Hi, just purchased my first pair of doc martens online and really struggling with sizing. Unfortunately I can’t go in store so trying to work it out on my own. I have to wear insoles for flat feet and I also have very high instep so I find the bridge bit over the toe at the bottom of the laces is often tight. I’m normally a size 5 but when I tried them my feet barely fit and it was incredibly tight on my instep. I’ve also got 6 which seem to fit really well expect my heel is too small so is lifting up when I walk. I was going to try Heel Grips to try and take up some of the excessive space. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
UK9/43 is my size for sneakers and basic shoes. My Doc Martens size is UK8 for made in Asia models and UK9 for made in England models. Have to use an extra insole for MIE to fit better, so half sizes would be nice to have. 😀
Thanks for sharing.. I hope one day Dr martens get half sizes.
@@Fodaydontplay Np, thanks for the effort. Your videos are helpful for a lot of us, greetings from Finland. :) 🇫🇮
@@r0dez485 I’m happy I can help
So it means that your actual size is still big for you right? If yes tell me for how much? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I have the same option as well I’m a 43 EUR or 9,5US and I need to get dóceis 42 or they’ll be big. They need to break in and blisters and hurt feet will happen for while unfortunately
Okay so I've measured my feet, its 26 cm basically 10.2 inches which is the same size in a US 7 men. So my question is, should I consider sizing down or not?
Okay.. if you have wide feet than go a size up.. size 7 will be snug so you’ll need to really break them up so they can feel comfortable fast
do you prefer a snug fit or a roomy fit? specifically in the adrians @@Fodaydontplay
Hello there. The length of my foot is 9 inches or 23.8 long . Do i need to add half inch or 1 cm? It's a little bit wide but most of my shoes are US 7 and my lowest is US6. I'm planning to buy doc martns boots online.
mine is also 9 inches, I'm wondering the same. Whether to buy in US7 or US8
@@ushiosbby1805 Although some experts suggested to me that if the width of my feet is so wide, I should consider sizing up just 1 cm. But my sister adviced me to order US 6 instead of US7. She bought US7 dr martens 1460 from zalora and it runs big for her.Although she will not return it. We have the same foot size too.
Considering your foot length of 9 inches and that you have slightly wide feet, you might fit well into a UK size 5 (US Men's 6 / US Women's 7) in Dr. Martens, based on your usual shoe size range of US 7 to 6. Dr. Martens tend to be roomy, which is good for wider feet, so you might not need to size up. However, consider styles in wider fits if available. Always check the return policy when buying online, in case the size isn’t perfect. Customer reviews on the specific model can also provide helpful insights on fit.
@@Fodaydontplay Oh thanks for the reply.😊
My foot is 10.25, in Shell tops I wear 11. My docs are old, like 15yrs old, but I think they were 9. The doc sizing chart says size 7 based on my foot size.
Confusing as hell
I am confused too.. i made this video comparing my dr martens size to other common shoes. i hope this helps:

Hi first of all thanks for the video. I wear Salomon SpeedCross EUR 39 1/3(24.5 cm) and Converse Chuck 70 in 38.5. Should I buy size 38 or 39 (for women)? I have slightly wide feet btw.
Get the 39 since you have wide feet
@@Fodaydontplay thank you🌸
hello, I usually wear 6uk (25cm) in my local boots and there is still a little room left in them.. I estimate my foot size is 24 - 24.5 cm.. is the size 5uk (24cm) in docmart recommended by you?
Based on your foot size and usual boot fit, going for a UK size 5 in Docs could be a smart choice for a snugger fit, considering their leather stretches over time. Just remember to think about how they fit and if you'll wear thick socks. Trying them on first or checking the return policy is always a good idea to ensure they're just right for you.
hi, what about with caterpillar in comparison, is it the same fit do you think?
I can't try doc in my city unfortunatly.
Thanks
I don’t understand what you mean by the caterpillar
is it the samee shoe size?

Hi, I’m usually a US 10.5 and have wide feet, should I go for US 11s then? Thanks!
Most likely 11 should be fine
bout to buy my first docs (1461) but have no idea on the sizing. used to buy 10.5 us shoes (nike, vans) . should i buy 10uk or 9uk on docs?
Great! Check this video out
ua-cam.com/video/Gt3zn2ytOA4/v-deo.html
In the video I compare dr marten size to popular shoes
Hey, I'm a 7.5 in Nikes. An 8.5 in Yeezy 350s. An 8 in vans and Yeezy 700s. Do you think a doc marten 8 is best? A converse 8 look like clown shoes on me
I think vans are true to size. I think a 7 might be good for you. Is it possibly for you to go to a store and try out a pair of docs?
I normally wear size 10.5 US for almost all shoes should i try size 11or 10 for the 1461 martins?
Do you have wide feet? If not go with 10.
@@Fodaydontplay thank you very much and I got medium feet 🦶
@chris-ze5eg did you get the shoes? Did they fit right?
@@Claver90366 I have yet to get them but if you get them lmk as well.
Please help. I'm 8.5 US size in all Vans Of The Wall.
Someone here wear Vans in that same size and can tell me what size usually fit you in Dr Martens for do a secure online purchase?
