Thank you for the Video. Not easy at all but certainly video helped. I strongly recommend the spare fuse units on hand and proper tools i.e., tester etc prior starting this project. The rear camera not going to work with factory fitted camera so cut the cable and install new camera you receive with unit.
Looks easy but it’s not. Haha just purchased a 2009 outlander and planning to upgrade the head unit and install rear camera but after i watch your video its very difficult to install especially for me as no knowledge haha i reckon i better to my local car shop installer . Nice video mate

For the GPS antenna, I found if you take the plastic dash off above the radio (4 screws), it can fit nicely under there towards the front of the car and and it's out of sight then.
Hi Andrew any chance I could check the unit working or not ? because after following your video , I tried to connect but no power. ( I did not plug in all the cable , just a main cable to see if it functions prior putting all cords as per video)
I was able to test it by just plugging in the main cable, as you said. I have found that it does need the ignition to be on. Make sure it's pushed into the connectors all the way, mine were a bit stiff to push all the way.
@@UniversalMatt Hi Mate, Thanks for the reponse, did try pushing in and out safely so I could not break it , before I head out mechanic I wanted to ask did you had anythigng to do with that BLACK cable ? In video black cable was place to the screw as Neutral or something. if not then Unit it either faulty or may be wrong harnesses, thanks
@@UniversalMatt Hi, just done installing finally. jizz those fuses are really tiny and sensitive, end up changing fuse 3 times and finally 20amp worked on head unit. but its all good now.

I connected cable harness properly (i cant connect it other ways). Can you tell more about setup steering wheel control?
What if your car already has the camera? Mine already has the nav and backup camera but nav is outdated.
Hello, it is better to put the camera in the spoiler, the truck comes out much faster and buy the bulb to put the camera there.

Is it Rockford type? You'll have to connect the amp to make it work.. Connect blue wires together within the stereo itself

Yeah I also get no audio, am I missing a dongle ? I know the red and white audio out cables are there but hopefully I don't have to install an amp?
