's 'doing the do' in an ambulance, currently in CO or UT, but- moving south for less snow & higher temps too. There's some great space in there- so hard to choose which way to modify it to best address what YOU want in your ride. I hope than you can convert some of the outside access into inside space without hurting the structural rigidity of box- but, Kenny, a Sawzall & a coupla ice cold brews should take car of it, right?
I watched a ton of videos about those diesel heaters- they seem like an excellent value, real 'sippers' of fuel, and put out a ton heat- consistently! I think they can be acquired (right kit is a MUST!) for under $200.00 and it makes Winter Camping seem much more possible.
Excellent adventure & 12 Nomads seems to be a great start- can't wait for the build out & travel. Get started, you've got a subscriber!
Good luck & congrats- tough to pull the trigger, but- you HAVE! Let the games begin!

David thank you for all the tips in this message. I am excited to hear I'll have another subscriber besides forcing Kenny into subscribing as well. I'll will definitely check out. I'm currently busy and have to pass an exam come the 30th for my remote job. Then once that is done I'll have free time to do some things to the Manbulance and camping. Like Kenny said, you'll be notified on his channel when it is up and running.

Trace and I worked together for years. We used to sit in my office and talk about how cool it would be to explore everything this country has to offer. That is when I started talking to him about living full-time out of my truck camper.
He has a pretty cool story of traveling abroad the last year or so. I'll let him get into it on his channel.
      See you again next week!

Yes. It's inevitable here. Even the new trucks on the dealer lot have rusty frames. The chemicals they put on the roads destroy our vehicles in a matter of years. This was a vehicle used I Montana most of its life. It had decals that said Jaws of life rescue vehicle.

But........he found a girl and moved out to Montana so she could be close to her family. Now, the ambo sits here in Minnesota. I'm hoping one day Trace will sell it to me, and I can make a weekend adventure rig out of it.

How cheap is cheap? Do you have anymore videos on this?

    • @KennyOfAllTrades
      @KennyOfAllTrades  7 місяців тому +1

I believe it was 3500 bucks. That was when prices were completely insane. People were paying more than 10 grand for old 4x4 ambulances. He's moved out of state now. It sits out behind the garage of a family member house. He never got around to doing much with it. Trace, like a lot of people, wanted a taste of the vanlife movement. But it never worked out. He realized it's not as easy as it looks on UA-cam and Instagram. I would love to take it off his hands one day. I wouldn't have a lot of time to work on it. Maybe one night a week after work. But I could do something with it.

    • @luigiprovencher8888

@@KennyOfAllTrades Yeah because he tried to do too much at once I think. He should've just did what he had to do to get it on the road and to pass inspection and then started living in it and working on it as he went a long and figured out what was wrong with it or what it needed to be improved on. I think he was overwhelmed and didn't have enough help from people that knew what they were doing.

    • @KennyOfAllTrades

@luigiprovencher8888 I agree 100% I told him the same thing. All he needed was an air mattress and a camping spot! He could have lived out of it and finished it along the way. In the meantime, he found himself a lady friend, and they moved to Montana....so now the van sits.
