Robert .Breedlove Yeah, I actually applaud Sucker Punch for that decision. It showed that decisions are not always black and white. On the surface, you would think that Kuo was good and Nix was bad. However, Kuo tries to stop you if you activate the ray sphere not because she was evil, but because she was afraid to die. While Nix, will side with you because she wants revenge for the death of her 'babies'. She wasn't trying to be good, she just wanted to get vengeance. That's why I love inFamous 2's branching story the most. Not matter if you choose the good or the bad ending, you will still end up saving/killing people. Usually I'd only do the evil way for the Trophies or to cause mayhem but with inFamous 2, it was actually enjoyable and thought provoking.
ussocomfreak At times I didn't think it was branching enough. Like at the fort Kuo warns that if you side with Nix she would be forced to hunt you down. There are just so many thoughts about this ending. The one that I want to say today is how the game instructs you to hold down L1 L2 R1 R2, then it tells you ... tells you to _let go_. It was just so heartwrenching. I am basically killing off Cole and the Conduits after all that fun I had with the two true entries of Infamous. And to add to your statement it basically mirrors the beginning of Infamous one. Where you pressed start to set off the raysphere to start this whole adventure off and in the end instead of pushing a button your letting go of them. And once you do you not only stop the beast and save the humans with the plague. But you also watch the end of Cole’s story. The fact that Delsin is alive when this ending is likely the one used for the story in second son, some conduits survived it, so he is likely strong enough to return in some way. Maybe even not in second son, but maybe in a small way
I just realized the good karmic end line "I love you brother, and I'm sure gonna miss you" is the same as the InFamous second son good karmic end line Lol.

I speculate that there are two universes, one with the good ending and one with the bad but that is just a thread I hang onto to recognize Cole as alive
I want more infamous with the original characters... Either playing as Kessler and going through the events leading to the first game or playing as Zeke after the ending of this one
I just played infsmous 2 and RDR 1 simultaneously and guess what, all main characters died.. thats a double whammy to the existential crisis after you finish a game.. I finished RDR1 first and infamous 2 on the next day..
Both of the endings have one of the most loved characters dying in it and i belive that the next game (if it is coming) have to at least mention the person who have died.
Damn this ending... This game had so much potential for a good trilogy, like the story feels like a third and final entry, instead of it being a sequel to the first one.
I just started Second Son, and to be honest, I don't see how either of these endings transitions to that game. In the good ending, Cole eradicates all Conduits to save humanity, in the bad ending, he sacrifices humanity to usher in the new evolution of Conduits. Is Second Son separate or is there something I'm missing? Usually in games like this one of the two endings is considered canon.
This game states that ALL Conduits die thanks to the RFI, but the developers retcon it so the shockwave that killed the Conduits had a limit of reach so some others on the other side of the world survived. But in my opinion, that decision was stupid and defied the good ending of this game. As Conduits were treated as terrorists even if they weren't even active or did nothing wrong. Second Son sucked anyway....
What I don't get is how dodgy some of the conduits survive because the beast had already turned augastine into a conduit by this time. Also they started getting their powers on their own instead of being exposed to a ray sphere I don't think they actualy answered that in coles legacy Any ideas why?
Even if the bad end leads to billions of deaths, it’s much less personal then the bad end of second son. I can’t imagine murdering your own family because they turned you away after you became a monster. It feels so much worse and dirty
Second Son I will say did not make a good enoigh effort in the evil run to show how awful humans are to mutants so it would make Delsin more justified to be hateful they layed some foundation but he just turns into a sadomasochist vs Magneto which would make more sense
The evil run, Eugene and Fetch had one clear canon story Eugene slaightering the Akura and Fetch with drug dealers yet they miss the mark with Fetch by adding in the protesters who had minimal impact for Fetches rage vs Drug dealers you would have a clear moral dilemma
Nix wanted the beast dead kinda for the wrong reasons and as far as I can tell, she wouldn’t care if the RFI failed at curing the plague, what really bothers me is that the fans treat her like a hero
i still have my infamous 2 backpack, i used it so much that i busted the zipper. i wish i could fix it up again. either way i bought me another one off of eBay, i still have my first one since i feel i may one day be able to get it fixed. Cole was a great character and i wish we could of still found a way to keep playing as him.