Thanks!
I wear a size 9 in vans and dr martens. I’ll say measure you feet and compare it to the online dr martens size chart..

Hey i just ordered the 1461 bex in US 10 (which is 11 inch) but my foot is 9.5, anyone who has the same size as me is that a normal shoe size or is it too big?
I’m planning to buy a 6 or 8 eyelet dr. Martens boots online and i need your advice about the shoe size. FYI, we don’t have any dr. Martens outlets nearby for me to try out some of the boots. My foot length is 10 inches and 4 inches wide. I’ve scrolled through the size guide but there are no matching sizes to my foot. Please help me anyone 😅
Im usually size 9 (M) on Nike air forces which they fit perfect should I get size 9 or 8 for 1451 docs?
plus there’s no store nearby that sells dr martens so rip lol
If they fit you should go with a 9. I believe the Nike Air Force 1 are true to size.Hopefully you do not have wide feet. Doc stretch so one e you break into them you’ll be fine.
Hi KAMARA am Considering getting a pair of made in England 1461 in black, im normally a size 8 uk. I heard they run a little bit big and a little narrow. Would you say I need a size 7?. How did you find your made in England's shoes. Thanks
If possible try them on.. mine were fine.. I didn’t feel like they were narrow.. I think a 7 might fit you
Thanks mate
Help my 1st pair is a 7.. in a different pair I have a foot measure at home at went with a size 7, too smaller ordered 8, too small now I have a 9 a bit big. I currently have the 8 and 9 and dk what to do
hey need your help please, me just bought 1460 made in england size uk 7, my normal size at sneakers is uk 8. i bought 1460 MIE size 7 because my other docmart ( CRAZY HORSE made in Asia ) also size uk 7 and its comfort me since the first day. but not for the made in england, my toe is touching the leather, will it stretch ? or better i change my size ? but am afraid its goin to long or big. iam so confuse :(
Oo wow.. It is not really going to stretch that much for the length. What you can do is but newspaper inside when your docs are not on your feet. It should keep the shape.. also I do not know if you already put some heat on the boots.. the heat will make the leather softer and will shape into feet
Usually 11.5US but I've had different experiences with Docs:
Black/leather and corduroy 1461s: 11US / 45.
Keith Haring 1461s: 12US / 46
Tarik low: 10US / 44
Try if you can, wish they made half sizes 😭
Yeah try them first if possible.. dr martens can be confusing
Question! My feet measure 11” but I fit a size 9.5 or 10US for most shoes what size dr martens 1460 should I purchase?
I think maybe a 10.. i fit a 9 and 9.5us and I got a size 9 1460.
@@Fodaydontplay for your size 9s is the toe box tight at first and did it expand? If so how long does it take ?
I’m in between thinking about purchasing my first docs. I tried on and liked the size 5 but the tongue part of the shoe hurts so bad and if I sized up they feel big
This is tricky.. you can try thin socks or not to tie the shoes too tight
I'm having the same issue right now , what did you do
hello, my feet is really wide and tall I usually go for a 46,5 in my shoes. Should I buy a size 47. Thanks for the help ,great video
Hello! I’ll say a 47 should work for you.. do you know which docs you want? Some are a little narrow
@@Fodaydontplay I was looking for some second handed 1460 in normal leather and I only use 46.5 in narrow shoe so maybe 46 is better. I followed your tips and compared to some of my friend and they always say that docs usually ran big. My dimension are 28.6 cm in length and 10.3 in width
Hi bro, i love your vids.! If my usual size is 8.5us and my feet is 26.7 cm. Should i go with 8us?
Do you have wide feet? Is it possible to try on some dr martens
Hi, im 7.5us on nike dunks high, so should i go for 7.5us on the ruler it's exact 25cm what size should i got for doctor martens? Thanks in advance 🙏
Probably a 7 or 8 depending on how wide your feet are
Im tryna cop my first docs the vegan 1460 Ben mono boots I’m a size 7 in Nikes, Jordan’s, and size 7 a half in vans should I just get a a size 7 or a size 8 I just don’t want them to be big asf on me yk ?
Okay.. I was thinking a 7 for you. The 8 will be big. The 7 will fit better. Might be tight at first but will free up over time
@@Fodaydontplay okay thank you boss
im a size 5 nd i wanted to order doc Martens but they only have it in size 4 within my budget I was thinking abt sizing down but I'm worried that they'll js be to tight . should i try sizing down or not ? especially bcs google said they run big i js need another opinion .
Well I am guessing you are not able to go to store that sells dr martens to try them. If you do not have wide feet then you’ll be able to fit a 4. Just know that there is a chance that it might be snug on your feet. After a while or once you break into them then they’ll free up and be more comfortable.
So I bought mine online not knowing they were in uk size so now I’m stuck with a size 12 shoe when I’m 11or 10.5 they somehow fit nice they just look huge should I return? I’m scared to size down and they won’t fit when these do fit they just look big
I made a new video today were I went to the dr martens store and the employee talked about how it should fit… use that as a guid
hy, i'm italian and i have a question for you! my feets are 26,7 cm and usually my size is 8 UK/42 ITA (vans, converse, nike 8/5) Last year i got a dc martens but the model 1460 size 8 was too big for me, so i got a model 101 size 8 and it was a perfect! How is it possible? What do you suggest to me if i want to get a 1460 crazy horse?
