Debo, I seriously have to thank you...watching your videos the past few weeks has convinced me to throw a jig a lot, and specifically a black and blue jig, when in the past I tended to stay away from jigs. And it has been my most consistent producer this spring. Caught my biggest of the year tonight on it.
Dude, tactical bassin just did an underwater video showing fish grabbing just the tip of the trailers and even the weed guard. It was interesting to see how they reacted to it.
Yes, I wondered if painted hooks would work better than shiny unpainted hooks since the fish avoided those so well. I would bet Debo’s fish were carrying the jig by everything but the hook.
Debo, I have a terrible memory but I think the rule is...if the lure drifts to the left, tweak the line tie to the left. If the lure blah, blah, blah. Really appreciate that you don't edit out the lost lures and snapped rods. A % of my tackle is in the local lake. I watch a few different channels but I have learned more from 2 channels (DEBO'S Fishing and TacticalBassin) than my brain can absorb. Tyvm for all the work you put into these vids! 👍🍺🎣

Good fishing video. First time seeing a fishing pole break for me is my dad, he had just finished putting line through the eyes & he was checking drag on the spinning real when suddenly the pole broke. I laughed for an hour.

Told you so; that is why I set my drag properly because I am dumber than most anglers are. Sensitive rods are strong but they break quick when you set the hook into a stump you thought was a fish with a tight drag. Reach for VMC's Inline Single Hook the next time you want to anchor the big monsters. This super-strong forged hook provides an extra-wide gap to ensure solid hooksets. Recommended for treble replacement on lures. Get them at your local tackle supply and reduce losing lures and big fish too. That comes straight from Bass Pro and Cabela’s written recommendations and mine too. You spend all that time making a beautiful lure and leave it stuck in bush is terrible. I know what that feels like just like you do. When you use blanks for making and painting your own lures some might be duds however, you can try bending the eyelet one way or the other to get them to run true. That is why I mentioned testing ones before giving them away first. I saw a buddy ruin his reel pulling on heavy braid trying pulling it free, it bent the reel spool. Then I saw the same guy pulling on braid by wrapping it around his arm. This time; the lure came flying back at the speed sound and hit him in his private parts. It curled him up into a fetal position and I couldn’t help laughing and learned fishing braid can be dangerous. You know what it is like breaking a fly rod that cost $500 dollars, I do. It is hard to hold the tears back, that’s what. Fast action rods means they break real fast.
Hookset into the tree was fine....pulling the rod over so the tip touches the handle....that's when things went south🤣 Yeah, i need to try bending them. All three I tested sucked...☹

Man, I could take an entire day of fish that size... It's just fun! Hooking into a giant is great, but man when you can catch a dozen or better 1-2 lb bass in a day!! That's a good time!! Great video!! I think I need to get my boots back on and throw a couple rods in the truck! I've been skunked my last 3 trips, and it's kinda gotten me down.

Debo, Thanks for keeping us entertained and informed. I think it is rain day #3 here. We have had 2 days of snow over the past month. The fishing has been terrible this spring. I mainly fish rivers and they are rageing fast. I have hit a smaller river for trout and small mouth bass and caught nothing. So thank you for showing how it is done. Can you do a video on eyewear, your favs, what color lens per weather conditions Etc.

Is that the yo-zuri hybrid line on both setups? How do you like it? I have been loving how the p-line floroclear i got is soft as hell and casts amazingly, but it seems to have weird issues breaking in random spots. This weekend I am hoping to get my first JEEG FEESH of the year!

Man Debo, when it comes to fishing you are my "bank angling Hero". I have been out 7x this year and not even a bite. Living in the NE doesn't help with the cold temps. But, I mean, you go out and the fish are just waiting for you. Help us poor guys and gals out. Do you ever get skunked? How long of a period of fishing is represented by these 16 min. videos? You must have some A+ bank fishing areas in your neck of the woods. Thus far the best score I can give for my area is a big, fat ... "F". Or, maybe me as the angler deserves an F. Anyway you are one of the few go to bank anglers I like to watch. Keep it going. You put fishing fuel in my tank when I feel on empty !

I got a bunch of them Berkeley pit bull squarebills they're pretty awesome the lipless looks pretty great too don't have any of them tho. I love to paint job Berkeley put on them.
Looked like a good day of fishing other than the snapped rod! What is the trailer you were using on the jig? I use either a rage chunk or or rage grub on the finesse jig and a skinny dipper on a swim jig.
30 years of fishing with Rods under 550.00 and I've never broke a rod. I have damaged/bent some rod eye rings over the years but I do believe more expensive rods don't always mean more durable. I think expensive means lighter, which makes me think some are weaker.

