Enjoyed watching your shows. Wish you could come to Minnesota to build my house. The contractors here are charging $300 a square foot! We are moving to a house built in the 40’s. We are hoping to build or redo the old small house. God bless your crew.

I think one of the best I have seen on You Tube in Australia, was when you did the renovation / fixes for the deaf person. That was great, the innovation etc for them.

I ever buy a house I want Mike Holmes and his crew to fix it
I get where Michael is coming from. I've had two bathroom contractors give me the "I don't wanna" price because I know too much. One refused to move the tub when we were already enlarging the bathroom. They said it's too much work to move the plumbing and laughed when I told them I wanted it all ripped out and redone anyway. Drains are Galv to cast iron, supply is a spaghetti factory of copper. The washer is a copper drain to cast iron that leaks from the boot if it gets plugged. So many times I end up doing it myself not because I want to but because I cannot find somebody willing to go as far as I want.
My father and I were never close. He always doing stuff with my older brother which always made me feel alone. As I grew up I learned a little everything your father is supposed to teach you on my own. I would have to hide to watch my father do things so I can learn how to do the same. I’m 41 years old now and now my father calls me up to teach him or tell him how to do something.
Still watching at 87 this anazing family create doing what is right the first time, while teaching all of us on subjects likw mold, never wood on concrete structure, plumbing, electrical, roofing...you name it and Mike and his family do what we should have know: DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME AND YOU WON;T HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN (P.S. I was #367 on this pix!)
i would love to hear about your impact on the construction industry in Canada and how your company has changed it since the beginning with the bad inspectors to the current about weeding out bad contractors

First 2 minutes sounds an awful lot like how I grew up hahaha .. I had that black belt in Nintendo and really had no interest in construction at all, definitely pulled back from it. Now ... I'm a contractor myself. 🤷😂 I do have a 3yr old daughter who as I was fixing her rocking chair last night was right in there "I can help you fix it (her toy tools in hand)."
Way back when you started on tv you've had a lot of people work for you. Have you ever thought of getting all of them together and reminiscing about the old days.

My husband hated me watching the shows. I would call him out on things ... I would ask, can't we do it this way? He ignored me. Then I would see show and tell him... SEE.

As a person who has worked in the industry, I have seen competent workers and holy crap workers!
Basically, Mike Holmes is saying know who you are hiring.
Can they do the job.
Can they prove it??
I've been under cut by scammers before. I ended up being hired to fix their mess.
The only one who loses is the homeowner. And the homeowner is not only your client but your ability to grow your business!
It only makes sense to treat the client with respect and provide them with a professional job.
Think about it ...........
Your livelihood depends on it!!
