LEGO has recently started to cancel a lot of sets at the last minute, with many having been produced already before being pulled. Some have made it out onto the resell market and other cancelled LEGO sets never saw the light of day. Here are some of the most notable cancellations from themes such as LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones and even LEGO City!

I don't think the Temple of Doom deserves to be cancelled. It's just as, if not more, iconic than the other sets Lego have released so far. I'm annoyed no one has ruled out the possibility it could just need a slight rebuild before it comes out.
I really like and appreciate these informative types of videos. It's interesting learning about the history of sets that were and were not released
1:48 the V-22 is a transport heliplane for the US Marine Corps, and apparently there are no civilian variants, unlike many other helicopters which are in both civilian and military service. In terms of a release by Lego, I wouldn't have cared either way tbh
About the Osprey set:
We should also consider that these vehicles are also covered by copyright laws. So, if LEGO is making sets based on a military vehicle, they will need to pay the ones who make these vehicles and it will be weird to ask customers to make a donation to the military using toys for kids. and it will be even weirder for LEGO to do promote (not just with publicity, but also financially) a military set like this since the Osprey is an American military aircraft and LEGO is a Danish company. It's the same reason why LEGO doesn't give discounts for veterans.
I would also want to add something that I heard just a person saying, so take it with a grain of salt: there have been multiple soldiers who reported that it is a nightmare to fly in these things. Some even thought they will going crash while flying in these things... So yeah... let's not promote a flimsy real-life vehicle.
A psycho killed 60 people and wounded 400-900 people (900 includes injuries from panic), so yeah, that's why they switched it out
I wanted the Temple of Doom. Growing up, I liked Short Round because I was a little Asian kid too. I'm glad the actor won an Oscar recently, but such a shame the set was cancelled.
The set wasn’t canceled I actually contacted Lego and they responded with “Lego has not officially canceled the set” so I’m not sure why everyone is saying in is canceled
Sucks that these were canned, though I have confidence that LEGO Phineas and Ferb sets actually might happen particularly in 2024 when the Disney Plus revival releases. Obviously with minifigures. I'd definitely pay top dollar for a set based on Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated.

5:04 oh, wow-I’d never heard that the reason that Overwatch set was cancelled was because The Lego Group didn’t want to be associated with Activision Blizzard.
If that really was the reason, it’s all the more surprising/disappointing that TLG is still ok being associated with JKR to make Harry Potter sets.
What is wrong with JKR? All she did is describe an adult female human being as a woman. I fail to see what is offensive about stating a fact.
I am really interested in concept art of things that never saw the light of day with LEGO. Hadn't seen the Malfoy Manor concept art so that was pretty cool!
When the Steamboat Willie set released in 2019, there was a misprint for the LEGO Ideas number (how many LEGO ideas sets there were).
There was also a cancelled Lego Studios set from the 2002 Spider-Man movie called the "Wrestling Scene."

Temple of Doom being canned is weird, since they made a version of it in 2008.
This Indiana Jones 'relaunch' is such a disappointment. Only 3 sets, all of them reimaginings of ones from the initial line.
I hope all these UA-camrs are wrong about the Temple of Doom set and it's just delayed or being remade

I'm starting to believe Lucasfilm may have changed their mind last minute and wanted all products with that scene or certain characters depicted gone
the new lego indy sets are some of the most well made sets I've ever seen, everyone who has talked about the cancelled one has pointed out that it does look a flimsy, that could be another possible reason for the cancel.
Temple is tame. Indiana shoots two dudes in the face in the first film on screen, that’s way more terrifying than any of the magic in Temple of Doom 😂

I’m still angry about the cancellation of the Temple of Doom set. I missed out on the original and was hoping to pick this one up. With the success of the relaunch sets that did get released, I hope they change their mind on this one later.
They probably will, I think. Temple of Doom is violent, but Lego has done other violent scenes (not just ones like Infinity War or Order 66 or Mustafar). You can now recreate Satipo's impalement on spikes in Raiders or the pilot's death in Last Crusade, for instance. It could also have been delayed, like the Wolverine mech. Time will tell.
that Temple of Doom would look great with the other Indiana Jones sets.

I think Lego really underestimates North American's tolerance for violence. Once I saw an 8 year old watching Temple of Doom in the waiting of my workplace. He told me how much he liked it, so I asked him if he thought it was gross (the heart ripping scene had just played). He gave me an odd look and said 'but kids like gross stuff!'.
Also, I think it's pretty hypocritical of Lego to take issue with Blizzard but are happy to keep making money for JKR.

lol, you dont know about the 2017 las vegas shooting? Some guy opened fire on a crowd from a hotel room window, killing 60 people and wounding 400+ people.

I think the reason why Lego probably canceled the crooks hideout is probably depicted a bomb factory, which has criminals set up bombs, yeah it isn't up to there standard.
The Santa promotion that got cancelled looked amazing! It's too bad that they canceled it just because it had a naughty list. Santa has always had a naughty and nice list.
It's crazy how all these snowflakes are trying to do away with the idea of right and wrong, and naughty and nice. They're trying to create this weird, gray, amoral system, and because of that we lost a great set.
However, I'm not surprised (and very glad) they pulled the set with the Communist flag. For most people living in and outside of China, that flag represent human oppression, human rights atrocities, communism, and evil.
They didn’t cancel the Santa set because of the naughty list, they cancelled it because they failed to think through the choice of putting real, common names on the list which could worry kids with those names.
I wish we got actual LEGO Phineas & Ferb sets, my favorite show combined with my favorite toy would’ve been a dream come true.

I've used it several times before for a couple of school and side projects. It was so much easier to work with than wordpress and many other more typical website builders

I find it a shame that the Osprey got cancelled they could have literally pulled the Bell Boeing license and sold it as there was a Lego City set from 2013 I believe that was literally a cargo Osprey so I didn't see a problem with that. Also, the gearbox cracking wouldn't have been an issue I reckon, the land rover defender and Mercedes Benz Zetros had similar problems. Anyway, ig we got the Airbus helicopter instead which is and ok alternative but I would've preferred the Osprey.
It's a shame that these no-life saddos ruin everything. Also it's funny because Airbus literally has shares in Eurofighter lol

I never developed homicidal tendencies from just playing with a toy that gets labeled too violent now. It's nonsense. No correlation in my honest opinion.

Canceling a set for the "oh its to violent" saying is BS! Because star wars is not violent at all(sarcasm). Probably one person that didnt see the movie didnt like that it was about a cult and thus canceled it. If this is the case, half of lego sets should all be canceled. Lego likes to be hypocrites just like all other companies.
I did a whole report about the Activison Blizzard situation, it was very brutal and a lot worse than a lot of places let on. Terrible for those women
