    I can totally see the intro of this video as the opening scene of an anime, that would take a few seasons to explain what the character was doing inside the locker.

    Very cool intro, you're really stepping up your game! Also I love the location. I once went to Italy and the place where we stayed had so many small streets and had such a complex layout that I felt like an explorer back then :)

    Thanks for taking us with you an that nice trip! Cool location with all these maze-like-combined narrow passages, reminds me of the chatuchak-market i visited in bangkok some time ago. Great chance to get authentic shots of locals doing their stuff, but the narrow passages forces you very close to the subjetcs. I liked the funny intro :-) And how the hell can a guy from polska speak not only perfect english but also so good japanese...

    Really loved this video!
    I wanted to ask: did you encounter any upset/angry people because you were taking photos? If so, how did you handle the situation?
    I want to do street photography in my small-populated city, but I always fear the dreaded "why are you taking photos of me?" situation, when I'm trying to shoot something else completely lol.

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  Рік тому

    Amazing content. Just wondering what flash did you use on your Ricoh GRIII few months back on the Ricoh photography UA-cam channel? It was a night street photography video with flash. I’m in the market to find a flash for my GRiii and yours caught my eye. Thanks!

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you!! I'll have to dig it out of the closet, but it's an old one from Ricoh. I would actually not recommend as it's manual only and it's easier to use a new one with TTL. :)

    I’ve found a lot of mirrorless cameras with evf have that weird exposure thing, that’s why if I shoot my Fuji Xpro3 I’ll use the ovf function, or my Nikon d850.

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  3 роки тому +1

      Actually, after this video I learned the reason for this. It has nothing to do with the EVF and purely to do with the focus mode in conjunction with matrix metering. The solution I found is to use center-weighted average metering, not matrix. :)

    Just curious, how did you end up living in Japan - and how did you learn the language - just by being emerged in it for a span of time or something more formal?

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  3 роки тому +12

      Oh man that is a looooooong story. I'll make a video about it haha. :)

  • @abelardojeda
    @abelardojeda 3 роки тому

    The problem is the metering mode. Great video btw!

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! But I disagree that it's the metering mode. I use the same metering mode on my D4 and have zero issues. Also, I totally get that the meter may not meter 'correctly' but what I do care about is that it meters CONSISTENTLY, meaning if I point it at the same scene I get the same result. And this is just not the case.

  • @kopciej2001
    @kopciej2001 3 роки тому +1

    Evaluative Metering in your shots means Matrix Metering in Nikon terminology?

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  3 роки тому

      That's right. Even though I'm shooting with Nikon I feel like the standard terminology is 'evaluative' but honestly all the makers call it something different.

  • @Edwin1947D
    @Edwin1947D 3 роки тому

    Why not just adjust exposure in manual mode? - the evf lets you see exactly the exposure you will get before you trip the shutter.

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  3 роки тому

      Of course this is an option, and I mention it in the video. But two things about it: 1) sometimes there is no time and expect the camera to meter consistently so I can depend on it, and 2) the EVF does not, in my opinion, accurately show you what you get. The final photos do not look exactly as what the EVF shows. I much prefer what I had on my old D4: consistent and accurate metering so even thought I didn't have an EVF, I could be confident in the metering.
      And for the record, the Z6II does well in most cases, but in struggles in these extreme contrast situations like the ones in the video.
