Been covered to death... yet this was amazing. What a vocalist... so much feeling... and what a performance. Unique yet faithful to the original recording in many ways. Awesome.
This song is a masterpiece. accepts heaviness or calm. The vocal work is beautiful, a whisper with range. concise breath, brought from the chest with mastery. beautiful!
This goes strait , onto my favorites list , which my lady and I play , these cold winter nights as we relax ! in front of a log fire ! watching the shadows from the flickering fire , on the walls ( the wood is resposibly sourced ,winter storm damaged branches etc ,from around us ! ) With some nice local ,wine ! MAGIC , with dreams of the comming spring ,and seeing signs of it ! thankyou from rural france . ritchie and chrissy .
Madelyn is a great singer, I love other covers she did, but here, not so much. Here is my favorite cover of Wicked Game (the slow buildup is SO good!): ua-cam.com/video/Tx20k1CVhIo/v-deo.html
@@JeromeMoisand Thanks for the suggestion. I think her voice is a little too weak. I like this version: ua-cam.com/video/CbQCFBtmxio/v-deo.html and the version by Daisy Gray. Ultimately I really think no one was able to sing it better than Chris Isaac.
@@mirabella2154 Oh yes, Daisy's version is fantastic. But I keep coming back to Serena's version, which is more subdued for sure (by design, she does have a powerful voice) but conveys more emotions to me. Karliene is pretty cool too, thanks for sharing, I didn't know her. As to Chris' original version, it is just out of this world...
Seriously this song is always BEAUTIFUL no matter what rendition.
you would not say that if you heard my rendition! : )
@@JGG3345 😂 I'm sure it's not THAT bad.
Thanks : )
The quality and acoustic of this performance are 11 out of 10!
Madelyn Grant is incredibly underrated. Her voice is sublime. Been a fan of hers for years. Well done. 💜
I was sceptical about a cover of this song since the original was so great, but WOW. So glad stories covered this, so I can follow her now.
Beautiful voice. Madelyn sang with a softness that helps show the vulnerability you feel when you fall in love and then lose that love.
Such an expressive voice. Beautiful.
Can't believe her velvet voice
Watching madelyn's expression while singing brought tears to my eyes, not many performances do that.

This song is one of my favorite songs of all time and you definitely do this cover justice! ❤️
I'm mostly a metalhead and synthpop guy when it comes to music, but this is still one of my favorite songs ever. Great cover!
Said you were a metalhead so I gotta make sure you’ve heard the Today Is The Day cover of this same song.
Oh my, these amazing recordings just keep coming! Thank you for making these little gifts

An amazing arrangement and performances as usual, but the soundstage and mixing on this track was incredible.
Love the subtle reharm you all have done so well...thank you.
Hot damn, she's good! Great playing as well, Ryan and company!
My favorite song ever in an amazing version... ❤️
how do I find such a great singer like this Madelyn Grant?? wow...👍
She sings a unique airy sound, so sensual and expressive. Maybe she is the most expressive singer in this channel.
Lovely vocal Madelyn!

Very nice, I was waiting for this version guys!
Stunning vocals!
One of the few amazing covers of famous songs.
Wow! So beautiful.
Love this version, Wolf Alice's remain my favorite.

You successfully flipped Chris' song. Wicked is a 2-way street. Thanks for driving up the other side.
Ya'll should rename this channel info "Lianne le havas Tribute Channel" 😂 all sound like her...
Beautiful voice, but the song was sung too soft.
Exactly.
And way too much vibrato.
Holding notes in singing is almost a lost art.

Love that her voice is raspy ... but her singing of this song sounds a bit ... forced. Sorry, but this is not my thing.
