If one doesn't mind potentially having to add a bit of a sidequest towards the end of the adventure it'd be interesting to have the party find the horn very early on in their adventure instead, before they fully know of it's importance. if they manage to hold on to it, great! Now that seemingly random thing they got was secretly a forshadowing of future parts of the adventure. Cool. More likely tho, given the rule of reciprocity, they'll probably have given it away as a gift at some point during their adventure. Now you have a sidequest where they have to remember/track down who they gave it too and you can spin it into a fun look-back at the places they've been that ends with them having to barter back their item in exchange for something far more important than whatever they traded it for earlier. Or maybe the League of Malevolence has managed to get their hands on it. Maybe both them and the party now know where it is and have to race each other there. There's a ton of possibilities here.
Man, I wish I had seen this video before I sent my players racing through Prismeer. I've got a bit of backtracking to do now in order to move the horn into Skyllas possession :D Kæmpe tak for mega gode videoer ! Flere, tak :D
@@EventyrGames Ah that's interestiing, sorry for correcting you then. But that explains why the alicorn comment confused me since the game only talks about a unicorn. I have only heard alicorn in refence to the winged unicorn creature.
Thank god i saw your video before my players went to Yon! By their d8 roll, the horn would be with the perytons but I also think it's a bad spot, so i'm moving it to Skylla's. My players like to fight just like i do, so it will be good stuff for sure
I'm running WBtW as of the time of this post. I have not yet done a thorough read-through, but to anyone who has, can you let me know if the book ever talks about how or why it was removed in the first place? I read the mention of Elidon as Skabatha's flying rocking horse... but does that imply she removed his horn before changing him into her construct? If not, who or what removed it? If so, why not use it immediately to resolve the situation at the castle? It's a fun campaign and great setting, but details like this being left out is a bit annoying. In any case, I may or may not even detach the horn from Elidon and just have it/him be part of the plan to rescue Zybilna. It/he will be a magical McGuffin for the party to collect before starting the epic finale.
Randomized plot tokens have been associated with the Domains of Dread since the original I6 Ravenloft, so I'm not surprised that they included it in a Domains of Delight adventure too.

I am currently preping this Adventure and your videos have been very helpful so far!
Glad it was helpful!

Amazing video! Thank you so much for the advice!
Alicorn actually means a winged unicorn. Like a pegasus unicorn hybrid.
Hi!
It seems it can mean both: en.wiktionary.org/wiki/alicorn :)

This helped so much. Thanks!

I can't get over the fact that the freaking core item to end the quest is on a random drop table.
This campaign is such a mess.
That is really weird and while I get the idea, I don't think it was necessarily the best one :o
