The guy is called Trots short for "Trotsky" since he's the one who was at breakfast talking about taking industrial action because of the bad safety conditions. If you look in his cabin at the start of the game he has a bunch of union flyers and so on.
For the people in chat confused about how diabetes and insulin works: "...in someone with 0 percent insulin production, they'll begin to fall ill within 12 to 24 hours after their last insulin injection, depending on its duration of effect. Within 24 to 48 hours, they'll be in DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis). Beyond that, mortal outcomes would likely occur within days to perhaps a week or two." The symptoms that Roy described having fit with the 'falling ill' part, hence why he believed he needed his insulin. Add to that the stress of the fight or flight response, meaning his body was demanding more energy than his blood could supply due to the lack of insulin, and he would indeed be in some danger. The fact is that not everyone that has this kind of diabetes is a complete non-producer. There are some folks who just don't produce _enough_ insulin and so can go longer between injections. Roy is clearly not one of these.
@@DDRJake The problem with just eating jam is that insulin is still needed to get the sugar from your blood into your cells. Otherwise you just piss it back out.
The voice acting is superb. I'm also really impressed with the attention to detail the devs put into this game, with regards to level design and little background details. The 70's style Christmas decorations really surprised me. I just never thought I'd see something like that in a video game. It shows a lot of love.
Absolutely wonderful stream that one. Even if there wasnt as much direct scary horror, the atmosphere and especially dialogue was just amazing and wonderful. Allthough it is quite horrifying to imagine Roy being a unironic Barnsley fan. Ugh.
Voice actor trivia time! The protagonist is voiced by Alec Newman, who played Paul Atreides in the Dune miniseries and voiced Adam Smasher in Cyberpunk.
I'm norwegian and worked on norwegian oil producing rigs on the norwegian side of the north sea from 2010 to 2022. UK rigs were known to us as being run down, dirty and dangerous to work at. never visited one though
Some of this week's spook games may have been a miss, but this one seems great already. Really giving Dead Space/SOMA/Callisto Protocol vibes in the fleshy horror they drilled into. And the accents, yeah, sound identical to this other scottish man I watch here in UA-cam, and unlike you, boy does he kept the accent. XD
How can you resist walking around all that machinery and not bringing out the impact drill? Can you imagine the loot? There were more than a few moments I felt like you were about to bring out your pickaxe too. I wonder how long you will be able to stay away from 7 Days to Die, if your record with Caesar and Frostpunk are any indication, I'd guess not long.

Should have eaten that jam.

I got this game for the horror, but played it through to the end for the dialogue and character moments.
Did we ever find out what Addair's problem was? I went back to the canteen scene at the start and didn't see any interaction with him.
I missed a scene of chatting with him at the canteen, where he and Caz have a very standoff conversation.

Not just the rigs, the whole country.
@@connorkelly5457 i guess thats also true
Hi i want to work on oil rig in the future. Do you recommend me to study any major? Or learn something before it?
@@mehmetfatihcetin5932 I would study any major you notice the oil companies have a need for, if its in finance, geology, HR or IT idk..
Not the kind of game I'd play, but it was fun to watch.
Why is Dark Young losing it at the water moments so funny
This game seems to be a cross between Proteus and The Mist which is not a bad thing.

50:00 I wouldn't have definitely stopped mid emergency to eat for a minute
Ahh my favorite horror game, Still Wakes the Dredge.