Why isn’t sucker punch continuing the infamous franchise? It’s like one of their best games isn’t it? I don’t get why they would let a good thing just die out like that.
This choice really sucked because neither outcome makes you come up smelling roses. Yes, Cole’s sacrifice is very noble and proves he’s a hero, but a good chunk of the conduits weren’t evil, just normal people that were unaware of their potential. But, at the same time, I can’t fault Cole because they didn’t have a choice. The beast was about to do the exact same thing, so it was literally do or die. Sad thing was, it was do…then die.
John Gibbons the first blast caused the plague which was a ray sphere radiation based virus. what he is saying is that activating the RFI (acording to coles legacy context) either only whiped out 90% of conduits (pretty half assed answer) or caused the plague to mutate into a conduit gene activator (not a power giver but it just turns normal people into potential conduits, why else would the DUP's put conduit detectors around the city if finding potential conduits wasent just as important as catching the ones already loose in seattle
CONSPIRACY THEORY ZEKE is DESLIN!? After Cole set the bomb off and killed all the conduits, Zeke gained a small bit of every conduits power, and just didn't remember after the blast, that's why he can gain any conduits power. He just can't remember how too use them all that's why he sees flashbacks and stuff when he gets a new power, that's just him relearning the power and taking their knowledge to use it. No? Too far fetched? Shitty pun... I'll go home.
This was truly a sad moment. But it also made me proud to play as Good Cole. Still haven't gotten used to Cole's death. Maybe that's why I still haven't given Second Son a chance. I watched a playthrough of it and the story is cool and all... but it doesn't seem like Infamous without Cole. Update: I have tried our Second Son years ago and it was a good game and Delsin was a good MC. Kind of surprised Delsin’s story didn’t continue in a sequel by now.
Israel Treviño I know what you mean man. I had so many feels while I was watching Cole's exploits in the end credits. I'm going to miss that guy, but I hope they don't bring him back. As much as I would like to see him again, bringing him back would feel cheap and ruin the moment as his sacrifice wouldn't mean anything.
Adonan the stoic Agreed. If they would bring Cole back, I'd rather it be in like a Playstation all stars sequel to where it doesn't cheat Infamous 2. I mean I miss Cole, and I'm ok with Delsin (now that I gave second son a chance)... but Cole made the ultimate sacrifice... it would be really cheep to just make him pop up in new Infamous games
Yep! I miss this game. But I wonder, did they ever explain why they put it there? It's so weird. It really makes you start theorizing and then it was nothing.
@@infamousplayer8772 tbh I never noticed the light bolt hit the boat at the end until I replayed infamous 2 the other day. I'm kind of sad because I missed all of the infamous 2 hype because we got it 3 years after it came out.
Can't anyone just accept Cole's sacrifice? His death was the most memorable good ending. I just wish others would see the ending lightning bolt as a homage to a great person.
I love that he didn't say some stereotypically macho response to Kuo, he didn't kiss her, he didn't even say a "Everything's going to be okay" platitude. All he said when she said she was scared was "I am too."
Nix is direct and to the point. She doesn't care about collateral damage, or what society call "right", but when she has an enemy, her goal is to bring it down, regardless of cost. Kuo seems self preserving. Yes, she'd like to help others, but she also wants to live. I like these characters because they can't be so easily divided into "good" and "evil" They're just different.
If you analyze the story correctly, Kuo wants to survive, but it’s evil because the whole game she was a good one but then, when the ultimate choice comes the ultimate good, she backtracks even though she knows cause decision is the right one. Nix was the good one in this example, but it wasn’t like how cole decided she just wanted revenge for the beast killing those creatures, but it just so happened it lined up with the good decision
I like how cole keeps referring and changing his mind on which choice he should choose in the beginning it shows how uncertain and scared cole is about his final decision and also how human he is.
you could hear it in his voice when he chuckled and said "ah, this plan sucks" it shows that if there were ANY other option, he would choose that over this.
