Do you think it's odd that I naturally strum up with single string picking, and strum down when playing chords? (I can alternate pick now) sweep picking has been the hardest challenge though. I am self taught as well.
dedicated this to my son who had troubles at birth and I was scared I was going to lose him. kept listening to this song for some reason and he's the only thing I think about when I hear it. I love you Xander. daddy will always keep you safe.
Thank you both I didnt even know this comment got any attention... Xander is almost 2 come march and hes stout, strong and cute as can be. I'm really truly a lucky guy. Still love this song a lot and when I listen to it I get sad and teary eyed but I just think about him.
@@sebastiandeery9065 thanks you:) this boy will be 3 in March and he's been bullying his 5 year old brother. Lol I'm telling you guys, he's a tough kid. Luckily those 2 brothers absolutely adore each other.
Oompa Loompa Technically this would probably be labeled as Progressive Djent or Ambient Metal. There are many forms of metal, doesnt always have to be hard breakdowns and shredding.
I was abused as a child and my entire family hated me because of who my parents were. Spent two decades suffering under that thinking it was normal and I deserved it. It took years for me to finally walk away from it all and find my own way in life away from my abusers And if it wasn't for music like this I could never have survived that challenge. Homeless on the streets, but at least this song kept me content. Thank you Plini sincerely for reminding me real love and care still exists even if I have yet to experience it.
Ah yes, the song that started it all for me. To think that I almost turned off spotify's recommendation playlist before this popped up when I was on my way to take a friend to work... ever since I've taken the sound of music to heart. I will never stop reaching for my goal, and it's almost all because of you, thank you so much!
Flann Bolger, they're a Japanese post/math rock band, I recommend you listening to their songs "Two Moons", "Goodbye(feat. Toki Asako)" and "Run for Word".
michael shapiro i seen animals as leaders and he was supporting with intervals and such. i just classed them all as brilliant working together. i was watching live ones as the time i wrote this. must have muddled myself up x
This is my favourite song. It has been for years now. I'm going through heartache atm and this song is just really speaking to me. The contrast in sections showing that light/darkness of a heart. The happy and the sad. It's amazing and the live version on the Japan gig was beautiful too. My favourite artist and song by a mile.
@@Allardino Oh for sure man! Look up "Archetype: Tim Henson" he did it as an ad or promo for a brand that sells mixing hardware and software, it is VERY much so eerily akin to HEART in notes
It's mainly because our governments thrive off of their citizens being compulsive consumers, hence why beautiful art is kept from the masses to steal from them the desire to create
Love the creativity behind this one. Love the random, "chat-chat-chat" noises in the background. It reminds me of one of those fancy restaurants where they prepare the food right in front of you, with blades drawn, cutting boards out with the sound of chopping and casual commotion.
I was listening to a random instrumental playlist as background music for drawing and then I heard the clicking at the start of this song, without knowing what song it as visually. I made that scrunched up, 'Yessss', face and correspondingly said "Yessss." I love your music Plini.
Well fuck. I'm a music major (voice), but I've never studied jazz. Your song "other things" just sounded very educated. There's a shred band from my area that's getting a ton of attention for how fast they play, but their compositions just sound amateurish. You guys fooled me.
Plini Bro you're like one of my fave players thank you for your music!! I was wondering do you know of a rig that can give me a crystal glassy tone on the cleans and breaks up gorgeously with OD and is affordable?
Probably VST plugins such as EzDrummer or Addictive drums. I'm a producer myself and I use 'em, I record the MIDI with my velocity sensitive keyboard so it sounds more legit. You can really make them sound good (I don't guarantee he used those particular plugins)
I love Shenmue's music, and I die from nostalgia every time I hear it in other works. This is incredible and I'm kinda ashamed I hadn't heard it until now.
Okay, I mentioned this on another song, I know this, but are Plini and David Maxim Micic the same person? This album and BILO 3.0 are just way too similar.
I will add that Plini adds a very unique flavor to it. Perhaps they simply stumbled upon the same album concept or one of them is a big fan of the other.
Tyler Mabry i honestly don't hear that many similarities; plini is way more tame, and doesn't share any similar melodies or anything with david really they're both possibly in some vein of "progressive" music if that counts for anything though maybe you're new to syncopated rhythms? that's another thing they have in common
tarantularose I've got a lot of experience with syncopated rhythms because I play African drums. I value your opinion but I disagree with it. This particular album shares many similar melodies with Micic's Bilo series. But we each have our own opinions brought about through unique, subjective experiences. Neither is wrong. They're just different.
Tyler Mabry i'm not going to flip out at you, don't worry about that :P but i would like to know if there's a particular part that stands out to you as reminiscent of micic that you could point out to me, for sake of comparison i didn't personally catch anything
such a positive attitude towards music, so gentle, good vibes, spiritual, good mood. we don't have to be in the edge and so tense in life, sometimes we must lay back relax and appreciate life without going against the current.

Something's up with Australians and their music lately.
Well, even the guy who composed the soundtrack for the video game Doom is Australian.

what a gorgeous song. Never would i have imagined as a metalhead i would find this gem.

Same here! I also love the reference he makes to "Sweet Nothings" throughout the song ^^
Exactly what I think too
Cryptonic Garden Other way around I believe. Sweet Nothings references this release as this is one of his first.

Ben B who is TOE? I want to check them out
Flann Bolger, they're a Japanese post/math rock band, I recommend you listening to their songs "Two Moons", "Goodbye(feat. Toki Asako)" and "Run for Word".
I just got into Toe and their album “The future is now“ and noticed the similarities! I know what you mean!! :)
It sound like a rendition of Tsuki Kake, but with twist of jazzy, extended chords and more latin-influenced rhythm section.
Plini please never stop!

perfectly alright, they're all great bands with a similar sound, easy to mix up.
This sound basically like purgatory by Tim Henson or Archetype Tim Henson
You mean Purgatory by Tim Henson basically sounds like this.
The amount of amazing music in general coming out of Australia lately is phenomenal.
Reminds me of Animal Crossing. I like!!
A lot of this song really reminds me of David Maxim Micic's writing. Stellar and genius.
This is my favourite song. It has been for years now. I'm going through heartache atm and this song is just really speaking to me. The contrast in sections showing that light/darkness of a heart. sounds like tim henson got some influences from here from his archetype plug-in video :)
This sounds like the "Please Hold" music for God's Business Number. Haha.
Only around 45.000 plays from other people than me??
Fortunately, intelligence can spread. It's not common, thought it is possible.
No, it's just a handful, cuz I've replayed it 44,933 times xD
Has anyone noticed that the end of Paper Moon leads into this song with the clicking?
Glad someone else has, I listen back to back frequently
So what are the chances Tim Henson used this as motive for his archetype plugin demo? I recognise that main line off the bat
Man, can't believe Tim Henson played a rendition of this! Rock on, Plini! You have a further reach than you think!

the definition of video game music
getting some serious opeth vibes from the second half of this song, but with a ton of atmosphere layered over it that you just dont get with opeth.
Thank you for making me a better person, almost 10 years ago now. Your music is and always has been so healing.
Everytime I play a platformer like Rayman, Banjo and Kazooie, Donkey Kong, ect. I always put on this song. Lol absolutely top.

You are correct 😊
I just Realized that the very end to paper moon is also the intro to Heart. :0

was the beginning recorded on a phone or something and then used in the song as a tribute to first writing the melody?
