Awesome video. I lived in that area for 27 years and will say, you had the perfect traffic conditions for making this. So many memories when I was watching your Beltway drive.
I grew up in northern Prince George’s County, so I’m only half joking when I say that I learned to drive on the Capitol Beltway-I know the Montgomery/Prince George’s sections of the Beltway _very_ well, and this day was the perfect weather conditions to take a virtual drive back into my youth! Nice video!
Always be careful driving the beltway in MD. They drive very aggressively. And when driving the belway in Virginia always use the EZ pass lanes when you can. It's very much worth it. 👍🏻
Virginia they driving aggressively as well. As far as the ez pass go it’s not all that worth specially if you don’t have an Ez pass it I know that for a fact maybe if the traffic is extremely backed up other than that no I know the beltway very well
3 massive interchanges on I-495. The I-295 and MGM National Ave. junction. The I-66 junction, and the massive and phenomenal interchange that doesn’t really surprise me a lot since I live in the DMV. The Springfield interchange.
from us29 silver spring to va state line, my favorite part. all the nice curves and the view of the mormon church right before the left curve is phenomenal, especially at night... be safe!
Wow it’s been 12+ years since I’ve been down there I delivered paint to almost every Home Depot around that beltway I don’t remember the EZ-PASS lanes when did they go in ?
I was on the Beltway last year heading to and from Williamsburg Virginia, the traffic on the Beltway through DC was ridiculous and we had to get off 95 and go through Bowling Green back onto 95 and get on 295 and head to 64, now the driving through Jersey on 95 was absolutely insane because of a major accident on 46 Eastern Spur going towards the George Washington Bridge or GWB and the traffic on 46 Western Spur was also absolutely insane because of people trying to get away from the Eastern Spur of 46 heading into NYC, even the traffic on the George Washington Bridge was just insane because of people either continuing on 95 through The Bronx or people getting off to the Henry Hudson Parkway heading to either Riverside Drive, West 178th Street, or West 165th Street to get into Washington Heights, the traffic getting on 295 from US-50 in Delaware was also very busy because of people getting away from 95 to avoid traffic
I want Mileage Mike to do some research for a possible video about why I-95 was not routed straight thru Washington, D.C.! I live in D.C. and I'm a trucker, and I'm a habitual map lover on top of all of that. When I look at the D.C. area on the map, I can't help but to wonder why I-95 was routed with the eastern portion of the I-495 loop/bypass instead of being routed straight thru D.C. from the southwest side, where it breals off, up to the northeast side where it reconnects and continues northeast. When you see it on the map, it will annoy you, I promise. Most major interstate freeways are routed straight thru the big city and normally have a loop around it, which are the bypasses, and they normally have their spurs that routes thru the city and straight into a city from differentsides and directions for whatever reasons. The only thing that I can think of as to why they did this is that they either didn't want to run it thru too much of national park land or didn't want to go thru rich people's areas. I would have thought that they didn't wanna run it past too many government buildings, but I-395 and I-695 does exactly that. So, what is the reason for it? I really hate inconsistencies in the interstate portal that goes against what's already set up in the portal. It just makes me cringe when I see these inconsistencies, lol! Hopefully, you will see this comment, and consider this if you haven't already done it. I haven't even watched this video yet. I just needed a videot hat was already about Washington D.C. to make this comment, but I'm finna watch it now!
I-95 was supposed to be routed through DC via today's I-395 and connect back out to today's I-95 / 495 interchange in Maryland. Today, the Metro Red Line alongside Blair Road traces the right-of-way for what was supposed to be I-95. Up until very recently, there would be a lot of weird signs posted around DC, especially when coming out of the I-395 Third Street tunnel. There were overhead signs reading "I-95 New York." I assume that these were installed for what was to become I-95 and stood for years leading to "ghost ramps" before being taken down. There was a whole NIMBY era of cancelled freeways along the East Coast.

Nice drive on the outer loop of the Beltway! DC's highways are always neat to drive.

Aggressive is an accurate description 😂
It's stressful driving on the beltway in MD every single time
@@bigdawggkev let alone the stress of driving on the beltway itself or the stress of just driving

Is the video slowed down? It looks like the cars are doing 30 MPH
What beltway is longer 495 or 695 including the Francis Scott Key Bridge before the accident???
On the timestamp of 2:22 of this video, what is that thing on the left side of the screen??? On the timestamp of 3:21, what is that building???

Same!
I always said md roads sound different
My favorite thing about the Capital Beltway is that you can hear MD sounds in Virginia
@@w-josh On that small segment in Alexandria yeah.
I think that might be one of the longest CD lanes I've seen in the beginning of the video
Great stuff as always!!
Thank you
Well done. Like coming home. So proud to see our region featured. Could Baltimore's Inner Harbor be next?
Got some Baltimore videos on the way in the coming weeks, stay tuned!
