    Water block is a must. You'll just about eliminate problems and filter changes on your tractors and equipment unless you throw a dirty fuel can in the middle. The water block filters Tractor supply sells catch water and dirt. If you have dirt problems you can ad a standard filter to catch the dirt first as the filters are a lot cheaper. You don't change a water block filter till it pumps so slow you can't stand it or you worry about the pump.

    When mounting the pump, separate the pump from the fill tube flange with the 4- 7/16 bolts. Install the tube and flange in the tank and then mount the pump and the screen to it. Makes spinning the bung in the tank easier without having to spin the whole pump

    You can also be fancy and place a correct size swivel fitting coming out of the filter head into filler hose ;)

    does it take forever to fill up ? I’m looking to get one for my fuel tank but i don’t want to pump it forever . I need something I can easily make a quick stop to fill my tank up if needed . I don’t want a slow pump.

      It's pretty fast. I've used it to refuel my truck since I don't use off road red dyed diesel. For equipment, much quicker than 5 gallon gas cans. And less messy to boot! Honestly when refueling my truck it doesn't feel like much more time than it would at a normal fuel station pump.

    What can I do if the opening of the tank is too big for the pump? I can't seem to find a fitting for it...

      Worst case you could have a welder install the right size bung. But I’d suspect that a commercial plumbing supply store would have the right reducer for your application.

    is your pump outlet a 3/4' female? I purchased a 3/4' Flll-Rite filter head with pipe extension (1200KTG9075) and the pipe extension I assume is 3/4' and it is smaller than my pumps outlet threads

    To avoid the dripping after filling, raise the hose up above the inlet allowing the hose to empty. Having fuel constantly dripping onto the bed of your truck is not a good idea.

    • @ThriftyGarage

      Home Depot iron pipe from the plumbing section. I’d get the galvanized so it doesn’t rust.

      I know this might be a silly question, but does it have fuel at the end of the suction tube? Depending on when this was purchased Fill-Rite has a limited lifetime warranty. You can call customer service at 1-800-634-2695.

    Shut the pump off and release the pressure in the hose so you don't like diesel all of your truck. Kids these days

    95 gallons of on road diesel for equipment? Not very thrifty :-D

    • @ThriftyGarage
      @ThriftyGarage  4 роки тому +1

      In the state of Missouri they don't have red dyed diesel. You have to file Form 4923 to claim a refund for fuel used in off highway applications.

    • @mystiksemporium
      @mystiksemporium 4 роки тому

      Thrifty Garage not true at all. I was just in Missouri and was getting red dyed off road diesel daily.

    • @martinscluff

      In Utah you can buy on road diesel at Costco for cheaper than the red dyed diesel.

      Are you hooking the fuse to negative or positive

    • @ThriftyGarage
      @ThriftyGarage  4 роки тому

      I hooked it up to the negative battery post. Some will recommend a connection near the positive battery post but in reality it will work either way. If the fuse is blown it will prevent power from flowing through that circuit.