I mean he lost Trish, his future and the two kids he never got to have… why would he be evil. Life doesn’t matter because his destiny was to defeat the Beast man has lost everything Everything except Zeke. And knowing Zeke would die, he’d be alone. He’d be sad because Zeke is the last one of what he considers family. “I don’t call you brother, just because I’d like the way it sounds.” - Zeke. This is the true Ending…
@@enclaveleader6245 Trying to survive has nothing to do with being evil, Everyone besides kids (which we do not see in infamous) are guilty and talking to them or destroying one beast and getting yourself killed would not help anyone except leave your dead body honored for a single second and then when people kill conduits or fight them again it ends with you starting all over
Looking back at this ending again... I love it even more than before. Even as Cole does as Kessler asked him to do and kills the Beast... he did it by rejecting the person Kessler tried to make him into. Kessler killed Trish and pulled his friendship with Zeke apart so that Cole would have nothing to live for... no reason to hold back against the Beast. Instead, Cole becomes the hero BECAUSE he forgave Zeke, BECAUSE he remembered how proud Trish was of him for being a hero, BECAUSE he wanted to be more than a broken body and demented mind like Sasha and Kessler, BECAUSE of his humanity... the very humanity Kessler tried to take from Cole... Cole was able to become the hero and make the ultimate sacrifice. Cole may have fulfilled Kessler's goal.... but he did it by becoming everything Kessler was not.
@@mikeprice7124 I’m not saying Kessler was noble. I’m saying that Good Cole is noble, by killing the Beast as Kessler demanded, but doing it by rejecting everything Kessler wanted him to be. Good Cole stopped the Beast by embracing his humanity and doing what needed to be done for the majority, rather than for himself as Kessler would have done.
@@mikeprice7124 Oh, I see. Somewhere along the way I got confused thinking you thought I believed Kessler to be noble. 😂😂 Good to see we were actually on the same page the whole time. No zeke ruined his relationship with cole. This hypocrite had the nerve to say ppl would die wgen he selfishly tried to use the raysphere to get powers himself. Hes a shitty character and i love that you can kill him on the evil ending
I keep thinking that the real Cole was immune to water as well ... Like, if getting struck by lightning doesn't kill you, neither does getting splashed by water. Water should amplify your powers as a lightning conduit. That, and I can't stand the fact that Cole wouldn't be able to take a proper shower in his condition. After a while, it'd get smelly. They just added this info/fact because they were too lazy to come up with something good, like proper mechanics and animation, in case he falls into water. Now it's instant death, so it's nothing to worry about.
Guy Fawkes Cole would be able to take a shower though? It's just when he's submerged in water. It's the same thing that happens to a toaster or household appliance when dropped in water, it electrocutes the things around and itself. Merely getting it wet won't hurt it too much, but submerge that shit and you've got yourself a broken toaster
anyone notice that the line at the end that zeke says "I love you brother, and im sure gonna miss you" is the same line Delsin said and the end of Infamous Second son's good ending?
I like the twist at the end in which kuo is now the bad karma choice and nix is the good karma choice. I didn't expect that when I first played, even Cole was surprised lol.
well both endings are really hard to bare. killing your best friend to save some people including yourself or killing yourself for the greater good and the lives of billions
Well I mean guns to hurt him and can kill him. Just he heals. He'd heal from damage he took from water to. But I think you're right. Water would kill him faster
I liked how Infamous 2's plot related somewhat to the duality in people--not just in Cole, but to his partners Kuo and Nix, also relating to their powers. Nix is passionate and red-hot when it comes to her rage, but is warm-hearted when she opens up to Cole about her family and when she takes care of the Corrupted she calls her "babies." Kuo, on the other side, had an icy-cold exterior when she was an NSA agent. After awakening her powers, the ice conduit demostrated her fragility, or "brittleness," when she not only was scared of being a freak, but became so afraid of her own death that she stood against Cole. Ultimately, the one you think is the "good" girl goes "evil" and vice versa, throwing you off balance for the ending. (Still sucks that Nix dies no matter what, though.)
Ya know, it's sort of poetic how the man with the electricity powers is the one to decide the fate of humanity. Fire is a symptom of releasing heat, but electricity? Electricity is power itself, flowing through wire like water through a pipe. Electricity is what binds atoms together, what let's our brains do work, what comes down from the heavens. Electricity is the most powerful element a conduit can possess, and it's only fitting that an electric conduit be at the epicenter of the fate of humanity.
