Mountain Gorilla Conservation | World Gorilla Day

On the jagged slopes of Mt Mikeno in Virunga National Park reside one-third of the world's entire population of mountain gorillas.
The protection of mountain gorillas in the Park is a rare but impressive achievement, despite widespread global biodiversity loss and ongoing security issues in the region.
In recent years, these efforts and the unwavering dedication of Virunga's Rangers have helped the species recover from the brink of extinction.
