Also the reason why the episode is called Battle Royal 151 is because the Alola League actually starts with a battle royal with 151 trainers going at it until there is enough to qualify for the main tournament. You'll be surprised to hear that even Team Rocket made it through making it the ONLY time Team Rocket competed in a Pokemon league lol

yeah i was trying to think of what pokemon debuted that episode but it for sure wasn't butterfree.
I thought it was ep04 but I was wrong. That's the episode that ash gets his butterfree. I forgot that butterfree debuted before that in ep02

BANGER CHALLENGE IDEA - hit or miss…
You can random encounter AS MANY mons as you want each. You have UNLIMITED skips, but whoever completes a team of 6 mons first, the opposing player can no longer encounter further pokemon…
Ie Chilln finds his full team of 6 on his 8th encounter, Quick may fill his team on his 9th encounter. He is only able to actually take up to what he had when chilln locked in (meaning someone may be left with 5 mons and not a full party)! Could be interesting if it comes down to taking a baby mon in fear of skipping!

With that Butterfree episode situation, I'm wondering if the qualification the database they are utilizing is using.... is the episode when the Pokedex identifies the 'mon, rather than when they first appear?
I thought in Bulbapedia it's says when it's debuted. So idk why it's hard maybe there is misinformation there?

Would love to see this challenge again...maybe this time with a short synopsis? Some of the Pokemon here literally only appear as a side pokemon seen the environments the characters are travelling in. Quite often, they wont be the main subject of the episode even if they are in the title!

This was fun trying to remember which pokemon debuted when. For example i thought for sure the pokemon from Win, lose or Drew would be flygon, cuz i'm pretty sure the character Drew who battles May in that episode surprises her by using a flygon she didn't knew he had. But no, apparently it was Milotic's debut. Well i'm pretty sure that just means someone battles a milotic, i think Drew, but my memory fails me.

my anime knowledge might be not very good but I'm 100% sure Butterfree first appeared in the samurai episode featuring the legendary Metapod vs Metapod battle
Quick would have had much better odds if he would have disabled Reshiram's V-Create instead of Lovely Kissing first.
Wouldn’t have mattered tbh. Half of Quick’s team had terrible type disadvantages and he had no answer for that Reshiram. Chillin luck strikes again to ruin the latter half of the episode.

Then we Fight challenge idea: an "auction challenge" where both players have a budget of 1000 and you each randomize 6 pokemon, can be 3 starters each or 6 and let the other randomly choose or each person randomizes 6 eggs. then you guys bid against each other after knowing th pokemon to see who gets what. Could either do not knowing the movesets and ability, one or the other, to make it so you're just bidding on the pokemon or knowing the moveset to get more strategic with the bidding. Could do a silent auction against each other going at the same time and just whoever bids more get to keep the pokemon or bidding back and forth verbally.

You know what would be cool? Another randomized starter game with a wheel spin. This wheel spin decides whether you can skip the Pokémon or not. Skip or take. If you must take. Take best option available to you. If you must skip, say bye bye to rayray

Episode idea: Take turns spinning two wheels, both have all Pokémon types on them. After spinning both wheels, you have 5 seconds to name a Pokémon in Sword and Shield with those types.
Dual-type Pokémon only, if the two wheels show the same types then you re-spin.
If players fail to say a correct Pokémon within 5 seconds, the other player gives them a Pokémon of their choice with the correct typing.
For example, QuickGG goes first and the wheels are spun and he gets Dragon and Ghost. Within 5 seconds he manages to say Dragapult and that's his first Mon. If he fails to say anything, then Chilln can give him Dreepy.

I’ve never watched the Pokémon anime so this challenge would’ve been complete shots in the dark on my end.
Glad that Chill realized that the titles can be misleading...but "Iris and the Rogue Dragonite" was easily not Dragonite's first appearance (the two debuts, though, were pretty decent...Ferrothorn and Hydreigon). Dragonite first appeared (in shadow and gigantic) in episode 13 "Mystery at the Lighthouse"...a full 733 episode prior.