@@parry3439 the problem is that he has them for like.....um... 4 days? 5 i think, or even way less (it could be just 2) and he could be in a 1v1 with a conduit with years of experience with a power he barely achieved seconds before the fight
Mal Dougs, They did make infamous 3. Its called “infamous: second son,” it is kinda fun but you don’t get to play as Cole, he is mentioned in some Easter eggs.

They (Edit: 'the', no they...*) way they made the moral choices flip at the end was always amazing to me. Not because it was executed flawlessly, but just because I had never seen the good alignment become the bad(Edit: Almost wrote Black, meant 'bad' xD) alignment, and the other way around. It's neat
@@gaelurquiz5755 Dude I don't even know 1: Why I wrote that 2: Why I failed and misspelled (presumably) black? (I think I wanted to write Bad) and 3: Yeah no, that just looked incredibly racist somehow, I'm sorry xD I might have little bit of brain damage :>

It feels like games these days are made to maximize profits or FPS or some other unecessary and stupid milestone. Games during Infamous' era made me feel so alive, it felt like i was living as another person and was always excited or looking forward to the next quest or the next storyline, every game had so much content and passion put into it. It wasnt about getting the most sales, it was about conveying a story and wanting to share it with the rest of the world. The final word on Omegle describes the modern world best, i feels like today is more "passive consumption rather than active participation" i dont feel engaged or alive anymore when i play videogames, theyre just not the same as they once were. People before made such beautiful pieces of art, but today, its all profit margins and formula's for dopamine. The life has been sucked out of it (wether its 10 sequels like in Fast and furious, or its clickbaity titles and thumbnails like with Mr. Beast and Pewdiepie). I could just be some angsty teen, but it just seems so much harder to find an experience that you just want to dive into, there are many less "yoooo thats so cool" moments compared to before. It used to be exciting to play videogames, now it just feels like its something to do when you have nothing better to do.

when i did that ending, i literally cried
I just wish they went back to this timeline and give us the game set after the beast ending, I feel like Cole's story ended too soon
Imagine he came back to life after the lighting
It’s so weird to think that the “renegade” love choice is the one on the side of good and the “paragon” love choice is on the bad side
Know how the lightning hit cole at the end or not
So if it did he returns
But if no goodbye it was a great series who agrees
I just started Second Son, and to be honest, I don't see how either of these endings transitions to that game. In the good ending, Cole eradicates all Conduits to save humanity, in the bad ending, he sacrifices humanity to usher in the new evolution of Conduits. Is Second Son separate or is there something I'm missing? Usually in games like this one of the two endings is considered canon.
The Ray Sphere killed thousands of conduits, but more were activated after it happened.
I'll see if my opinion changes after I've finished second son
The RFI, wasn't able to detect some of the mutant conduit genes, therefore meaning that a select few survived the blast, even in New Marais,
Pay attention the the lightning at the end. The lightning is shaped like a...
Can we talk about how nix dies in either route. Like bro
I'm gonna guess that the lightning brought him back to life and gave him back his powers.
I like being evil because I don't have to worry about hurting civilians
I just noticed a small detail depending on your rank the shirt in this cutscene changes
Just replayed both 1 and 2, ending still hits hard.
Memories of me play this in 2012..
What I don't get is how dodgy some of the conduits survive because the beast had already turned augastine into a conduit by this time. Also they started getting their powers on their own instead of being exposed to a ray sphere I don't think they actualy answered that in coles legacy Any ideas why?
That was just a bullshit retcon
Even if the bad end leads to billions of deaths, it’s much less personal then the bad end of second son. I can’t imagine murdering your own family because they turned you away after you became a monster. It feels so much worse and dirty
They are a tribe what did you expect?
Second Son I will say did not make a good enoigh effort in the evil run to show how awful humans are to mutants so it would make Delsin more justified to be hateful
they layed some foundation
but he just turns into a sadomasochist vs Magneto which would make more sense
The evil run, Eugene and Fetch had one clear canon story
Eugene slaightering the Akura
and Fetch with drug dealers
yet they miss the mark with Fetch by adding in the protesters who had minimal impact for Fetches rage vs Drug dealers you would have a clear moral dilemma
if you don't cry at Coles death u have no soul
who else remembers killing Zeke in the bad ending I almost cried
Cole looks a little like Jason Statham when u think about it
Nix wanted the beast dead kinda for the wrong reasons and as far as I can tell, she wouldn’t care if the RFI failed at curing the plague, what really bothers me is that the fans treat her like a hero
i still have my infamous 2 backpack, i used it so much that i busted the zipper. i wish i could fix it up again. either way i bought me another one off of eBay, i still have my first one since i feel i may one day be able to get it fixed. Cole was a great character and i wish we could of still found a way to keep playing as him.
