Closest Cutty Sark ever got to being the fastest tea clipper was being beaten by Thermopylae by a whole week. Cutty Sark was built to try and beat Thermopylae and failed miserably.

Me too, all the way from France, on a school trip. I just had a scale model kit of it as a present for Father's day. So excited to build it!

Seen it. She is much smaller than one would initially think her to be, but very beautiful. Better go and see her before a certain group of religious fanatics find a way to burn her down.

But the Preußen isn’t the first ship of the famous Flying P-liners from Hamburg. The first was built like around 1850, nineteen years before Cutty Sark. There were 83 Flying P liber.
