  • Trying to find a house for rent in Hertfordshire over the past year has been an extreme sport but here are a few of the properties I have seen.
    Due to my work and school load, I only went to see the good places that I would consider living in. However there were some horrible places but this is not that kind of video lol.
    In this video you can expect a realistic approach to house hunting, what to expect when renting in the UK, realistic house prices for towns in hertfordshire, and real cost of renting in the UK/ hertfordshire.
    These costs vary significantly for different areas of the country of course but this is where I live so its my current reality.
    I hope the video is useful and thanks for watching.
    Love//
    Kacha.

    You made a great decision with the house you went for. I hope the house is as nice and it seems and that you get along with your house mate 😊

    House prices are insane! I live in the North East and have a 3 bedroom house with 2 gardens, living, kitchen, dining room and 2 bathrooms for £775! And yet I am still considering moving down South because there is just nothing happening up here... ahhh

      I know right!...I used to live up North as well, Middlesbrough and Newcastle to be precise...that's why these prices hurt so much 😭.

    I hope you find somewhere soon. It's such a nightmare. We used to live in that area and have friends who still do. It's mad how much prices have risen. We had a big 2 bed apartment for £750 a month more towards the edge of London and now all those flats are now going for about £1300.

      I hope so too!. The prices are really high for renting its no wonder people are opting to buy where they can.

      But if you were a landlord, I’m sure you wouldn’t complain or turn down an additional £550 per month?

      It's rediculous in Hertfordshire, it's not even justifyable.

    Any suggestions for decent place for single/couple accomodation in Cambridge without paying to the agency?

      Agency fees are no longer legal in the UK for renting to private individuals. If an agent is trying to take fees from you then they may be doing so illegitimately.

    Do u guys also wear shoes in the houses in UK too?

    • @chimkasii
      @chimkasii  2 роки тому

      Haha depends on the person. Some people tell you to leave your shoes at the door, others don't mind

    Can two people share a room

    • @chimkasii
      @chimkasii  Рік тому

      Yes although some agents can get funny about the number of people in a house because or regulations.
      In some areas in the UK, if 3 or more unrelated people are sharing a house the landlord might need to get a license to rent to them.

    How do you bargain? Do you just say I would prefer to pay x amount etc

    • @chimkasii
      @chimkasii  3 роки тому +7

      Hey, I say something like 'Thanks for showing me the property the other day, I really liked it but it's a bit over my budget, could you consider taking £950pm instead of £1150?" for example.
      It might be worth pointing out a few things that you might have to change or isn't ideal about the property. Sometimes I mention that I'll be a good tenant and look after the property (which I will) 😂
      If there's high demand the agents/landlords are less likely to consider it but if not then you might have a chance or they'll come back with what reductions they can do.
      Hope that helps and Goodluck xx

      @@chimkasii Oh please! Come on, this is bullshit advice and you know it! London especially is so competitive and there are so many people going after one given property. If you can’t afford the property, someone else will make an offer that same day at the asking price and if they love the property, they will make an offer slightly above asking price. Let’s not lie to people! Most rentals have a rent increase each year. If you can’t afford the asking price, how are you going to pay for the increased rent??

    • @chimkasii
      @chimkasii  2 роки тому +7

      @@theminimalist2063 relax, it clearly says in my comment that if there is high demand the chances are slim...but if you don't ask, you don't get, the worst they can say is no.
      Also, the video isn't based on London prices although demand here has gone crazy since COVID.
      In the property I'm living in at the moment, i bargained to get my total rent lower, and did even though demand here was and still is pretty high.
      So I'm not lying to people, just sharing that you CAN bargain for a bit less. Also, prices of things are high so if you can save £50 a month on rent you could put that towards another bill. Not everyone is in the same financial situation.
      Have a blessed day x.