I only came to see the L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 prompt.
Who else thinks this the the best action game from 2011 that had the best graphics at the time
Why isn’t sucker punch continuing the infamous franchise? It’s like one of their best games isn’t it? I don’t get why they would let a good thing just die out like that.
movie please....
Seattle is where next infamous takes place
This choice really sucked because neither outcome makes you come up smelling roses. Yes, Cole’s sacrifice is very noble and proves he’s a hero, but a good chunk of the conduits weren’t evil, just normal people that were unaware of their potential. But, at the same time, I can’t fault Cole because they didn’t have a choice. The beast was about to do the exact same thing, so it was literally do or die. Sad thing was, it was do…then die.
Second son has a new character Delsin because the majority of people chose this ending
11:35 here ya go, thats where THE FUCKING ENDING STARTS.
Has anyone noticed that Cole was the epicenter of both blasts. The one that started the conduits and the one that ended it.
John Gibbons The Virus Mutated And Turn People To Conduits
True, but the first blast caused the mutation
John Gibbons the first blast caused the plague which was a ray sphere radiation based virus. what he is saying is that activating the RFI (acording to coles legacy context) either only whiped out 90% of conduits (pretty half assed answer) or caused the plague to mutate into a conduit gene activator (not a power giver but it just turns normal people into potential conduits, why else would the DUP's put conduit detectors around the city if finding potential conduits wasent just as important as catching the ones already loose in seattle
+John G
I know this is an old comment but conduits existed before cole macgrath activated the ray sphere
"I love you brother I'm sure gonna miss you"
didn't delsin say the exact same thing at the end of infamous second son?!
Yeah he did. When Spray painting a memorial for Reggie.
yes
CONSPIRACY THEORY ZEKE is DESLIN!? After Cole set the bomb off and killed all the conduits, Zeke gained a small bit of every conduits power, and just didn't remember after the blast, that's why he can gain any conduits power. He just can't remember how too use them all that's why he sees flashbacks and stuff when he gets a new power, that's just him relearning the power and taking their knowledge to use it. No? Too far fetched? Shitty pun... I'll go home.
JettoIsLife Delsin doesn't look anything like Zeke, Delsin also meets Zeke in the legacy of Cole dlc.
JettoIsLife kids maybe?

Well, it shows the world as it is after infamous 2, you could say it's an infamous 3.
The Marvelous Spider-Man so, after all this time how do you feel now?

Remember when people theorized about that lightning bolt at the end bringing Cole back to life? Good times.
Yep! I miss this game. But I wonder, did they ever explain why they put it there? It's so weird. It really makes you start theorizing and then it was nothing.
@@DigiPowerPT probably just to get people excited for a next game, but pulling us towards the wrong conclusion.
@@infamousplayer8772 tbh I never noticed the light bolt hit the boat at the end until I replayed infamous 2 the other day. I'm kind of sad because I missed all of the infamous 2 hype because we got it 3 years after it came out.

@@SovLestlandia more like depression.
Can't anyone just accept Cole's sacrifice? His death was the most memorable good ending. I just wish others would see the ending lightning bolt as a homage to a great person.
People (myself included) just don't want to admit hes dead, especially not after what happens in the good ending.
"god/good" ending.
shhhhhhhhh :).
I play evil Cole anyways.
yeah why can't people see the blatant truth it was obviously zeus throwing a lightning bolt to finally get rid of zeke's ugly sunglasses
@coreykirby1632 that's a very watered down version of the story and not particularly correct
*POSSIBLE SECOND SON SPOILERS*
I like how delsin said "I love you brother, and I'm sure gonna miss you" at the good ending.
omfg dude realy!
yeah i was just about to say lol but saw your comment
For real though
If you have payed attention to things in infamous SS there is a store called cole MGS electronics
Panda_Fighter lol, yeah I found that, and theres a sign that says "Copper & MacGrath" and there's a big image of sly's face lol
Why cole!
