Just sat and watched the full thing from start to finish. Incredible work guys. You make it look so easy, but literally hundreds of hours of practise have went into perfecting all of these tricks. Even the simplest grenade jumps require work to get right.

Huh, I learned that little trick where you turn the warthog before going off the jump just from a cliff in the level "Halo" messing around when I was a kid. Always neat to see that stuff be put to good use.
I've been following it since HighImpactHalo did speed runs back in the early days and a segmented run is not evolution, it's actually a step backwards. It's just a lazy speed run.

thebluemanful i literally watched these people work on this project for 7 months, dont talk about being lazy. these people devoted their time to grinding segments hundreds if not thousands of times to make it perfect, and editing them all together is a feat of its own.
@@wolfetteplays8894 By standing in a specific spot and doing the right inputs in the first bridge, you can manipulate the AI to ram into wall in a certain way which ejects the elite out of the banshee, the same you get ejected out of vehicles when they get flipped. Also, hijacking was not existent in Halo CE, which makes this trick even more insane.
10:07, may be nit-picking, but for the detail-oriented among us, what causes Light Bridge Skip is being in combat when you go to interact with the panel. Warthog fling helps a tonne with avoiding direct conflict thus enabling the capability to extend the bridge during combat.

I discovered that I could get the banshee through the broken door at 56:15 when I was 5. It was maybe a month or so after I got the game that I managed to do it. what I liked to do was fly the banshee to the bottom of the ravine and just walk around for fun.

With the current record at 1:08:55, that's about 1 minute 50 seconds slower than this. The current IL records add up to a total of 59:28. It will take new strats to get a Full Game run under 1 hour. Segmented, however, will get under an hour no prob.
Seeing as this is Custom Edition, I wonder if the speedrunners will consider running SPV3 whenever that comes out seeing as it will have its own level areas and such.

I'm capable of capturing 60fps but I don't think the other particpants were. Capturing at 60fps takes a decent toll on your computer and I know sub whistle, for example, plays on an older laptop.

How are you able to create checkpoints within the campaign? I'm trying to get into speedrunning but need lots of practice at the tricks, so creating checkpoints to revert to would help a ton. I already have halo custom edition and devmode on Thanks all!

The IL for AOTCR is now 38 seconds faster than it is in this video, thanks to Banshee grab
The IL for Silent Cartographer is about 15 seconds faster too, with new nade launch strats.

A fun thing to look for (or in this case listen for) is every time the music stops and starts over is where they made a checkpoint.

Still loving halo speedruns though. Im on cortana right now in halo 3.
On the bridge at 51:20 you can skip that by jumping on the glass pain to the other bridge saving a lot of time
EODspartan seb seb there's a trigger in the next room you can't miss. the level won't let you advance if you do that.