Bummer about the rod. I've been debating on picking up those David fritz rods myself. The oldschool feel is great and I like the actions on them. As for the blanks rolling out... did you try to tune them? Probably a dumb question but never know. Sometimes when I'm frustrated I forget to check the easy stuff. Thanks for the videbo as they say!
I like the rod, ordered a new one when I got home! I didn't have a chance to try bending the eyelet. I was just disappointed all three that I tied did it...🤦♂️ I'll take them out and see if they tune!
@@DEBOSFishing well if you replaced it immediately must be worth trying out. Guess I'll have to put it on the wish list. Lots of the blanks run terrible before tuning them. Hopefully it just needs a little love.
Try tuning your line tie on your blanks. It takes a little time but you can get them to track straight. Do it all the time trolling for walleye. Great video as always keep it up

My crank bait setup isn't quite as sophisticated as yours, but it does work well enough: Abu Garcia black maxx paired with a medium fast Browning Sila Flex. The parabolic bend sets the hook for you most of the time
Nice man . Sucks to break a rod like that but i have been to that point where I am ready to just throw everything overboard lol. I am hoping the red colored crank bite gets better around here. I onvested in a ton of red baits to the notion that its the juice in spring. I have thrown it with 0 luck but our water temps are still in the 40s . I am fishing bed rigs and jerkbaits almost like that late winter early early spring time still. We have waemer weather that has got here but days and days of rain it shows . Cant win I swear . Maybe when the water temps get a bit higher and the craws get more active that bite will pick will pick up . Hope all is well man.
@@DEBOSFishing Yea no one wants to spend good money on something then have to alter it. I've done hooks on $30 plus swim baits to tune them to sink instead of basically be wake baits but having to mess with the line ties is pushing the limits. Might be the way the manufacturer is packaging them too.
Don't underestimate yourself. We like watching because you are fishing like the rest of us without a 30k bass boat.

No, that is p-line tactical Fluorocarbon. I like it a lot so far. No man, I stopped using fluoroclear. I had a bunch of breaking issues too.

Yeah, a broken rod always stinks! I was using the lews custom speed stick, curado k reel, and 15lb fluorocarbon.
30 years of fishing with Rods under 550.00 and I've never broke a rod. I have damaged/bent some rod eye rings over the years but I do believe more expensive rods don't always mean more durable. I think expensive means lighter, which makes me think some are weaker.

Bummer about the rod. I've been debating on picking up those David fritz rods myself. The oldschool feel is great and I like the actions on them. As for the blanks rolling out... did you try to tune them? Probably a dumb question but never know. Sometimes when I'm frustrated I forget to check the easy stuff. Thanks for the videbo as they say!
I like the rod, ordered a new one when I got home! I didn't have a chance to try bending the eyelet. I was just disappointed all three that I tied did it...🤦♂️ I'll take them out and see if they tune!
@@DEBOSFishing well if you replaced it immediately must be worth trying out. Guess I'll have to put it on the wish list. Lots of the blanks run terrible before tuning them. Hopefully it just needs a little love.

Try tuning your line tie on your blanks. It takes a little time but you can get them to track straight. Do it all the time trolling for walleye. Great video as always keep it up

My crank bait setup isn't quite as sophisticated as yours, but it does work well enough: Abu Garcia black maxx paired with a medium fast Browning Sila Flex. The parabolic bend sets the hook for you most of the time

Nice man . Sucks to break a rod like that but i have been to that point where I am ready to just throw everything overboard lol. I am hoping the red colored crank bite gets better around here. I onvested in a ton of red baits to the notion that its the juice in spring. I have thrown it with 0 luck but our water temps are still in the 40s . I am fishing bed rigs and jerkbaits almost like that late winter early early spring time still. We have waemer weather that has got here but days and days of rain it shows . Cant win I swear . Maybe when the water temps get a bit higher and the craws get more active that bite will pick will pick up . Hope all is well man.

If theyre swimming to the right take a pair of pliers and bend the line tie a bit to the other direction until it swims straight.

@@DEBOSFishing Yea no one wants to spend good money on something then have to alter it. I've done hooks on $30 plus swim baits to tune them to sink instead of basically be wake baits but having to mess with the line ties is pushing the limits. Might be the way the manufacturer is packaging them too.
