I'm super excited for advancements in VR/AR so that it becomes a mainstream feature for everyone. The current iterations are promising and utilising it in areas such as gaming and travelling well open so many doors of possibilities
Excellent video! That must have been so cool to get an early hands on like that. I've spent so many off-work hours building AR/VR/MR apps for my employer trying to get them even a shred of how passionate Hugo is. can't wait to see this tech up close some day!
telepresence is really a killer app for VR/AR. Zuckerberg's recent Workrooms VR meeting app was met with indifference in large part for the cartoon looks for avatars but the fact that in VR the 3D, natural scale and natural gestures of people are tracked make it feel natural even with such cartoon avatars. It's not something you can understand from 2D videos, just upclose and personal in VR - or AR is you don't mind transparency. We're still a few iterations away until photorealistic avatars with gaze and face tracking are here...
The right combination of technological advancement with the right software is required to get the metaverse moving forward rapidly with the mainstream.
Brian, a 20 minute ad is not why I subscribe to your channel. We know the technology and can all imagine how it could be used in the future. Are you willing to publish how much you were paid for this video?
Did you watch the whole thing? This was an additional video interview I did that was separate from the main piece. Qualcomm is the main company driving the current AR technology today that you see in the Oculus Quest 2 that has been the first headset to break through to the general consumer. Many of the topics and concepts we talk about apply to what we will see in the future and the trends moving forward. This isn't an ad.
@@briantong honestly no, I watched your previous video with Qualcomm and felt that you gave them too much airtime and thought here we go again. Even though they were prototypes the glasses seemed unusable. To provide balance I love what you do and feel guilty that my first comment has been negative. Big love xx

This looks really promising. I have never been into this type of tech but it looks like it’s moving in the right direction.
there is so many "gadget reviews" I wish someone would do a channel of just deep dives into a technology like this

Really enjoyed the interview. Nice job guys!
A real VP of one of the biggest chip maker just referenced the meta-verse and said “Ready Player One”. I’m pumped! You were first Brian 🙂
Heck yeah, man! It's clear he's driven past a paycheck 😎
This is so cool, I can’t wait to see where it goes :D
Qualcomm was leader in phones back in the day. Now, this Brian Tong is staying on top. Thanks Brian…

$KOPN seems to be very well positioned to capture these design wins. Long history (30 yrs) working with Qualcomm
Would be nice if the AR Glasses wouldn't need a Smartphone at all
