And Walton Goggins, The Ghoul, refused to play the game so that his input into the show would be about the show standing on its own merits without being biased by him playing the games.
How unbelievably based. The best media ever, hands down, comes when there are two opposing viewpoints which must make concessions to each other to create a final product that has the best aspects of both viewpoints.
To be fair playing the games wont make ANY difference at all for the actors. The writers are the ones supposed to do that
It was a good call too because he didn't need to play a Fallout character. He just needed to be a cowboy that happened to be in the Fallout world.

@@joaovictor3312idk I think it could make a difference in some of the quirks they give to their acting, and suggestions they can make to scenes, but the more important part is the writers/showrunners for sure

Playing the games and watching letsplays to research for your role are both valid choices
By the end of the show, I legit felt like I just watch the game. The emerging to the world, the factions, the super mart, the so and so. They nailed making it feel like I was watching a Fallout game unfold infront of me. Maybe the first time ever I thought well shit TV shows can give me another experience to playing in the game worlds I love. And not just destroying them….
And their decisions to stick to the source material while throwing their own ideas in was perfect. The setting is perfect for people to be their own character especially here when its an entirely new story that has the games lore sprinkled around. It’s good that some did take the time to learn the established story so that they could expand upon it with their own characters and creativity.
I just wanna see this show thrive and execute so fuckin good

This show is so amazing. I love that they made original characters instead of copying a fallout storyline. The setting is perfect for this too. I love all the little details and easter eggs and how they showcase the karma system in characters. My wife knows nothing about fallout and loves the show too.
I second that, about them making original characters. They could've just copy pasted one of the games, and just mess everything up with their "agenda.." 😒 Thank God they made their own story. I really enjoyed watching it, and geeking out in front of my wife, who knows nothing about it 😂 So far I can recommend the show to anyone. The lead role is awesome, she doesn't try to make the men look bad with awful woke "writing." She just has fun playing her roll so well. She's funny, has a lot of expressions, her acting flows so naturally. The series really make me wanna play the game again. 😅 No wonder I see videos of people reporting players are playing the games again 😊

I legitimately don't remember how long it's been since I've seen a female actress that looks and talks like a normal human being, and not just a PR machine. I really love Lucy in the show! Her naivete and complete shock of everything... Even just a simple foliage..... And that's not even talking about Walton Goggins. Bro... The Ghoul is one of the coolest characters I've seen in a LONG time. He just has that Clint Eastwood, spaghetti Western vibe perfectly. And the action scenes and all the gore... Oh man... This show is God tier.

They kind of ugly him up in the show a bit. Bad haircut, he’s bruised and bloody often, and he had a serious face all the time. I love him in the show regardless.
The games are not for everybody that for sure I love the fallout world but playing is a no for me but even if she didn’t play the games I think they would’ve done the show justice

If you cant find the time to play the games at least learn the stories within the games(although im contradicting myself because sometimes the best way to learn the stories is to experience them through the games themselves)
The actors did a good job, but the writers wrote the Fallout show to be dumb as nails. Insulting to anyone’s intelligence. All the main characters have max luck it’s ridiculous.
If I am making a show based on a game I am forcing the whole cast and crew to read/watch/play the source material because if we’re gonna make a show we’re doing it the f***ing right way.

The whole show was cast perfectly except for Maximus, I just can't stand that guy. The character makes no sense, he's all over the place and this guy makes it even worse in my opinion.

I have nothing but disdain for people working on a project but won’t fully immerse themselves in it. If you’re part of the cast you need to understand that universe, play at least ONE Fallout game. Meanwhile a lot of people watching the show have at least played 3, 4, and New Vegas. I bet she played for an afternoon or two MAX, and the rest of the main cast didn’t even bother except to maybe watch a video of someone else playing.
Of course, why should I expect further dedication to understanding what universe you’re portraying when it’s 2024 and this is just par for the course.
From recent releases from beloved IP’s like Star Wars, Halo, to LotR, nobody cares to fully understand and respect the source material properly. It’s just sad, and they’ve all been nothing but a shallow pathetic cash grab.
For once I just want the cast to be forced to understand what they represent in a show/movie to the fullest so they can make sure to understand it. They don’t care to and it’s obvious.

This is a great game adaptation coming from a massive fallout 3 fan.
Coming from a huge fan of the Fallout series (I’ve played FO3, FNV, FO4 and even 76 for what it’s worth lol) this show is absolutely AMAZING. I was cautiously optimistic at first but they did an excellent job with the adaptation. It’s the best storytelling I’ve experienced in the Fallout universe since Fallout New Vegas.
The series is great, and if your worried about Ella's voice, she isn't the only main character. The show is 3 separate stories that converge.
Im a massive New Vegas fan and so far the choice with the NCR makes me happy, all those Redditors supporting them take the L . @d24isDURIAN
