  • This Lighting breakdown looks at some of the early editorial shoots of Hugo Comte, with a focus on how you could replicate a similar style in the studio. This is a starting point, with a breakdown on some key features to look for, its not a direct replica though!
    We look at how to expose for the skin, adding cool silver highlights, Slide film vs Digital, Background lighting, and how to work with Parabolic Lights, Modifiers and Strobe vs Constant Lighting.

    Fantastic explanation! but @2:40 it's not a hot light, it's profoto pro head with a hard box and red gel on it

      @@jppj4067 oh thanks for that! I thought it was Profoto Daylight into HardBox as the light was strong in the video. So you feel it’s Pro but just with modelling light also? Appreciated 🤝

      @@easystudiolighting hmmh yeah I think it's a pro head flash since the cord is coming from the back of the head and not the bottom where it's located on the Profoto Daylight... plus you have to insert the head perpendicular to the hardbox as on the video... from what I heard he mostly use flash, but I've never worked with him, I'll ask his former assistant (the one in the video) if I come across him by any chance and let you know!! ahah :) Thanks a lot for you work!! :)

      @@easystudiolighting for lights :) I would like to reproduce this effect outside (not in a studio), and I have a godox V1 (flash cobra) that I can put wherever I want. If I put it on the same place as the softbox on your video, and I make it softer, do you think it could have the same results ?

    • @easystudiolighting
      @easystudiolighting  Місяць тому

      @@donerjad if you have a couple of those Godox and use the strong sun as a clip/rim light you could definitely get close feel to this. But Hugo has loads of outdoor shoots you can also reference if that helps
