It's wonderful that the Castle has headroom for adults. They can comfortably take their children and explore the structure. Looks fantastic.

I loved the camaraderie with all the volunteers, the kids, Mike and his crew. What a fantastic job done because someone was so stupid. I sure hope that person was among the volunteers to help make it right.

Great Job! That should last for many years and give the kids many good memories. The park next to my house had an old fire truck in it for the kids to play on, I remember it 60 years later.

FYI to people looking at the comment section. don't respond to the troll delyn13 . he's like in every video comment section of this channel spewing nonsense and trying to put Mike Holmes down for fixing bad stuff of bad contractor. I mean the person literally commented "it shouldve only taken him a couple of hours NOT DAYS to build a friggin playground for children" is already enough to tell you he has no idea what he's talking about. I read one of his comments talking about how bad and cheap Mike holmes is on a prior video, but nothing about the work of the other contractor that came in did a shoddy job and left with all the money while putting a lien on the home. Also he already admitted that he's not a contractor, so he's just trolling at this point.

    • @electronixTech

That's true. That troll account just posts nonsense to stir the pot. For all we know, it could be a bot or someone who likes being a contrarian.

Yeah building something like that would take days, if not weeks. My one highschool class helped out on the construction of one of our playgrounds in the park, it took a few weeks to build and that was with tons of people working on it. Concrete takes time to set so once poured you cant just jump right on it and start slinging lumber. Then you have to wait for deliveries, you usually want to stain/paint the wood, you cant miss any details as the structure has to be safe. Plus the more people you have working on things you more time you need to take to make sure things are safe for the workers so that people are not smashing into each other.
To make a playground in hours, im betting its one of those plastic ones that you just place down and bolt a few things together. and put on a bed of gravel or mulch. (Which sadly is how many of the recent playgrounds ive seen have become, which i sorta understand, safer for kids with less maintenance and costs less)

It was so heartbreaking when I saw it engulfed in flames, I have so many memories of my two adult sons having the time of their lil lives playing there. Thank u so so so much Mike and team to bring this gem back. I know this was actually done a few years ago now but it still brings my heart joy to know that my future grandchildren will be able to play and run at the same park their parents did.

The rebuilt park has lived on. Years of enjoyment though it appears some of it is being refurbished now. But that's not surprising given the amount of time that has passed with so much use. Ironically the rebuilt park has survived longer than some of Holme's other projects. The modernistic house episode with the chain hanging down to drain water was gutted around 2023. Glad this park survived and continues to be maintained.

Why put such a short, tight deadline on such a big project??!! I understand you want to get it up quickly for the community, but only 7 days? Not realistic for the health of everyone. Should have made it 2 weeks, anyway; they've waited this long, surely one additional week wouldn't be that much of a hardship!

Little unsure about the call to make it more "adult friendly" frankly adults shouldn't be on it. Of course, there are times when mom or dad need to fetch a kid having a meltdown somewhere, but so long as it's do-able it doesn't need to be "comfortable" IMO