Oo wow that a crazy story.. is it possible for you to try them at a store? I’ve never tested the 101. Is the 1460 that you bought still too big?
@@FodaydontplayNow i can’t. I don’t live near a shop where i can try, but last year i try a lot of dc martens and i think that the Size can change if The shoes have made in vietnam or repubblica of Lao ecc. it’s so strange
@@Fodaydontplay and yes 1460 was to big becouse there isn’t the middle size but i don’t Know maybe i’ll get them on dc martens shop on line… sorry for my bad english. Thanks! your channel is very usefull
@@antoniodidio3707 I am happy that i could help.
I’m usually a 8US in sneakers (7UK) and I realized that for 1460 boots going half a size down to 7.5US-6.5UK is perfect(there are 2 middle sizes in docs 6.5UK and 9.5Uk). However I did the same for a 1461 gaucho and I feel that it could be a little bit tighter and I have some heel slippage in my right foot and I’m going to a store to try the 6UK on
I'm an 8 to 8.5 US and medium width
I'm getting the women's size 8US
hello! okay that should fit you.. which Docs are you getting?
@@Fodaydontplay I got the 1460 Women's Pascal Virginia Leather Boots

I bought some size 41 docs (European size) and I'm a size 41, but I started wearing them and they squeeze me a little in the front
Is it normal, then they will widen, should I do something?
That’s not normal.. they are probably narrow… how tight is it? They should slowly fit you more as you break into them.
That’s not normal.. they are probably narrow… how tight is it? They should slowly fit you more as you break into them.
I'm a 27.5cm which is 9.5US on common shoes. Should I get an 8UK which is 9US?
Which Dr Martens are you going to get? For most of them ill say get a size 9 if you do not have wide feet.
i wear a size 9.5 in Chuck 70 Vintage Canvas, would a 9 or 10 be best in 1461 docs?
Most likely a 10..if possible try to try them on in a store
I wear all my sneakers size US11.. and i got 11 for the docs before realizing i should have tried 10 too.. now i feel like my foot have a little space in the heels and it wiggles. Is that okay? Or 10 was better for me? Please help
Is it comfortable when you wear them? The best way to find out is to try them on at a store that sells dr martens. The 10 might be tight at first because you have to break into them.
@@Fodaydontplay yes its comfortable but i dont know if getting a smaller one and break into them would be more comfortable. if there is little space and wiggling, will the shoes still be more comfortable and break into them with time and not get a little bigger?
@@GroovyKid94 my concern with getting a 10 is your feet will be a little too big for it and your toes will be cramped in them. This will make the breaking into them very hard. On the other hand, the leather of docs will stretch as you break into them which makes them comfortable afterwards. I think the 10 will fit you if you do not have wide feet.
@@Fodaydontplay but is the 11 still good and would be more comfortable and break into them as well?
@@GroovyKid94 if you get the 11 you will have the same experience you had with the other dr martens you bought. The 10 might be small at first and they might hurt if you wear them too long but eventually you will break into them.
Martens have different fits . Rascal is runs smaller , Jason - larger , dr Martens have no any model which is true to size .
I’m usually a 7.5 but my adidas are an 8 bc 7.5 its to tight, should i get a 7 or 8?🥺🥺🥺
Do you have wide feet?
I think you should go for 8. 7 might be too tight
@@liquidfluid6935 okay that’s fine
Yo am 9.5 men but the shoes i want are in women should I get size 11 women
well. It depends on what type of Docs you want to get. The leather Docs then they will stretch when breaking into them. I am not 100% sure on the conversion from men's to women's but from my research, it seems right.
If u purchase dr marten from uk they have half sizes.
Is this in the store? the website has some but not all
Not on website in all models
I ❤ your voice. 🥰
Thank you very much
i wear 8,5 on vans and they fit perfect. should i get 7 or 8 on uk size? (1461 docs)
It’s hard to say.. if you can try on a 8 to be safe.. 7 might be very tight. Also other things to consider is if you have wide feet
Hi! I have the same doubt in this moment. Finally what size did you buy?
I use 8 1/2 for vans should I go for 8
It depends if you have wide feet.. if not the 8 will fit snug on your feet but eventually you’ll break into them and they get more comfortable
most of my sneakers are size UK7 for many brands and models. for dr martens, should i get UK6 or UK7 for 1460/1461?
I am guessing you have any dr martens store next to you.. I’ll say size 7 is safe and you know it’s going to fit. Size 6 might be more snug. Depending on the leather it might take some time to break into which might hurt even more. Also, if you have if you have wide feet definitely get a 7.
@@Fodaydontplay i do have the archie II in size UK6. they fit snug and there is no wiggle room. length wise is ok, but the width, they cramp my feet. but i never had the chance to try the uk7. so im not sure whether to stick to uk6 or uk7.
@@ahmadafiq670 it’s up to you.. can you deal with your feet being cramped when you’re breaking in your docs?
