- This is a video to see very quickly how to modify the dashboard in Mitsubishi Colt 2009 in order to fit a double din head unit. I also show how to not loose the features such as the steering wheel controls and the trip computer when installing an Eonon Ga2162 head unit or an aftermarket head unit.

Still relevant and helpful video, thx! Used your instructions to wire the new GA2180A (7" Andriod 10) headunit with a backcam and active sub on a 2009 Colt Ralliart. Only setback was the alternative cover is to small (173mm wide and headunit needs 178mm), so have ordered the one with the bigger opening from Ali Express.

I need to ask you something guessing that we might have the same space, size, cables and connections.
I have an Outlander 2009 and the last few months i am trying to find an Eonon head unit (GA2154, GA2162, GA2164) to replace the original MMCS that the car already has on it, but no one can tell me for sure what extra parts i will need to buy and if the unit will fit and work for sure.
So i would like to ask you if you already had a camera on the back and if you bought en extra adaptor for it or is working as it is? My car has already a camera and i dont know if it will work or i need to buy something extra.
Do i need some extra mounts so that the Eonon head unit will be stable?
There is no other way for the wheel buttons to work? I need to buy the adaptor on the video? (can you please send me the website because the link doesnt working).
Any other issues i need to know or problems untill now?

Hi there! Great video! I'm looking forward to upgrade the stereo on my colt 2006. I'm trying to check how to deal with the differences in the steering wheel control and the trip/dsp button.
Just by your description I got some clues on to what I should look for! Once again thank you for taking your time to explain your work for us.
I have just one question: how did you manage to map the trip/dsp button?
Oh..nevermind. I just noticed that it the default behaviour under that interface. It mappes the display mode/set button directly to the "mode" button on the steering wheel. I wounder how different would it be on 2004/2008 model. Or even if it is, how hard would be for them to create a specific one :(
So, when one connects the "CTSMT004.2 Steering Wheel Stalk Control Adaptor" then the set/trip button is remapped to the mode button?
Nice video! The GA212 is out of stock however there is a newer version GA2178. Does the same hardware still works on that (especially the steering wheel control interface)? Do you also have some kind of wiring schema?

I have a question: What input cable(s) were used in the G2162 unit to connect the Steering Wheel Control Interface?
To what head unit cables were is connected the KEY1 and KEY2 cables from the Control Interface?
Miguel Angel you need to connect the key 1 and key 2 to the lead cabels in the interface adapter, and ofcourse the ground to
i ahve the same stereo installed on my 2007 civic fn and its a great model. Had the previous model the GA2162 and still have an old model 10years old that works on my wifes car. The only thing I cannot set is the boot logo, on the previous model you can go on settings/car settings enter password and choose a boot logo but this one does not have that setting. Apart from that its a great stereo and I have the dvr camera thats is perfect better then a stand alone dvr.
I am consindering buying this. How does the DVR camera work, is it flawless? Does it work while u listen to bluetooth audio? Some models don't allow that. Do you use an extra memory card to save the stuf on? Do you have the reverse camera aswell? The Eonon site offers me either a free reverse camera or DVR. Otherwise I would have to pay ~50 EUR extra if i want both, is it worth it?
James Buhagiar hi, you can set the boot logo i have done it on mine, it is in the extra car settings.
cssaawdwawd hi, i only have the reverse camera and it works greate, just don't think that you will see everything behind you in full HD because there is no reverse camera out there that can do that, but it is more than enough on what eonon offers. about the dvr I'm not sure, I guess the quality of the dvr decides how good it will be. I am able to set how low the music volume is while I'm reversing so I guess it is the same with dvr but I'm not sure because I don't use dvr.
if you will listen to alot of Bluetooth music I recommend you the GA2154 because it has Bluetooth version 4 which gives you better sound, the reason I choose this and not ga2154 is because I wanted to have android 6.0 in order for the unit to support spotify further in the future than lollipop, I don't listen to music on Bluetooth if I have spotify on the head unit.
yosefrafael thanks. ga2154 has a dvd slot as well, but it has less space to store stuff and presumably slower as well
yosefrafael is it android 6, mine there isn't on the car settings on the ga2162. I had on the ga2154 with android 5
Hi there...just installed mine yesterday with a friend's help but don't see the illumination of the Eonon buttons coming. My car is a Kia Mohave/Borrego and I am only using the two 8-pin connectors and leaving aside the 20-pin connector....any hints of what could be going on ?

I've connected my Key 1, 2 & GND to the same adapter, however, my head unit is not picking up volume up and down, just the skip and mode buttons. It's the Kenwood DMX5020DABS.
Have I missed something?
Hey man, great video! I just got a Colt 2009 and I would like to repalce my radio (to a single DIN). I'm curious about the set button "remap", does this only work with this particular headunit or is it part of that steering wheel interface cable? Best regards

hey I have a 2012 Subaru Impreza hatch will the same steering wheel module and the other wiring harness work is those universal or only for ur Mitsubishi tnks
andy rampersaud Hi, the one i used is specifically made for Colt 2009, but they such modules for a lot of models.

Hey mate, does the head unit receive it's internet connection via the bluetooth connection? Or does it have to be tethered using a wifi hotspot?
Alex Bowman Hi no it can not receive internet through the blutooth but it can send internet through blutooth to other devices.
it would have been great if it could receive Internet connection through bluetooth, but even if it could do that, Bluetooth 4.0 wouldn't be as fast as internet hotspot.

Alex Bowman I'm not sure, I don't use one, i don't have many apps on it, i have Torque, spotify, a netflix equivalent service called viaplay, apps made by google, smal apps such as shortcuts.
So 12 gig is enough for me, possibly if I want to download a movie to play while I'm driving but then I have to download many movies and I don't drive that long distances, on the other hand your not supposed to use the head unit that much while driving, at least not looking at the headunit while driving.
How long is the boot time if you start the car? Is it annoying? (after the first love fades and you dont have patience)
cssaawdwawd i have timed it and it took between 25-30 seconds to start, I personally don't mind because the first thing I do when i start the car is to put the reverse in and backup, as soon as you put the reverse in it takes only couple of seconds for the reverse camera turn on and show you what is behind you.
Hi There, I have GA2114 and have bluetooth issues where customers can't hear properly do you have the same problem and now my bluetooth stopped working on my phone don't know and I am sending back my headunit to their service centre.
champak ram I'm not sure what you mean but my Bluetooth on my head unit is still working, i almost never use Bluetooth for music, only calls, have spotify installed on the head unit just like the ga2162.
I wanted to know the quality of the call between you and other party who is listening to you as people complain on my GA2114 they can't hear me properly. This is what i have seen on XDA forums.
There are rumors that the manufacture is working on a patch or some software fix. But until then there are plenty of threads detailing how to make a hardware mod that makes the sound tolerable.

champak ram actually i also had this issue, not just that, the external mic input didn't work at all and it wasn't the mic it self that didn't work but from the unit.
so what i did was that i opened the head unit, soldered the wires on the external mic to the head unit wires for the internal mic. so with other words i redirected the sound input from my internal mic to my external mic because the external mic is a better hardware than the internal mic.
That made the sound quality better than before but not as good as i wish it had, but better than before.
What about Board Computer???
