A question no one can seem to find the answer to. What is the process for the SEC schedule. What are the factors and influences? Is there any form of oversight to ensure bias isint involved? Especially in a place like Birmingham. Is it because everyone knows Stricklin isn’t strong enough to say something? Because it’s not just the schedule but also account for this: UGA, Texas, and Ole Miss get a bye week before Florida. Kentucky gets Vandy, FSU get Charlestons Southern, TAMU get McNeese St. Miss St get Toledo. That’s means 7 of the schools will absolutely be fresh and healed before facing Florida. The extremity of this schedule begs the question and the SEC should have to speak to it.

Florida has to win games against Samford, Miss St, UCF, and Kentucky to give them a good shot at a bowl because that four wins off rip. I’m not saying these games will be easy, but it’s probably your four likeliest chances of victory out of the schedule. Samford shouldn’t be up for debate, Mississippi State has a first-year coach and talent-deprived roster, UCF is looked at as a top-five favorite in the Big 12 but it’s UCF, and Kentucky should be a game of pride because the senior class doesn’t want to go winless vs the Wildcats. Let’s look at the other eight games.
Miami is uber-talented. You expect that from having Mario Cristobal as your coach, but you don’t know if Mario is as good as a gameday coach. Good gameday coaches don’t get blown out by Middle Tennessee or give up sure-handed wins because you refuse to kneel the ball. One advantage is that it's the season opener at the Swamp, one of the toughest road environments when Florida is good. If you beat Miami, that will give you huge momentum heading into the A&M game.
A&M is reigning in a new coach and new coordinators. At least Florida has had the same offensive coaches (mostly) from year one to year three. Another factor is the Aggies’ starting QB Connor Weigman. In my opinion, I don’t think he is the “bottom of the barrel”, but he is not in the top half of returning SEC QBs. You win those two in addition to SAM/MSST and head into that first bye week 4-0... Then wins against UCF and UK won't be so hard to imagine.
Tennessee on the road is tough, but Josh Heupel is 1-2 vs UF. So even in Tennessee’s best stretch of football since Fulmer, they struggle against Florida. If UF is 4-1/5-0 heading into Neyland plus the advantage of knowing Napier can beat TENN because of the previous year... no one will think that's an unwinnable game.
For the final five games, you have UGA-Texas-LSU-Ole Miss-FSU. I just flat-out don’t see UF winning against Georgia and Texas, to be honest. LSU won't have the dynamic athleticism of Jayden Daniels to lean on, and their defense will still be kinda bad even with a new coordinator. Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss has lost on the road to some arguably inferior teams. To have them back-to-back at home, see if you can split one.
Finally, Florida State lost way too much production from last year on both sides of the ball and their schedule is tougher than last year. They WILL NOT head into the UF matchup undefeated like they did last season. They may lose 3 or 4 games before Florida comes to Doak Campbell.
So I think the floor & ceiling with UF is anywhere between 4-8 and 8-4.

I think you have to consider the recruiting class. If they go 8-4 but end up with the 30th ranked recruiting class, I don’t think you will be so happy with that record.

Football analysts who picked the top 25 teams put the team they had at 12th ranked against UF schedule. The 12 team over under on total wins was 7. So if we are 7-5 we are equal to 12th ranked team.

Don’t just myopically focus on this season. Recruits are waiting to see on Florida this year. There is no reason to expect our current roster to win more than 6 games this year. I want very badly for us to win 9 and sneak into the playoff, but that’s a pipe dream not based on recent history or realistic projection. If we win less than 8 games, the 25 class will not come together and it will be time to part ways with Billy. I have not seen anything to give me confidence that this team can make the necessary improvements to win 8-9 games with the schedule given. On a side note, if baby VB doesn’t commit, it’s time to panic…

Win/Loss isn't everything. If we are 6-6 but we get there by winning the first 6, Miami, Samford, A&M, State, UCF, and TN but then just crash and burn and lose every game after that, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, LSU, Ole Miss, FSU, I think a lot of fans are going to be upset. To not win another game after October 12th will be unacceptable to people. But let's say we lost to A&M and TN but then finally beat Kentucky and also beat someone like Texas, LSU, or Ole Miss then I think people will be more okay with that than the first scenario. Win/loss isn't everything. It's how close the games are and which games you win and lose.

Depends how bad the losses are. Last year you could directly attribute losses to coaching. If Napier can cut out the boneheaded decisions (game management, abandoning what’s working, terrible trick plays) and keep games close, he could possibly survive with a 4-8 record.
At a minimum, Florida has to beat Samford and UCF, either Miami/FSU, and either Tenn/Kentucky. Ideally they pick up a win over Miss St, and split LSU/A&M to make a bowl game.
The main issue with firing Napier for me is, do you really want him on another SEC teams coaching staff? His talent evaluation, recruiting acumen, and QB coaching ability are seemingly elite, so I’d rather have him on my sideline than my opponents.

If Napier gets fired, he gets a massive buyout, half the roster including Lagway transfer out, and we are in the same place we were in 2021. Then the first year head coach comes into the hardest schedule in the country again, with a fully depleted roster.
The only chance Florida has at returning to relevance in this decade is to get behind Napier through his contract unless the wheels completely fall off (less than 4 wins or losing to UCF counts). See what he can do with Lagway. The recruiting will pick up if Lagway looks good, because kids will want to play with a great QB.
Lastly, I don’t want Strickland picking another coach. He has to go before Napier, so that a new AD can do his own evaluation.

Maybe he'd agree to restructuring his contract like Harbaugh did and then Strick can hire a HC for Offense and Gameday Operations to oversee and advise Billy like we did with Ron Roberts for the DC.

Napier rebuilt the program, he won’t take a pay cut/leave his buyout on the table and hand over the reigns, and no HC worth hiring would be willing to cede that much control. Napier has the loyalty of the roster, so if anything goes wrong, it creates an immediate power struggle and questions of “whose team is it?”.
It worked with Armstrong because he was new, inexperienced, and under qualified, and he knows it, and he had a preexisting relationship with Roberts.

Its year 3 I dont want no excuses he had enough time to flip the roster had 3 years for S&C even tho the first 2 was trash mullen had that covid year we almost went to the playoff with a 2 star QB with an all sec schedule I need to see 8 to 9 wins with how many teams lost players to the draft we need to b better if he stop going for it on 4th down that's 2 extra wins if u ask me last couple of years he has been stupid enough to put the defense in the worse position possible losing to vandy is unacceptable like he should have got fired after that game alone

Just bc you've been a fan for 85 years doesn't make you qualified to determine who the will lose to or beat. UFs defense was atrocious and they have done a major upgrade on it so as a real fan I know they will be 1000 times better than they were in the previous years.
