  • I decided to try making my own soft plastic Senko style worms! It's pretty cheap if you just want to try it. I show you what I used and how I did it every step of the way, and I will test them at a local lake too (if they come out okay)!
I used a rock/Corian mold from a seller on Amazon for $20. I made some mistakes so if you want to try this you should watch more videos about DIY senkos.

Now you'll buy mold after mold and make more than you'll ever use. Grab you a 2 oz and a dowl.

Not crazy about the injector I put together. Would be easier if the cap came off, but with a screw to lock it down. I am having better luck today though with it. I would like a craw and a swimbait of some kind. But if I do more I will get multi-cavity molds. This isn't very efficient. I don't know that I really need to make worms. Just goofin around for now.

@@outsidewithmike you should check out Fusion X. They have a 3 mold worm kit with plastic for 25 bucks.

What's up dude! You got to be retired and just bored out of your mind!!!
    Lol
So all jokes aside what is the purpose of glitter I noticed a lot of plastics do that and I'm curious if you or any other fishermen have a comment on that
I ask because it always seemed a little goofy to me cuz there's no real earthworm that gives off that glittery look unless you're just trying to attract fish from far away but at what point do the fish look at it and go that's not a real worm
Ps still catching fish in coyote rivers more inaccessable spots

The glitter, to me, just helps to reflect sunlight. Maybe it attracts the fish, maybe not. To me presentation is more important than lure style or color. I've caught 3 fish with 3 different colored crank baits from the same spot on shore on the same day before (ponds) so who knows.
Ones I made today are a bit transparent so the glitter looks cool. I just used gold today. A lot of baits are designed to attract fishermen not fish!

I need help! Doing it again today. So do you have to clear out the injector every time? Also, I keep getting air bubbles/dents today near the head of the worm. I tried a different method of shooting so see if that helps - it's curing now.
It seems like if I had 3 molds for example that the stuff inside the injector would be too cool to shoot by the time I got to the third.
I guess what I'm wondering is what people's work pipeline is like. How you inject, how many at a time, and do you keep the plastisol on a hot plate?

Okay my "new method" worked well! I let some platisil pour into the mold just a little, THEN I stuck the injector on top and used pressure to fill it the rest of the way.
Seems like wehn I use the injector the pressure gets too strong before the mold is full, so I let a little pour in freely first. Hmm well it worked but I think I'm doing it wrong.

You Have to clear the injector each time

@@steved5641 It's getting easier now, I think I have a better workflow. The plug is easy to take out, I just have to unscrew the back end of the injector. It would be more worth the time if I were shooting several molds at a time, or multi cavity ones.
I had a lot less bubbles and dents today. I'd push some plastic in, lift the injector, then push in more. Also, I'm cooling the mold in between pours, and pooring the plastic a little cooloer, closer to 320.

Hey man sorry I never called I had a family emergency. Everything turned out okay thankfully. Kinda still ongoing.
Also I bought a new 4 chamber aluminum mold and a Do-it injector, both of which should help. I think my DIY injector goes too far into the mold and creates air pockets near the top.
