It was Chappers! Chappers was the one who pointed out to me that the Reaper has a drone bay now. Sorry Chappers, I meant to shout you out with a pop-up caption in the video.
This is like starting back when the game first launched. Nobody had bought any blueprints yet, nobody was making anything yet, there was nothing to buy on the market, you had to earn money and make stuff yourself. Belt rats paid very little bounty, getting to 1m isk or so for a probe blueprint to upgrade your starter ship was a real grind. Killing an npc that dropped a better mining laser like a Cu Vapor bore was huge.
It's amusing that I find someone that's doing nearly the same challenge as I did one month ago, except my end goal was making a Stabber. Minmatar char, no trading, no daily login rewards, AIR, missions agents, and only use modules I manufactured (can't equip modules I drop from rats, too) After a week I had made myself a Rifter, a Venture, and was nearly done with the ISK grind for a Thrasher BPO I dropped multiple of those Warp Disruption Field Generators but decided against reprocessing them as it would make mining useless It was really fun making everything myself, including rigs, but in the end I chose to stop since it was getting a bit repetitive Good luck on your journey, I'll be watching new episodes :)
great series! Loved the first pvp engagement, that was hillarious :) Your series is highly motivating, sometimes less is really more! Played with breaks (like most of us) since 2007, that makes me consider to start something alike too...
Really good content. Seems u have a lot of knowledge to share, which is perfect for me as a newbie. I also like your style of tellingthe story (gogo Horatio). Can t wait for the next episodes.
I'm also getting super twitchy at the hangar full of stuff not sorted by type :( Fitting out the slasher and looking at the 10mn meta AB, saying oh well this is cruiser size so no good anyway. Completely missing the 1mn meta AB sat in the same hangar. Grrrr
Well I've made sugnifigant progress, shortly after your last video I obtained an Incursus BPO and got my frigate. I've been farming rats to get salvage for rigs and Fried Interface Circuits have become the bane of my existence. Though I also need armor plates for an Auxillary Nano Pump rig. I'm also saving ISK for a Catalyst BPO, once I get a Catalyst I'm going to do FW and convert it into a Catalyst Navy, I've already obtained the required Nexus Chip. I also almost died to a Loki, landed on grid and target locked me as I aligned out, thankfully he landed outside scram range and I got out. I think you should have gone for a shield booster and a prop mod instead of two shield extenders. The prop mod enables you to speed tank and control range and while you wouldn't be cap stable with a shield booster you can pulse it as you need it. Be aware of how much you rep so you can avoid over repping and wasting cap.
I'm so glad that you're still at it and posting updates. It make me feel like I'm not in this alone. I've actually been thinking about going for a Catalyst for my next ship as well. I need to train Gallente ship skills anyway for the Cynabal, and I need to stop shooting Angels before I tank my standing too far, which means it's going to be hard for me to get good drops for projectile ships much longer... The shield extenders have actually been working pretty well. I don't need an AB to stay under the guns of the larger ships once I get close. The approach can be hairy, but the buffer gives me time to get there. I do intend to go AB and MSE once I can afford the MSE blueprint (and can get my hands on either a Micro Auxiliary Power Core or some Ancillary Current Router rigs...).
Love this series. Makes me want to do the same. Question, once you get your frigate BPO and move out to low/null to do angels missions and such, do you plan on improving your standings that way or running the epic arc?
I definitely inted to do the Angel epic arc, though I'm not sure a T1-fit Slasher will be able to handle it. I may have to wait until I can build a Thrasher to do the later mission. We will see! I'm sure I'll also do some low level Angel missions along the way.
Was there a good reason Horatio was sat in the drone bay the entire fight? I couldn't stop looking at it, just sat there like the kid picked last in the playground.

I'm committed now, Corvette to Vargur let's go!
And Horatio has to come along!

I love this so much. I started playing in 2008 and this reminds me so much of the grind and rewards back then. Such a good feeling
When you said the Rifter wasn't the best anymore I hurt.
Horatio is OP…hehehe. Been enjoying the series. Looking forward to to watch it all. I do enjoy the aspect of this particular game-play.
omg when you fit the slasher i couldnt stop staring at the 1mn meta afterburner you had looted from the belt rats
This is what one gets for not using sorting options or search.

I’m surprised they haven’t given angel cartel destroyer and battlecruiser rats the new mekubal and khizriel models made for that faction
Is there an in game channel for people who are following along?

I see I have spawned Horatio the Hornet.
You should limt yourself also to only use WASD in on grid navigation and combat
Also go full republic fleet Reaper
Technically you didnt speed up a frigate 1v1….