One of my favorite things about inFAMOUS
I mean he lost Trish, his future and the two kids he never got to have… why would he be evil. Life doesn’t matter because his destiny was to defeat the Beast man has lost everything Everything except Zeke. And knowing Zeke would die, he’d be alone. He’d be sad because Zeke is the last one of what he considers family. “I don’t call you brother, just because I’d like the way it sounds.” - Zeke. This is the true Ending…
@@enclaveleader6245 Trying to survive has nothing to do with being evil, Everyone besides kids (which we do not see in infamous) are guilty and talking to them or destroying one beast and getting yourself killed would not help anyone except leave your dead body honored for a single second and then when people kill conduits or fight them again it ends with you starting all over
L1 + L2 + R1 + R2...
I didn't want to let it go. I didn't want this masterpiece to end.
If you hold on you just get a long drawn out note and the hum of the RFI. All you can do is to just... Let Go.
Kessler was insane. If he was really so noble, he would’ve gone back in time and made the RFI himself, and then used it.
@@trevinodude Nono, I’m just saying he wasn’t. I totally agree with you
@@mikeprice7124 Oh, I see. Somewhere along the way I got confused thinking you thought I believed Kessler to be noble. 😂😂 Good to see we were actually on the same page the whole time. Still, it’s been so long since I’ve seen anyone talk about inFAMOUS that this was refreshing, regardless of misunderstanding so thanks for commenting. 👍👍
No zeke ruined his relationship with cole. This hypocrite had the nerve to say ppl would die wgen he selfishly tried to use the raysphere to get powers himself. Hes a shitty character and i love that you can kill him on the evil ending
Okay, the world is safe again after what Delsin did, so you can come out again Cole. It's safe. Lol
Unfortunately, the writers confirmed that Cole's dead for good. D:
+Kiljaz Ink No. No, no, no. No! I refuse to accept that T^T
World was safe after Cole killed all the conduits.
Then Suckerpunch retconned a goddamn tear jerker ending for a mediocre main character
Hey I noticed that,Nice reference Sucker Punch

dude the evil ending was sad af, hated killing zeke
well both endings are really hard to bare. killing your best friend to save some people including yourself or killing yourself for the greater good and the lives of billions
[ ] Yeah but 1 leaves you feeling like a massive douche.
Me too, Zeke was one of my favorite characters
Spoiler alert? Bitch
But Zeke can't be dead because with the Pre-Order bonus Mission, he's in it O-o
They should use water guns against cole
that would make a lot more Sense then actual guns
Well I mean guns to hurt him and can kill him. Just he heals. He'd heal from damage he took from water to. But I think you're right. Water would kill him faster
wouldn't it actually help him? I mean water is one of the biggest conductors of electricity...
You need more then a little squirt of water to hurt cole you need like a pool them he actually gets hurt
@Blueper Draws That's exactly what I've always thought.
Let go. Simplest, easiest, and saddest objective ever.
Not simplest... the simplest objective was “Kuo”
Halo fans know what the hardest objective in gaming is: “Survive.”
I liked how Infamous 2's plot related somewhat to the duality in people--not just in Cole, but to his partners Kuo and Nix, also relating to their powers.
Nix is passionate and red-hot when it comes to her rage, but is warm-hearted when she opens up to Cole about her family and when she takes care of the Corrupted she calls her "babies."
Kuo, on the other side, had an icy-cold exterior when she was an NSA agent.
I don't think kou was evil intentionally but her point of view was evil and I don't think that her conduit powers had anything to do with it
at first i didn't liked nix, it was just another evil cliche character, but in the end you really starts to like her... and then she dies.
do you think kuo should have..."LET IT GO!?!"
Kyledude97 Well, once she got afraid of death, she "couldn't hold it back anymore."
Kyledude97 really
Ya know, it's sort of poetic how the man with the electricity powers is the one to decide the fate of humanity.
Fire is a symptom of releasing heat, but electricity? Electricity is power itself, flowing through wire like water through a pipe. Electricity is what binds atoms together, what let's our brains do work, what comes down from the heavens.
Electricity is the most powerful element a conduit can possess, and it's only fitting that an electric conduit be at the epicenter of the fate of humanity.
Delsin being a literally sponge of powers: 🌚
You’re looking wayyyy to deep into this
