I love WenZhou's balance as parents. Lao Wen is a strict dad to his daughter while gentle to his son while A-xu is strict to his son and gentle to his daughter. A-xu is in charge of disciplining the son and being affectionate to the daughter while Lao Wen is in charge of disciplining the daughter and being affectionate to the son.
In the end of the day, they both love A-xiang and Chengling and they would do anything to be there for them.
Classic parents - will be sweetest people alive to other kids but the second they're alone will scold their own chindren 😭

The children bring out the best (and the worst?) in their parents while the parents complement each other (and fight each other) in so many ways. Their bickering is fun to watch and at the same time their courage to face the world together shows how much they appreciate (love?) each other. I wish this series could be longer than it is.
Uncle Ye Bai Yi is really wholesome. He might somewhat came out rude to people but its his nature to speak frankly without sugar coating his words. An eye opener of reality hshshs

I love all of these scenes. It’s incredible how Lao Wen can be so nurturing, loving, careful with them all and in the next scene back at the valley stroking his fan and killing people with one hand to the throat with the same intensity. That was scary to me.
It’s very cute seeing how each child takes after the other parent. Chengling taking after WKX’s literary prowess and cunning, A‘Xiang taking on ZZS stubbornness and strength.
It's funny that way, since A Xiang is WKX raise till she grew up and Chen Ling was found/adopted by ZZS

If we were to put it simply, WKX buys the window paper-cuts because he was reminded of the only beauty that has been existed long time ago in his sight which is the one and only, ZZS.
If you still don't get it, then I'll translate the long phrase into a short one that ZZS said:

Word of Honor did such a beautiful job: Wen Kexing's poetry/ giving his hair pin (as an symbol of affection/ like an engagement ring), ZZhou wholeheartedly trusting that Wen Kexing will find him. WenZhou are shown as a more loveable wholesome couple (with each other and with others around them) than WWX/LZ. It is what it is
@@shallydoul its just their dynamic together is so wonderful to watch where lan zhan is supper introvert even after he had the 2nd chance to be with weiying he's still too restrain and rigid. With wenzhou, they remind one another since they are on the same path there will be no secrets and no hiding anything and i love that

They are more open to communicating openly and honestly and are more vulnerable with each with what they share 🥰 with a loved ones, it's very important to talk to them with an open heart! Even if the other partner understands some of what you're doing without you saying it they are not a mind reader! We see that with Wangxian. Sometimes WWK understands some of what Lan Zhan thinks and his gestures/expressions, but WWK still gets confused and is not a mind reader. To be in a mature relationship, Wanxian need to communicate lol
