The #25 ranked Gauchos baseball team defeated the Pepperdine Waves at home, 7-5, in a non-conference matchup. UCSB fended off a late Pepperdine rally in the 9th inning to improve to 21-0 at home. Nick Oakley led the way for UCSB with 2 hits in 5 ABs, while Brady Renck led the Waves with 2 hits and 2 RBIs in 4 ABs. Reliever Cole Tryba (2-2) got the win and Matt Ager the save for UCSB, while reliever Gunnar Nichols (2-7) took the loss for Pepperdine.
