- This Adobe Dimension tutorial will demonstrate how to create and edit customisable shapes to create an abstract 3D design featuring a product.
The recent Adobe Dimension update introduces new customiseable shapes that can be used to create a variety of interesting and intricate shapes. Materials that are applied to these customiseable shapes also scale and wrap realistically, with settings that can be customised from the Property Inpsector.

Do you know if the lights render too? I have element3d for after effects. Also does it render as each object? Like if I download objects each part can be removed or changed etc.

@danksy How did you create the plane with the hole intersection, in PS? is Dimension not capable of this?
Unlike blender you can’t really cut/subdivide 3d shapes in dimension, so you’ll have to either model them from scratch on PS or download and import a new model from the web.
I recommend ditching dimensions all together and switching to blender or C4D if you really want to get into 3D modeling.

Thanks for this great tutorial .Please do a tutorial on how to create curve gable boxes in dimension .I am really having hard time with where shapes needs to be curved .
Dimension won't provide that level of detail for editing 3D models. You would need a 3D program like Blender. Dimension is more for setting up 3D assets and staging them with lights, materials and imported-logos

I think so, just deselect the ‘Background’ checkbox from the property inspector on the right-hand side in design mode 👍

Hey Savannah, try increasing the render quality to 'High' and increased the pixel dimensions of the canvas :)
i dont have option to change cylinder shape
It’s the few basic shapes at the top of the list that are customisable. Check that you’re using the latest version of Dimension, and once the shape is placed in the scene, these options should appear in the Property Inspector on the right side, down towards the bottom.
How can I create a triangle in Dimension?
Could always make in Illustrator and import into Dimensions.
